Sol Vs Lukas {2}

Ding!

[Warning…]

[Demonic bloodline mutation only grants host protection against poison, but not immunity! If exposed to the poisonous fumes for too long, the host will die]

Ding!

[Warning…]

[Channeling the power of your demonic bloodline drains the power of the one running in your veins quickly, shortening the time of the skill "Embrace of the one"]

[Time Left: 4:59]

Sol read the notifications in silence and the last one left with a slight frown, but he did well to push his worries aside immediately.

'Five minutes with this power should be enough!' Sol concluded in his mind as he began taking large strides at Lukas, who was still hidden within the green mist.

Buzz!

Dark green lit up around his fists as he burst into a sprint before leaping up in the air.

Bang!

With the power of the demonic bloodline, Sol's physical capabilities were improved drastically, allowing him to leap high into the air.

With his arms clutched together like a hammer engulfed in demonic flames, he descended with the intent to kill.

Boom!

Sol landed at the center of the fume, and the ground caved in upon his descent. Web-shaped cracks spread all over the ground and a small crater was formed, with the cloud of poisonous mist dispelled, yet there was no Lukas.

Hiss…

Sol's eyes narrowed, and his instincts screamed danger. His body reacted accordingly as he quickly turned around and with a wave of his hand he released a wave of hellfire.

Swoosh!

Sol's eyes narrowed as he watched Lukas leap over the wave of hellfire thrown his way. His body seemed longer than usual, and his once delicate fair skin was reinforced with emerald green serpent scales.

His body coiled like a spring in midair as he shot in Sol's direction, right after evading the attack. However, just before he reached Sol, he slapped the ground with his hands, pushing himself in another direction, and he quickly slithered away.

Sol turned, but he couldn't find Lukas, all he could see was a shadowy figure speeding past him and leaving behind a trail of green poisonous fumes as he moved.

Against such a slippery opponent, Sol knew he wouldn't be able to catch him, considering the difference in their speed. From the looks of it, he concluded that Lukas was planning to keep using the poisonous fumes until the poison began taking effect, only when he was at his weakest would Lukas strike.

Standing in the center of what looked like a poison tempest, Sol frowned as he tried to think of a plan to get Lukas to fight him head-on. The first thought that came to mind was threatening to harm Lyra, he was certain she was seeing what was going on through his eyes since they could share vision.

If he said something about harming her as soon as he returned, she would escape before he got there. Sol needed Lyra to think she had a chance of taking him to their side and staying in the Ark Family territory. That way, he would be able to deal with her easily as soon as he returns after the first stage.

The next option on Sol's list was the sack of cultivation materials. Judging by the size, he was certain Lukas must have put the goblins to work for a while before they could accumulate this many cultivation resources.

By the way, as long as he acquired these resources, his points in the test would naturally skyrocket, and he would be certain he had enough cultivation resources to push himself to the first tier.

On the other hand, if Lukas attempts to stop him, there is a chance he can kill Lukas and bring down one of the four horsemen here and now.

[Time left: 4:12]

Sol shot a glance at how much time he had left before making his move.

Bam!

He ignored Lukas, who was circling him, and dove for the sack of cultivation resources. Upon seeing this, Lukas' gaze turned red, just like he had predicted.

Bam!

Sol stopped his charge towards the sack and watched as Lukas' figure blew past the location he would have been in a few seconds with his claws striking out dangerously.

Peng!

Lukas hit the ground but quickly bounced off and lunged towards Sol, stabbing forward.

Hak!

Sol growled as he met the attack with a fist engulfed in blazing hellfire.

Boom!

Sol skidded backward with a look of surprise in his eyes. His fist was numb, and the hellfire in his hands flickered out of existence as he struggled to regain his footing.

"What the hell?" Sol was shocked.

He knew that none of the alpha races could match the Ark family's Darth Ark, simply because of his strong connection to his demonic bloodline.

In essence, his strength was tyrannical amongst the peak beast races, so what beast can Lukas take its form that can match his demonic power?

Looking up, Sol's body trembled as he saw glittering red scales spreading across Lukas's body. His eyes were deep crimson and his body exuded a primordial presence that made even Sol shiver.

The vague image of a red dragon loomed over Lukas' figure, causing him to instinctively take a step back.

"He can do that as well?" Sol muttered in shock.

While he possessed the diluted bloodline of a demon, Lukas was drawing on the true power of a red dragon. Sol was shaken deep down but did well to maintain a calm look on the surface.

His gaze fell on Lukas' fist, and he noticed the dragon scales around his fist were rotting. It had lost its glitter and was slowly turning gray.

That is when a thought struck his mind.

'Even the mightiest of beings answer to death'

'Even the strongest of warriors fall to triumph against death'

'If the flames of hell can harm the dead, then who the fuck is the living to resist it?'

Sol's resolve returned as his eyes let out a dark green flash. The flickering flames around his fists lit up in full, surging madly around him, while his demonic aura began more profound and clear.
