Chapter 1

The rain poured down as I stared into the dark sky blankly. I had finished this farce of a game. Yet, there was nothing left for me. I stared at the final prize in front of me, Mythological Origin. An item that would allow the user's existence to reside on a higher level. Essentially breaking the limit cap imposed on all players. Players or chosen sponsors of other gods could level up and eventually hit a level cap.

The Mythological Origin was something that broke the limits of a "limit cap." A wave of darkness as a woman with a dress as dark as night placed her arms around my neck. "Heath, what will you do now?" I stared at her blue pupils before staring back at my inventory.

[Inventory]

-Gungnir

-Seven Branched Sword

-Kusanagi

-Yggdrasil Elixir

-Mythril Blade

-Shield of Ajax

-Coat of Shadows

-Ruyi Bang

[......]

The list continued, even with all these artifacts and weapons. I could do nothing. The thing with having your life turned into an rgp quest game for the gods is that you tend to hoard a lot of things. "Nyx. I'm leaving this place. I should be able to now that I've gained the authority of a constellation."

The hands caressed my face before letting me go. "Just know, that I'll still be in touch with you. All you have to do is send a message." The avatar of the goddess slowly disappeared as I sighed before pulling an item from storage, [Dimension Gate].

An item that was gained after finishing the game and using the prestige shop.

"Set coordinates to random designated world."

The swirl of blue, similar to a dungeon appeared as I took a breath before stepping through. I was expecting to come to somewhere with peace for a bit. Yet I had seemingly arrived at a place with a strange type of energy. Almost similar to the energy felt from a demon contractor. It was negative but no malice or anything harmful other than attracting some... Ugly as hell beings.

I'd rather fight Beelzebub again. That fly was at least more tolerable than these things.

I raised my hand to load in the shot as my finger flicked out with a burst of air as the strange monsters popped into bloody chunks.

[Heath]

[Strength] [A+]

[Agility] [S]

[Mana] [S+]

[Endurance] [A]

[God Slayer], [Regeneration], [Arms Mastery], [Mana Burst], [Shadow Step]....

Honestly? I'm starting to see why Belphegor was so lazy now. When you have all the power you need, the next best thing is just doing whatever you want to do. No one's going to force you to work.

I continued to walk along the streets, soon enough it was quite obvious which country I had landed in, Japan. Thanks to the [Unified Language] skill, any language was easy pickings. I squinted my eyes as I read the nearest sign that belonged to a school. "Kuoh Academy?" [Detection] [S] quickly caught onto multiple signatures that were similar to a demon. "So even here, there are still demons trying to screw around with humanity huh?" I was tempted to simply go into the school and slaughter them inside a domain isolation, but it would be noticeable to anyone with even a minuscule amount of power. On second thought using Cronos's Authority would be incredibly easy but the clean up would suck.

Well guess I'm laying low for now. The sky was littered with stars and some constellations could be seen as well. A personal favourite of mine, Libra. A small growl and animalistic sound came from behind as I found a grotesque creature that emanated weak demonic energy. A quick flick of a mana burst amplified strike was enough for the creature to pop like a balloon. Now that I think about it, I have so many items that have just been left in my inventory. I fumbled around in my inventory before searching in void space.

"Where is it?"

I scrounged around like a racoon looking inside his pile of trash. My face brightened up as I found what I was looking for, normal clothes. It had been so long since I had worn normal style clothing. Of course, like any good rpg player, the clothes weren't normal either.

[Transformable Shirt]

[Made with silk from the Arachnid Queen and cotton from the tree of tree of knowledge]

Everything else except for the shoes was made from the same set and same material. No need to buy new clothes, just transform. A loose fitting hoodie and sweatpants was enough for him. Truly the comfort of casual clothing was different.

Soon enough I had a plan. A plan to live my life completely relaxed. Buy a house => fake source of income => enjoy. There was nothing else to it, maybe he would kill the occasional demon contractor or demon but a lifetime of a battlefield would make anyone want a relaxing life.

Of course, he most likely couldn't buy a house but he could rent at least a room or share the rent. I eventually made my way to a set of houses before picking a random one.

The door opened after a few knocks. A girl with brown hair and yellow eyes greeted me. "Hello? Are you looking for something?"

Obviously it would be wrong of me to take advantage of her. I shook my head as I moved on only for her to stop me. "Are you okay?" I stare back, "I was originally going to ask to rent a room as I have nowhere to go and the town doesn't seem to have any decent hotels."

The girl chuckled "Well if it's just a room, I guess I'll ask my parents." I nodded before replying "Just let them know if they agree. I'll pay a rent of 800 dollar per week." Her eyes widened before nodding as the voices could be heard discussing. The girl came back out before smiling" Nice to have you..."

"Heath," I responded. I place a stack of cash into the girl's hand before I made my way into the designated guest room. "Thank you for hosting me..." The girl replied, "Murayama." I gave a polite bow before setting a few invisible runes around the room. A quick pretence of going to grab my things as I came back with a mimic. I didn't have a suitcase but I did happen to have a mimic in my void space to threaten.

With the bed set up and everything else I was fine. Now to live my days out in peace. A subtle knock on my door was enough to wake me up as I enjoyed the sleep without any threat of calamities popping up left and right, S ranked quests being dished out everywhere. Murayama called out, "Heath, it's time to go to school." School? I made my way to the kitchen as I explained that I had graduated last year. Murayama was slightly ashamed while the parents laughed. The parents asked me for the favour of picking her up from school since lately there had been a few disappearances within Kuoh.

Something about a serial killer or something.

I nodded, it was no big deal. I had bigger things to chew than monsters, games. I had not played games in so long. I was too busy surviving a bloody game. Now I shall play the game instead.

Murayama parted ways with me when she went to school while I headed straight towards the gamestop. Call of Vegeance, Darkness Six Siege, Meinkraft, Bottom Myth. I packed everything into the plastic bag with the console before heading straight home to binge.

"Sad that you can't beat S ranked reaction speeds and Cronos's Authority."

Yes I was slowing time just to win.

The alarm rang as I got up before leaving the house to pick up Murayama.
