Princess Adelaide opened the cedar Hope Chest that sat at the bottom of her wardrobe. Inside were items her mother had gifted her. She was never allowed to wear it because her mother wanted her to wait for the right moment. It was a dress made of emerald green velvet with gold threading that made the garment come to life. There were also a variety of gold jewelry items, along with gems and jewels.
She was to be Queen of Fenway. Finally her destiny would be fulfilled. No more hiding in a nunnery plotting to take the crown. It was already set in motion. When Princess Adelaide had been sent word of our parents untimely death she never shed a tear.
How could she? She wished it would have been her Sister, Princess Beatrice. Her father had never showed her an ounce of emotion or love. He was distant and only cared for his precious firstborn. Princess Adelaide had never felt the same affection he had showered upon Princess Beatrice with her.
