The God of Wrath

I breathed heavily, taking deep gulps of air. I tried to steady myself before standing up to face the beast standing right in front of me once more. I could feel myself being watched by two pairs of glowing red eyes as well. "There must be a reason you're keeping your son alive after torturing him and all. What do you want, anyway?"

Rain only gave me an indifferent glance. I look slightly bored now. He huffed loudly and scratched the side of his head. "I told you already, he's the perfect vessel; he has the potential to surpass me, and that's what's so frightening about him." Rain snarled in annoyance.

Sora appeared as though he wanted to speak out, yet something within Rain prevented him from doing so. I gazed into Sora's eyes, which revealed hatred for his father and a strong desire to be free. I wondered briefly if he was regretting joining the other side and if a sense of betrayal within him caused by his own actions. Rain was beginning to lose his patience with the whole situation, which was understandable. "Enough of this banter; I will destroy you," he said, raising his hand.

First, I took hold of the dirt beneath my feet and levitated myself using the dirt that surrounded me. With another grunt of effort, I used the dirt as projectiles and fired several large bursts in a volley pattern towards Rain, who was standing below. Each barrage seemed to disappear, causing no damage to Rain, who easily shrugged off everything that was thrown at him as if they were mere toys. He did, however, smile cruelly at this new development in his fighting style.

With an ear-piercing roar, the man jumped in front of me; the movement caused me to jump, startled by his quick actions. He took hold of me with both of his massive hands, throwing me across the room effortlessly. My head slammed into the wall on impact, knocking my body to the ground and creating cracks in my bones. A warm liquid dripped out from inside the skull. I realized it was blood coming from the hole on the side of my head; I had been seriously injured by his brutal attack.

"ENZO, YOU HAVE TO STOP; THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD EVER HOPE OF BEATING HIM!" Sora cried out.

I rolled myself on the floor slowly, clutching tightly at the spot where my blood spilled and desperately trying to prevent further damage. Using all the strength remaining within me, I slowly rose up. As a loud ringing noise filled my ears, I felt myself begin shaking uncontrollably at the sight before me. Rain took notice as well and turned to see what caused this phenomenon; a menacing grin spread wide across his lips. "You're looking even more pathetic than before," he observed cheerfully, licking his lips.

"Atmokinesis." I synchronized with the 5 main elements and became one with them. Atmokinesis is a form that takes an immense amount of mana to hold, yet I had to do this. A faint yellow light erupted from my chest, growing increasingly brighter. Every cell in my body is glowing with power now. Rain noticed my ability right away, giving me a slight chuckle before jumping at me again and punching me straight across the face without hesitation. Blood spurted from my nose, landing on the ground below.

Rain glanced at the fresh crimson stain on his fist, snickering at its sight. Suddenly, he leaned close to the bloody ground, where some remained splattered on its surface.

"ATMOKINESIS, PHASE THREE." I called forth my power again. With all of my mana depleted from its stores, I absorbed what little energy I could absorb from the nearby atmosphere. My powers grew exponentially now as a blue glow emanated from my skin and veins popped up on my muscles. In addition to my current status, the blue glow radiated brightly throughout the entire room, almost like a lightbulb on high brightness, a stark contrast between its intensity compared with its previous state.

Before my body fully restored itself to normal, my breathing began to grow unsteady while blood continued dripping from my lips and a puddle formed around my legs, dripping off every minute drop onto the ground.

Then something amazing happened; my cells continued repairing themselves rapidly, despite all the mana being drained from me. This was the ace up my sleeve, the only thing that could possibly make me have a sliver of hope in defeating Rain "Why don't you go back to how you once were, mortal?" Rain questioned.

"Not yet," I grunted out while struggling to stand. "There is more at stake here. I need more." I inhaled a breath, closing my eyes as I focused solely on the task at hand: absorbing energy from the world and turning it into my own. In seconds, the dark blue color started seeping into me faster, changing to a deeper shade as I continued using every bit of mana I had available until nothing remained except a thin line between life and death.

"ATMOKINESIS, PHASE 4."

Every atom present became frozen in place instantly as a colossal amount of force formed, pressing itself against my entire body and creating intense pressure that caused my bones to shatter. An incredible explosion came out, shattering everything within reach, including me, and leaving a gigantic crater on the ground underneath me. When this occurs, my body is covered in scars as blood sprays everywhere.

I find my vision clouding and myself lying facedown in my pool of blood. I hear Sora call out to me in terror: "ENZO, WHAT'VE YOU DONE?" Then it got hazy. The darkness slowly engulfs me. This is when I could finally use my ace. "Authority of Reversal." A gift that was blessed upon me, it is an ability that allows me to reverse any damage done to my body. If a punch were to strike me, it would instantly be reversed and send the opponent flying instead.

All of my previous injuries healed as if nothing had happened in the first place, including the cracked bones in my arms and legs, as well as any other damage caused by my attacks earlier. I knew Rain wouldn't be amused by such an easy way out though, and when he caught the slightest hint of its activation, it didn't bother me much anymore. Instead, he became angry, unleashing his rage in a single, powerful burst of black flame, releasing all its remaining strength at me along with a murderous glare.

I threw a dagger toward Rain, hoping it would affect his current state somehow, which only made him chuckle again. This time, his voice sounds like it was spoken directly inside my mind. "Nice try," he stated smugly. I tried again, only this time making the second knife come straight down to where we were standing, yet it bounced off easily without him batting an eye. Then there was a horrible explosion that caused the surrounding debris around me to fly everywhere. Atmokinesis is beginning to drain my entire life force; the longer this goes on, the more my lifespan is reduced.

The environment begins changing colors, turning a vivid blue that reflects off every surface around us. Then there are moments where it seems like time is slowing down for just a second or two, allowing me to see my opponent clearly, revealing every detail perfectly within seconds, including its movements as well. Rain moves in a blurred fashion, trying desperately to keep himself under control.

There is one last shot left. Before my power fades, I will perform my ultimate technique. "Authority of Death: Mana Erasure." Before I could even react, Rain placed his hand on my face and erased the concept of mana in my body. My body shut down instantly, unable to move an inch, and I fell face-first onto the floor beneath me. I felt no pain—only a deep, hollow sensation.
