Who Do You Serve?

"Old man Chamberlain, what is the meaning of this?" the Kahi'k asked with a face boiling red with rage.

The old steward quickly grasped Kahi'k and leaned in to whisper some words in his ears.

"Young master, this is the Kahi'k we are talking about. The only tier three master currently in the Ark family. We cannot afford to annoy him!" The old steward begged in a hushed tone, Sol pulled away from the old man's grip and began walking towards the Kahi'k with his crimson red pupils glowing brightly in the night.

"Old man Chamberlain, who do you serve?" Sol asked in a cold yet calm tone.

His question shook the hearts of all those who heard it.

"T-The house of Ark!" the old steward responded promptly with his head held high.

"Warriors of the Ark Family, WHO DO YOU SERVE?" Sol's voice was higher now.

Upon hearing this, both the elders and the Kahi'k were shocked as they all turned around to see soldiers guarding the castle all lined up at the door with their weapons unsheathed. Sol's furious growls must have gotten their attention and since tensions were high, these elders and the Khai'k failed to notice their arrival.

"THE HOUSE OF ARK!" They all roared in unison. Their eyes blazing with hostility.

If it were the old, timid Sol, they would have been hesitant to answer. But after his recovery, they have watched the Young master mature, displaying peak qualities necessary for a leader. His recovery from the immortal blood-shattering seal was something even family heads can only struggle to achieve! If Sol can do it now, who knows how much stronger he will become in the future.

Their unified roar shook the room, causing it to tremble. The aged elders turned pale in fear, as they never expected things to escalate this way. The Kahi'k was meant to intimidate Sol and force him to do as he says. That way, the Kahi'k would be ruling from the shadows, and no one expected the timid boy to become a full-fledged man overnight.

Only a king can summon the respect of his royal guards!

When did Sol become King?

"Elders of the Ark family, who do you serve?" Sol hissed these words, his eyes narrowed and his fist clenched. While it sounded like a question to most, the these elders, they knew it was a threat.

Sweat ran through their faces as they exchanged questioning glances before shifting their gaze to the broad back of the Khai'k. His silence and murderous gaze fixated on Sol proved even he did not expect this to happen.

"Has the elders of the Ark family gone deaf?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow.

As if in response to his words, the guards took a bold stride forward, sending shivers down the spine of the elders.

"No-no my lord!" They said hurriedly as they all fell on a knee. "WE SERVE THE HOUSE OF ARK!" they declared in unison, hoping to get some sort of reaction from Sol, but all they got was a disdainful glare before he shifted his attention to the Kahi'k.

Sol walked forward, his strides slow but steady, until he was standing before the Kahi'k's towering figure. Standing before such the man, his face showed no fear or anxiety as he peered deep into his eyes and spoke.

"Honorable Kahi'k. Who do you serve?" his voice cold and venomous, as if he was begging the Kahi'k to give the wrong answer.

The Kahi'k frowned deeply upon hearing this, his fist clenched as he took a step forward but Sol remained unmoved! The old steward gasped in shock, unsure of what to say or think. This is something that has never happened before in the history of Ark family.

A prince confronting the Kahi'k!

"KAHI'K!" Sol growled in fury. " WHO DO YOU SERVE?" His question echoed, the fury in his voice audible.

The Kahi'k gritted his teeth and slowly his huge figure began to lower. Right before the gaze of many, he fell to one knee with his head lowered.

"I serve the house of Ark." the Kahi'k said in an audible but meek tone.

The world fell silent upon hearing this, and even the soldiers were shocked. Since the death of the former patriarch, the Khai'k who was currently the strongest individual has been acting up, doing as he wishes with no repercussions. Everyone knew he was waiting for Sol's death to assume the post of acting patriarch of the House of Ark.

As news of today's events involving Sol spread across their territory, these soldiers were certain he would approach Sol and try to intimidate him into submission, ruling the family from the shadows, but they never expected things to end this way.

"Good, now remember this for the rest of your days, old man…" Sol hissed as he took another step forward. Even though the Khai'k was kneeling, he was still the same height as the standing Sol. " I AM THE HOUSE OF ARK! Now get out!" Sol declared!

Hearing this, the Khai'k seemed strangely calm compared to before. He bowed slightly and without saying a word he rose to his feet and walked out of the room while the elders scrambled to their feet, chasing after him. The guard who filled the corridor made way for him as they watched him leave.
