Callistas Academy
The hallway seems louder than before, though it was on the same educational school she attended, the whole interior she's walking at seems to be a foreign place to her. Following the tall and young professor she kept her head down as if full of embarassment even though it's just the two of them there.
"This is the first time it ever happened, just how did you end up here?" said the young male professor who is in disbelief of the current situation as well. He did not intend to reprimand the young girl, however, the stubbornness led to this event that even the principal and the other faculty members moved their heads in resignation.
"How lame it is, why did the principal even approve of this." said one of the female professors who belongs to the elite department. There was a heated discussion earlier at the faculty, the Callistas Academy is one of the prestigious educational institution in the city and is popular all over the country.
Elites among the elites, politicians or celebrities, the wealthiest and young talents are enrolled in this school. Even though being a private institution that holds the most praise and great credentials, in an academy, there will always be those in the gutter.
The students' classes are ranked from the highest rank A, which consist mostly of the candidates for the student council, the highest student body as they lead the rest of the academy, also they have the eligibility to create or hold organizations within by setting up clubs. Those on the rank are the superior ones in terms of intelligence, skills, influence and family background. They got the nickname of the school politicians because they almost even had control within the academy system. It is also an open secret that the group of directors behind the Callistas Academy are mostly immediate family, relatives or friends of those rank A students, thus, it was an unspoken business relationship.
Then there is Rank B, who have the chance to be promoted to the highest rank if they excel and meet the requirements on the first and second year, they can also hold a position for the club organizations though it is rare to be elected to the presidential rank. They are mostly the supporters of those of Rank A, family from sub-branches, subordinates or right hand. Those who are on top wont mingle down much, thus they need a trusted subordinate to be their eyes and ears, they are the legwork and informants of the rank A. One has to be skillful and thinks one step ahead to be qualified.
The middle rank C are usually referred to as normal students, unlike the rank B, it is rare for them to be promoted to a higher rank and the risk of being on higher ranks is low. Not because they lack skills and qualification but rather they don't have any interest. They are actually what they call the socialites, consisting of celebrity students, influencers, socialites and just golden spooned children. They enjoy most of their time in leisure, such as at tea parties and banquets gossiping about the latest trends, gadgets, fashion and many random wealthy stuff. However it doesn't mean they are inferior either, because what they have are skills and the influence. The range of their connections are even on par with A and B but rather lie low and enjoy their sweet time.
Lastly, is the F Rank, in every institution or group, there will always be on the latter part. In the screening, these are the students who showed normal rates but lacking in any of the qualifications, they did not meet any of from A to C, thus they are ranked in F.
To the high society they are the lowest, but for normal citizens, it is still an elite rank. In order to widen the popularity of the academy, they opened the rank F for the rest of the community. Whether your family is from a humble background, a middle class or small business owners, as long as you pass any one of the three principal requirements in highest excellence.
Those are: intelligence, skills or influence.
Complying with the ridiculous high requirements and passing the tedious exam for the admission, they made it as a front to show how prestigious the academy is. Thus, the commoners can enter the Callistas Academy as scholars and carry the prestigious name by entering this class.
The sad part of these requirements sometimes falls to ruin the normal students who entered the F rank, due to the wide gap in status, they are often treated inferior among the rest. For some parents, they would rather have their child enter normal schools, but those with ambition and are eager to have a better living, it is like their lifeline. To enter the F rank, one must have the determination and courage to face the unspoken consequences.
In these world of status and wealth, only one has an exception.
"I thought there was never a special case, but why did they allow her to attend that class?" Complained again of the Rank B professor.
"Be quiet, we don't know what the principal thinks of this, but the student is said to be qualified to be in Rank A before." explained by her colleague.
"Was that a fact or just a rumor? If that's the case, that's more we need to object to this!" The conversation ended as the door of the principal's office opened and there the topic of the debate exits.
" Everyone please listen." The headmaster, called the attention of all professors, they are all elite and with high credentials.
"This is an irrevocable decision." Even the Senior Professors twitches upon hearing those words, it means the complaints during the debate were heard, however the Headmaster has already decided even before the discussion, thus contradicting to this will result to a heavy consequence and better just keep silence.
"Mari Kim, first year of rank B, is now at the last quarter of the school year, will be taking the rank F's Mathematics class under professor Achilleas starting from today." Everyone has their jaws dropped upon hearing the statement that came out of his mouth, moreover, the unbothered young professor who was mentioned by the Headmaster seems to be so uninterested that his colleague elbowed him to pay attention to the matter.
"Hey, what?" As he caresses the arm that was hit.
When all eyes are on him, he does not know how to react. In this current situation, all he thought of was the easiest way to escape from embarrassment of not paying attention. That is the magic word will save you.
"Yes, I understand." Thus, this is where the story started.
"Just what did I get myself to do?" Professor Achilleas turned his head and looked at the root cause of all his troubles walking after him diligently, she seems to be unbothered and even has a bright expression, 'what a child' he whispered to himself.
"I was surprised! Isn't this great you are the one entrusted by the Headmaster!" Mari, who cheerfully clasps her hand in a gesture to show her appreciation showed even a lovely smile, no one can help but to adore such a pretty face, however not when you know who' Mari Kim ' really is.
"Mari Kim, I know you among the students in rank B, your antics won't work on me. " Professor Achilleas waved his hand in resignation.
"Oh my, professor, don't be like that, you know that I am different among them." She takes it on a positive side.
Mari Kim is the only daughter of the late actress Meisa Kim who was popular during her early career due to the beautiful face that charmed the whole industry, her jet Black eyes and velvety rare dark hair attracted a lot of people among genders. Assign from the beautiful appearance which Mari has inherited, her mother is also a real talent that she was able to receive recognition with just a year in the industry. She is in the height of her career, but just like any other stars, their shine would be clouded, that is when Mari was conceived. She left the entertainment industry with the firm decision of having a normal family, since then, no one ever saw her light again when the news of her passing reached the ears of the media. Childbirth has weakened her body, thus through the years it finally deteriorated to its limit leaving a barely five year old Mari Kim with her nanny.
Having both parents absent, no one ever expected to see Mari entering Callistas Academy with a recommendation letter and even blended among the elites. Mari shines along with them and with her intelligence and charm, she fits in the crowd easily. She is even recognized by the student council as a representative of the first year's even though she is from rank B. Indeed she is the only exception among all students.
