Defying the Heavens: Like a Man

In a gripping tale of redemption and cosmic responsibility, "Defying the Heavens: Like a Man" follows Louis Park, a billionaire entangled in the shadows of illegal enterprises. His demise unexpectedly marks the beginning of a profound journey. Upon his death, Louis encounters The One, the creator of existence. Offered a chance at redemption, he is tasked with a crucial mission, to safeguard Bashomon, the gates that stand as the wall against the convergence of realms. His atonement hinges on the protection of this gateway. Reborn into the world of Aetheria, a world of the supernatural, Louis finds himself in the body of Sol Ark, the son of the deceased leader of the Ark family, an esteemed lineage among the four alpha races. As Sol Ark, he inherits not only a prestigious heritage but also a mantle of immense responsibility. Navigating the intricate web of Aetherian society, Sol Ark grapples with newfound powers, alliances, and adversaries. He learns of ancient prophecies foretelling the unraveling of reality should Bashomon falter, exposing Aetheria to catastrophic chaos. As Louis-turned-Sol Ark delves deeper into his role as the guardian, he confronts inner turmoil and battles external forces seeking to exploit the realms' convergence. Alongside loyal companions and mentors, he embarks on a perilous quest to fortify the gates and thwart impending doom. But amid the trials and tribulations, Sol Ark discovers profound truths about sacrifice, redemption, and the interconnectedness of all existence. His journey transcends mere duty, evolving into a transformative quest for absolution and the ultimate redemption of a soul weighed down by its past transgressions. "Defying the Heavens: Like a Man" is an epic odyssey woven with cosmic intrigue, moral dilemmas, and the relentless pursuit of redemption, an enthralling saga that spans realms and delves into the depths of the humans, the supernaturals, and the celestials. -------------------- [A/N: The cover is mine, it's original.] More characters images in: https://discord.com/invite/5M9j5qKR

Do Not Skip!

I decided to make a comprehensive list, explaining the various rankings which all beings and races in the book will fall under.

*The One; This refers to the creator

•The One: It is considered the creator of the world and the first Absolute beginning being to be created by the universe. It represents the supreme deity and the being which keeps other Gods in check

•Absolute beginning beings: This is a term used to describe the first set of beings to ever exist. They are the Gods who appear to mortals in various forms depending on the religion. Yes, you heard me. It is the same set of gods given various names and titles in different religions, siphoning the power of fate off mortals.

•Nephilim: This is a term used to refer to the children of the Gods. One of the laws binding the absolute beginning beings prevents them from reproducing amongst themselves. They wish to keep their blood pure and their numbers stable, so they can only reproduce with mortals, creating weaker forms of themselves. Some say the reason for this is their fear of getting dethroned by their children, but nobody can say for sure. The Nephilims are known to have anger issues, daddy issues, and temporary outbursts of madness. The fact they are usually discarded by their deity-level parents and treated like trash by the people meant to nurture them drives them insane. Since they cannot vent their anger on their father/mother, they are left with no choice but to unleash havoc and terror on the weak.

•Prime Race(s): These are the first set of majestic creatures that were first created by the Gods after the universe was formed. These races dedicate themselves to the service of the Gods, acting as their messengers, executions, and mediums.

•Nether Race(s): Just as everything good was created, evil began creeping into the universe. Many are led to believe these races came to be because of the evil mortals commit, but the truth remains that they exist because good exists. The universe will always find a way to balance things out. The Nether races are an example of the world making sure to balance things out.

•Alpha race(s): These are supernatural races living in Aetheria, tasked with guarding Bashomon. Over the millennium, alpha races have changed over time, and this is possible because any lesser race can become an alpha race just by lighting up the race candle in the temple of the temple of The One. Unfortunately, there can only be four alpha races in existence at a time. This means for a new race to rise to the level of alpha, an already-existent alpha race must fall.

•Beasts: A general term used for all the races below the alpha race. They are regarded as mere animals no matter how civilized they are and are treated like one. Their relationship with alpha races is comparable to the relationships of commoners and nobles.

Names and Terms in the book.

Aetheria: This is a well-fortified city built at the center of the universe. It serves as the home of the alpha races, tasked with protecting the realms.

Bashomon: The gateway that can lead to all realms. Bashomon is located at the center of Aetheria, where it is guarded by the alpha races. Preventing beings and beasts of various realms from crossing over.

Ru-Destros: This is a general term used to describe all Battle\Fighter type beings in the universe. They can be found in every race of every rank and tier.

Ru-Naetros: This is a general term used to describe all support/Balance type beings in the universe. Despite the general beliefs of people who believe, some races can never possess balance/support types. These types of beings can be found in all races and are treated like assets wherever they are found.

Hybrids: These are beings who possess the gifts of both fighter and balance types. Unfortunately, they are so rare, they have never been found. Rumor has it that the only Hybrid that has ever existed is The One.

Power rankings.

Power rankings in this book are divided into nine tiers, with each race having a special title and unique abilities in each tier. Readers need to know that all men are not equal, and by this I mean some races are simply limited because they are inferior.

Beasts: Tiers 1-5

Alpha race(s): Tiers 1-5

Nether race(s): Tiers 1-6

Prime race(s): Tiers 1-6

Nephilims: Tiers 1-7

Ancestral Beginning beings: Tier 8

The One: Tier 9

Let it be known that bloodline matters a lot. Should a tier three member of the prime race be put in a room with a newborn tier one nephilim, I can assure you, that Baby Nephy is walking out of the room with the win effortlessly.
