~RING~RING~RING~

"Damn alarm, it's still dark outside... Why the hell did I even set it this early in the morning?" After turning off the alarm, I was about to go back to sleep.

Suddenly, someone knocked heavily at the door.

"WAKE UP! YOU'LL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" Although me being half asleep, I couldn't hear what they said.

As my eyes began to close, I heard my door open, and my lights shined towards my eyes.

"Why!" I yelled. When my vision started to clear off, I saw a pillow rushing directly at my face. As it hit me, my mother seemed to be the one who threw the pillow toward me. "WAKE UP!"

"WHY! IT'S STILL EARLY! I STILL WANT TO SLEEP! PLEASE TURN OFF THE LIGHTS! BESIDES, CLASSES WON'T START TILL TOMORROW!" Because of an event in school, the beginning of the school year was moved to the 16th of July 2019. "ARE YOU DUMB!" Her loud-voiced ringed towards my ears as if my eardrums were about to burst.

"WHY ARE YOU YELLING, MOM! THE NEIGHBOURS ARE STILL RESTING!" She threw another pillow toward my face. But this time, I was fast enough to evade it. "Check the date today! Did you sleep late again last night? I swear, one of these days, I'll confiscate that phone of yours!" If only you could see my mom's expression.

"Would you really take away the most treasured belonging of your child, mom?" I acted cutely, hoping to silence her, but all I received was another pillow thrown to my face. "Can't believe I have an epileptic monkey as my son," Ouch, that hurts.

My mother went downstairs, and because of what happened. I couldn't return to sleep. After checking my phone, I was shocked to see that today is Tuesday. Which is the 16th of July. It means that today is really the first day of school.

"WHAT THE HELL!" I yelled and immediately grabbed my towel, then went downstairs. "What did I tell you? I've been going up and down just trying to wake that lazy ass of yours!" Mom kept on bugging and scolding me while I was taking a bath.

'The water sure is damn cold.'

I wonder who might be my classmates for this school year. Today is the beginning of my senior year since I had already graduated from Junior high. I should just message some of my friends later before heading to school. Rushing with my shower, I immediately went upstairs with droplets of water streaming down from my wet body.

"DRY YOURSELF FIRST BEFORE LEAVING THE BATHROOM! YOU'RE FLOODING THE HALLWAY!" My mother yelled as I hurried to my room.

Due to the time, I hardly noticed my mother's voice and just went upstairs. Why the hell did I even think that today was only Monday? Being late during the first day of classes would surely bring a negative impression on the other students. Though, I couldn't care less because I'm the type to be easily annoyed or irritated by someone.

As I was drying my hair and my body using two separate towels. My phone rang, and because I was in a hurry, I forgot to check who it was. Although, the only people who know my number are limited to my friends and family. So I just answered the phone and put it on the loudspeaker.

"Hey, Leo, the start of the class has been moved to nine o'clock. Should we head to the computer shop first?" Speak of the devil, it's only the start of the school year, and this demon already invited me to play. "Can't we just live like a responsible students for once in our life, Chance?" I responded as I finished drying my body and hair. "Damn, are you really Leo? What did you do to our friend?!?"

What a crybaby!

"Let's just hang around at Mcdonald's near our school and play some mobile games. I heard there is a new game released last week?" I hope he agrees since I also didn't have enough time to eat breakfast. "Are you sure you only want to hang around, heh? Or you just wanna spot some transferees?" He teased me. Although I cannot blame him since my reputation was altered to make it seem like I was a player.

"Are you G or not!" Finally, I finished preparing and had already worn my uniform. "Yeah, yeah, we'll meet you there!" The phone call ended, and I fetched my bag hanging behind the door. Before leaving my room, I saw myself wearing the uniform in the mirror.

White short sleeves shirt, with a maroon vest embroidered with the logo of the school, paired with pencil cut slacks and black leather shoes. My bag is the same color as my uniform, which is somehow a coincidence because it's my favorite color.

'Well, at least you look decent for once.'

Because of my piercings and not so visually pleasing looks, people tend to mistake me for at least 20s of age. Height is 5 foot 8, black hair, and two ear piercings on both sides. I'm just an average-looking guy with a not-so-good personality. Or it's just what I think of myself. People do tell me that I have a side that's caring and soft. However, I refuse to accept such slander.

Never have I ever tried to act like that in some way. As a man, I put pride in myself and my image. Yet, people still seem to see the good in me. Staring at the mirror for about a minute, I remembered that I should leave already if we wanted to at least play a decent game before going to school.

Going down the stairs, my mother waited for me and gave me my allowance for the day.

"Enjoy your first day of school, son," Sometimes, my mother can really be sweet, but it rarely happens. "I will, Mom. I'll see you later, probably late," I, then left while waving goodbye to my mom.

As I head to the shuttle service to head to the bus stop. I called Chance and asked whether they had already arrived at Mcdonald's.

"Yeah, all three of us had already arrived minutes ago. Hurry up! This place is packed with new students. And I must tell you, there are a few beautiful ladies around here," Chance responded. "Yes, bro, I could agree to that," Augustine also agreed to Chance which made me curious.

"I'll be there in around thirty minutes. I just need to catch the bus," I answered as the shuttle service moved. "Alright, hurry up. We also ordered you food for breakfast," Sometimes, they can be insensitive, but there is a side where they are sweet as hell.

-THIRTY MINUTES AFTER-

Damn, they sure aren't lying earlier when they said this place is crowded for today. Everyone is wearing the same uniform as ours, so they are students from our school. Although several customers wear casual clothing, so they might just be nobody I need to worry about.

"Hey! Leo! Over here!" Chance waved from the back, covered by many people standing in front of them. I walked in their direction while passing by many of the students at our same school who seemingly looked at us as if we did something wrong. "Are the three of you hiding something that I must know? Those girls in front are looking in our direction as if we did something wrong," Chance, Augustine, and Calliber seemed to be clueless about the reason for their stares.

"Bro, those girls suddenly stared at us after you arrived. Maybe they want to know your number," Calliber jokingly laughed and mocked me. "Oh please, with this face of mine. No one would even want to ask me out," Suddenly, Augustine responded. "You stupid? Back in grade 4, all of the girls in our class had a crush on you!" That was news to me... How could someone like me be lucky enough to have some of our classmates in elementary to have a crush on me?

"Hey, look at that girl wearing a peach-colored shirt and gray colored jeans. Isn't she the exact description of your ideal type, Leo?" Curious, I took a glimpse of the direction where Chance was looking.

Yet, instead of a short glimpse, I didn't notice that I slowly began to stare.

"HEY! LEO! DON'T STARE TOO MUCH!" Chance punched me in my arm because I was lost in thought as I gazed upon the beauty of the one only a meter away from me. "She a real gem," Not noticing what I said. I blurted out words that I didn't expect to come out of my own mouth.

"Sheesh! Did you just hear what Leo said?" My friends began to tease me because of what I said. "She a real gem!" Calliber mimicked me. "Stop! She might hear you!" I responded and asked them to stop.

I suddenly felt embarrassed. Why did I have to say it out loud...

"Leo, look, they're approaching us!" Honestly, after Augustine whispered that the lady and her friends were approaching us. It was as if my soul, left my body for a brief moment.

"Uhm, excuse me, can we borrow the extra chair?" Angelic voice, angelic face. "S-sure," She smiled.

Is this what heaven feels like?
