Port Town

After walking several kilos and spending the night in the forest, the three of them finally managed to see another town with an opened gate. The entrance was huge and there were many caravans waiting their turn to get inside. Luckily for them, the line was divided into merchants and non-merchants so they could get in without any noticeable problem since giving the guard money for the entrance fee was always an option.

Crying seagulls were heard by their ears as soon as they put one step into the town. They were immediately greeted by a huge church standing in front while the market was on their left, bustling with business. On their right was a guild with adventurers who came and went, a couple of them were reading the notice board for a quest.

"Wow, what a town, it's full of people here! We definitely should spend a night here," said the child.

Lyounus shook his head, "No, we need to get going and set sail for the next boat to Ambros."

"Tch, why don't you just enjoy life for once, what's the hurry anyway," said the child with his hands behind his head.

"Do I need to remind you that you are scared of getting your lips kissed by a fish?"

The child's cheeks turned a red hue as he glared at him, "Hey that's a secret between man! You shouldn't spout that kind of thing out in public."

Suddenly they heard a chuckle that caught their attention. It was an adventurer who was not older than thirty-something. He had silver armor that almost rival that of a guard in a kingdom. His brown hair was strikingly long and beautiful. They could easily mistake him for a knight with a reasonable cause.

"Pardon me for laughing at your conversations but those lines would make any man hold their stomach in tears, hahaha."

Lyounus paid no heed as the child glared at him. He looked at the man as he contemplated something however nothing came to mind as he tried to remember who this guy was.

"Ah, excuse me," said the man politely, "My name is Ezekiel, I'm a silver rank adventurer in this guild."

The pedestrians raised their eyebrows as one of them said, "Hey it's Ezekiel!"

It didn't take too long before the three of them got surrounded by the locals and visitors. However, Lyounus and the kid immediately got pushed out as Beatrix already stood a few steps away from the crowd.

"H-Hey! No need to push! Ah, damn it!" said the kid as he fell on the ground, "Jeez, who is he anyway."

While the kid was rubbing his butt, one of the pedestrians answered, "Hmm? You don't know who mister Ezekiel is? Ah, you must be new here."

Lyounus took an interest as he let the man lecture the boy.

"Listen, kid, that man is a Silver Ranked adventurer and a 'III' Rank Mortal!" the man turned smug as he was expecting the kid's surprise. However, the reaction he expected was the very opposite.

He was nonchalant as his eyes turned disinterested. He let out a disappointing sigh before he put his hands in his pocket and turned around.

The man furrowed his eyebrows before he grabbed the kid's shoulder.

"That is nothing," said the child, "My father is a rank—" before he could finish his words, Lyounus grabbed his mouth with one hand.

Lyounus shook his head before the kid squinted his eyes and nodded.

"Excuse us," said Lyounus as he pulled the kid.

The man looked bewildered as for a moment there, a cold chilling bone of something he could have never achieved in his entire lifetime enveloped him like a fish inside the water.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, amidst the crowd, the adventurer took a glance at both of their back as they were entering the port to buy tickets for their next destination.

Inside the port, the captains and their crews were docking a ship. It was the only ship that was present. Lyounus furrowed his eyebrows before he approached the captain.

"Ambros for three, I'll pay for the horse," said Lyounus as he pointed out at Beatrix.

The captain let out a sigh. Though it was a fortune to be bribed for special privilege, sadly today was not the day for him.

"I'm sorry, guest, but the ship is not going anywhere until the sun went down."

The kid responded, "What? That's like in another seven hours or so! How come you're not going across? Your boat is broken?"

The captain sighed, "It's not about the boat lad, but the condition of the sea. There was nothing that I could do or our mates at that matter."

Lyounus asked, "What's the 'matter'?"

"It's a giant demonic beast, called, the Kraken," a familiar voice was heard before Lyounus turned around and saw Ezekiel coming toward them.

"Ah, Mr. Ezekiel, good morning."

"Yes, good morning to you too, captain. Where was I, oh right, the giant beast Kraken, I saw it once when I was set sailing with this captain here."

"It was as big as the ship, it could easily flip out the boat if it really wanted to," further add the captain.

Lyounus shook his head, "Wrong, the giant demonic beast you talked about is not a Kraken if it's the size of this ship."

Ezekiel and the captain raised their eyebrows before Lyounus continued, "The thing that you mention is probably a baby Kraken, its strength is comparable to a rank 'V' mortal."

Lyounus words of knowledge surprised them before the captain furrowed his eyebrows in doubt, "Hmm? Are you sure? That was the biggest thing I've ever seen in the sea, scratch that, it was the biggest thing I've seen in the world."

Lyounus shook his head, "I'm dead sure, if it's an adult Kraken, then I'm currently speaking to a pair of ghosts."

The captain was annoyed by his words but before he could do anything, Ezekiel stopped him by the chest.

"Calm down captain, this fellow might have the solution to our problem since he knew what an adult Kraken looks like."

Lyounus crossed his arms as he answered, "Kill it."
