Chapter 13: Whim

"I will not let you down, Master."

That was the last thing I said to the man before entering Shu Yin's room. I hid a neutral expression on my face, trying to appear calm so as not to disappoint my benefactor. But internally, my heart beats furiously with fury.

I always knew of Shu Yin's capricious character; but I didn't give it any importance since I felt that her love for me would never change. It seems like it was just my imagination. Was I wrong to accept her love? Am I so naïve as to make the decisions I will make?

I walked slowly across the room; everything is very familiar to me, since Shu Yin used to take me every day. I passed through the first room of the house, a hallway with beautifully decorated paintings on the walls; I remember that she used to explain to me with enthusiasm the meanings hidden in them. I felt tender for her at that moment, I thought it would be good to dedicate my life to her.

I continued walking without stopping, the next room was the dining room. There was a time when she became very interested in learning to cook. Every time she learned a dish, she called me to taste it. The first ones they made were inedible, but I still ate it all with a happy expression.

My steps remained so firm despite the beautiful memories that emerged from my mind. At the end of the dining room is the door that leads to the bedroom; I can hear light gasps of exhaustion from in there. I felt my heart squeeze when I heard that sound, but that didn't stop my steps. I extended my hands and slowly opened the doors. My heartbeat increased progressively, sounding like drums in my head.

'Relax, don't show compassion; she doesn't deserve it!'

Continuously repeating that phrase in my head, I opened the door completely. The room was in disarray, as if a thief had searched through them. The room is still the same as I remember, decorated with many various objects, representing her impulsive and changeable nature quite well.

I took my eyes off the walls and focused on the woman lying on the bed. She was naked and covered with a thin white blanket; She seemed quite tired, as she did not notice my presence despite our closeness.

'What a coincidence.'

I saw a reddish color on the white quilt that covered it. I wanted to give myself a self-deprecating smile, but nothing came out. I don't know what I have to think about now, I'll just ignore what that stain represents.

With a heavy heart, I searched in vain for an expression on my face, but the anguish left me without any trace of emotion. Right now, being a whirlwind of emotions, but I don't know how to express them. In the end, I just looked at her and said:

"How are you?"

"AAH!"

It seems that she still has enough strength to be able to speak. My voice provoked an intense reaction in her. I gave her time to get dressed and calm down while I sat in one of the chairs around.

"Why you…?"

When I heard her first words, I understood what she felt when she saw me. She seemed more offended by my presence than by the fact that I had just seen her having an affair with a man. Not wanting to hear her finish her sentence, I asked her a question.

"You told me you wanted more time for yourself before our wedding. Is this what you wanted to do?"

"It is not what you are thinking."

"And what do you think I'm thinking?"

"He forced me to do it, I didn't want to…"

She finished the sentence with a distressed and desolate tone. Since when are you so good at acting? I could have fallen if i had not listened to the Master's words. It seems that she has stopped liking me. Instead of exposing her, I played along, and quickly approached her; hugging her body tightly, in an attempt to comfort her.

"Are you OK? Tell me his name, I swear not to stop until I kill three generations of his family."

"I don't know who he is, he covered himself with a mask. He was stronger than me, I couldn't help it."

"Sniff, sniff …"

"You have suffered a lot; Don't worry, I'll be by your side."

"Snif, Snif… Yes, thank you."

I noticed a smile tug at the corner of her lips as I comforted her. Do you think I am that naive? You don't suspect me, or how I got in? Doesn't she speak too naturally for someone who's just been raped? I sighed in the calm of my soul; I no longer want to play your game.

I let out a sigh and asked her:

"So, who is Ye Xiu?"

"You, … How long have you been spying on me?"

I didn't answer her question; At this point, I don't think it has much meaning. Instead of speaking, I suddenly moved my hands. I pressed the ascending dragon point to immobilize her limbs; and the point of the crescent moon to disturb her control over Qi. I left her with the only ability to speak, hear and feel.

"Help!"

I did not stop her from calling for help, as I am aware that no sound will escape the barrier that the teacher created.

I sighed to myself, there was no need to go that far. But I have no choice; If you had left me alone, I could have let your actions go with monetary compensation.

"Why are you doing this to me? Are you going to kill me for cheating on you? My father won't let you escape."

I didn't react to her words, I simply laughed upon hearing her threats.

"Only you know I was here today. And you're not going to get out of this unscathed. Who will tell to your father? "Better I make you mute so that you can never speak?"

Her expression became worse and worse.

"Please forgive me, I will do whatever you want."

"I will serve you all my life. I have learned from my mistakes, forgive me."

Incessant pleas for mercy came from her mouth, searching for a possible path of survival. My heart softened as I listened to them, giving me headaches from the internal struggle in my head.

I could have believed your words if I didn't know the weight of the Master's words. He is the strongest cultivator on the continent; and despite being considered a monster for his actions, many respect him because he always keeps his words. I don't have to doubt his help, but his motive leaves me baffled. According to what my father has told me, it is impossible for him to help me just out of compassion; I'm sure he has a goal, but I don't know what it is.

He is now my Master, there is no point in doubting his words. While I distrust his purpose, everyone knows how well he treats his disciples. While I felt disbelief upon hearing that he could see the future, it is understandable that a man of such caliber could accomplish this feat.

'If you had told me about Ye Xiu, I might have let you go. But you decided to kill my father, and that is a line that 'no one' can cross.'

I hardened my heart and approached, unsheathing the sword hanging from my waist.

I proceeded to dismember her four limbs into pieces. Screams of pain continually came out of her mouth, but I didn't stop. I ignored her desperate screams and meaningless struggles and approached her. As a final touch, I took out the dagger my Master gave me; and I cut out her tongue next to her eyes. After that, I took a pill out of my ring, and measured it into her mouth.

The pill did not regenerate her severed parts, instead leaving four stumps, a mute mouth, and two blind eyes. Without my master's help, no one in this world will be able to help her recover from these injuries. I brought my face close to her, and whispered:

"Regret the day you decided to play with me."

I hope the same thing as Zheng Yi doesn't happen to you
