History Of The Ark Family

For a month, Louis remained indoors recovering after ordering the Old steward to keep the news of his awakening a secret until he was ready to face the world.

After getting called Sol so many times by everyone in the castle, he got accustomed to the name. During this period, he got to read a lot of books in the deceased Ark family patriarch's library and gained a general understanding of the Ark family history and the current alpha races residing in Aetheria alongside them.

Unlike the other supernatural races, the Ark family is relatively new. It is said the founder of the family was a mere mortal who slept with one of the six-finger generals of the demon race, Yaka, and her offspring gained the power of fire and the physicality of a demon. With this power, the first member of the Ark family. Apollo Ark was a tyrannical force, obliterating everything in his path. And when the time came he reached the temple of the one where he decided to light the candle of the Ark family and elevate it to the standing of an Alpha race.

At that time, the alpha races guarding Aetheria were the witches, the vampires, the werewolves, and the elves. These families have been in the seat of power for over a millennium, undisturbed and unchallenged until that very day. The sky lit up and the four leaders of each alpha race stood in fear, unsure of who would be the victim of the brute, Apollo Ark.

At that moment, the elves were chosen. They were the most powerful of the four at that time but against Apollo who possessed their natural weakness, the battle was not a battle but a public execution. In just a few exchanges, the elf matriarch died at the hands of Apollo and the elves were banished from Aetheria while the Ark family took their place.

Sol soon understood that the hatred for the Ark family had existed long before the last patriarch committed a blunder and almost threw away five hundred years' worth of glorious history. Strangely, Sol did not blame him because he knew the natural strengths and weaknesses of men.

Even the greatest tyrants in history found love, and their blades got dulled in their pursuit of love. Even a few legends of the past lost their lives in the battle of love. Men acquire fame, status, and power only to give it up to a young lady who knows nothing about the dangers and cruelty of the world.

According to a certain religion back on earth, the first woman gave the first man the apple, and he had a fallout with the creator. Sol was certain if the serpent had met the man directly, the story would have steered toward a direction. Possibly the one where the man slaughters the serpent.

In essence, women are men's natural weakness, but they can also be their greatest strength if the right one is found.

Apart from reading, Sol had dedicated his time and days to performing simple exercises, the moment he realized he could move again. From simple strolls around the castle to jogs, push-ups, squats, and other home exercises. Whenever he wasn't working out, he spent his spare time, reading and meditation. A habit he gained after becoming a billionaire in his past life. He knew he needed to recover as much as possible in two months before the rites of awakening began.

This was a ceremony that took place once every four years. It can be considered an entrance exam for the Alpha Academy, dedicated to tutoring and bringing up the next generation of supernatural beings within the city.

Why would he reveal himself to the three families again, even when he was aware of their hostile intentions directed at him?

The answer is simple, Darth Ark.

Somehow, that name safeguarded the Ark family for the past six months. After Darth Ark sent a response to the deceased Patriarch's letter a month ago, stating he would be at the southern gates of Aetheria in three months. A grim silence has washed over the entire city. Every family avoided the Ark family and even warned their younger ones not to get involved with them.

No one wanted to add more crimes to their head and give Darth a reason to lash out at them. Keeping this in mind, Sol was certain he was safe. His main focus now is attaining power.

As long as he can gain the legendary strength of the Ark family he has been reading about, he is certain he can accomplish the task given to him by The One, and in turn, his family on Earth will be kept safe from his killers.

"Cheap move, Lord. Cheap move." Sol would always say each time he remembered he was blackmailed into doing this.

"95,96,97,98,99,100" Sol muttered as he completed his daily workout routine.

By the sideline, the maids and old Steward of the Ark family watched him with bright smiles on their faces. Each day they watch Sol slowly recovering his lost strength, and they silently thank Lord Yaka for remembering them in their time of need and helping the young master grow even stronger than he was in the past.

Just a month ago Sol was in a coma and many of them thought he would die soon but to see him awaken and recover so quickly, they were grateful. What they found more satisfying was the change in character of the young master.

The once polite, timid boy had become wise, reserved, and bold. They wondered if the death of his parents forced him to mature faster, but in all honesty, they didn't really care about the story behind his change. All they knew now was that Sol had become worthy of the title Heir to the throne of the Ark family.

"Old man…" Sol called out as he stood upright, revealing his lean but well-toned muscles.

"Young master?" the old Steward ran forward. He had gotten accustomed to Sol calling him that and took no offense.

"The rite of awakening is tomorrow. Am I correct?" Sol asked calmly.

"Yes, My lord" The Old steward responded.

"Good. Make sure everything is ready. It's time to show the alpha families that Darth Ark is the least of their problems!" Sol said with a malicious grin on his face.
