Battle Of Instructors

Kane turned his attention to Sol, and he felt immense rage blazing in his heart. They killed the Ark family Patriarch first, now they dare lay their hands on the only heir to his throne?

Bang.

The windows of the classroom shattered as black fogs forced their way in, racing towards Sol. As soon as the black fog reached Sol, Instructor Ethan emerged from it. Landing on one knee, he saw Sol's condition and frowned deeply as his gaze shifted to Dorothy.

He knew all the instructors of the other races would try to make things hard for Sol, but never did he think one of them would dare lay their hands on him. This is a crime with a punishment worse than death attached to it!

"Ethan! Believe me, that kid set me up!" Dorothy cried out. "He is toying with all of you!" she said, infuriating Kane even more.

"YOU LYING BITCH!" Kane's eyes lit up with power.

Hak!

Kane threw both hands forward and immense flames erupted from them, destroying everything in its path as it moved.

Hak!

Dorothy had no intention of letting herself get killed. She quickly used Hak, manifesting the power of her werewolf lineage in all parts of her body. While her hands reverted to normal, her body began bulging with muscles and a feral presence loomed over her. With a powerful leap, she evaded the surging flames, landing on the ceiling with her feet.

Bam!

Dorothy propelled herself forward, shooting towards the door of the classroom, in hopes of making it out. Since she could no longer kill Sol or get anyone on her side, the next thing to do was to leave Aetheria! She was a skilled hunter who has ventured outside the wall a few times, her chances of survival there are higher than her chances of survival in Aetheria.

"And who said you can leave?" Kane growled.

At the first tier, an Ark family member gains the title Ember Initiates, accompanied by the mastery of the ability Hak. Hak stands for release, which allows the user to manifest their abilities without control. With Hak one can unleash their ability without restraint, giving them a limited number of techniques which they can use.

At the second tier, they are called Ignited Scions, and they are taught the word 'Ren'. Ren means flow, which allows the users to divert all the power in their body to certain parts of their body.

When arriving at the classroom, Kane was engulfed in fierce flames manifested with Hak, making it easy for someone to mistake him for a comet. Then he transferred all that power to his fist using Ren, and that is how the fiery fist technique was born.

Just like Kane, Dorothy channeled all her raw power into her hands alone, using Ren. This was the only way she could force a partial transformation.

Ren: Flight!

Channeling all the power to his feet, Kane was propelled off the ground as he chased after Dorothy, leaving Ethan and Sol behind with a class filled with terrified students.

"Are you okay?" Ethan asked Sol, who nodded weakly.

His pale skin said otherwise, leading Ethan to believe he was hit hard. Unknown to Ethan, his pale skin was a result of him utilizing Hak under the restriction of the seal.

"Hak: Shadow realm" Ethan muttered as his body diffused of black mist which surrounded his body.

Seeing this, Sol was shocked and did well to hide his shock while Ethan picked him off the ground.

Ren: partial transformation!

Channeling all his power to his back, blood-red bat-like wings were formed, leaving Sol genuinely shocked. All this time he had believed Instructor Ethan was the black fog itself, only to realize the vampire kept creating the black fog while hiding within as he used his wings to fly around.

He felt cheated and was certain other students would feel the same way when they realized the truth about his abilities.

"I will take you to a healer now," Ethan said in a dry tone. "Also, about my abilities. This will be our little secret," he added.

Bang.

What the students saw was a ball of darkness engulfing Sol and Instructor Ethan. The ball of darkness then shot out of the room and Sol was gone.

….Meanwhile….

Boom.

The doors of the classroom exploded as Dorothy flew out, performing numerous flips before landing while facing the destroyed door.

Kane emerged casually walking out with fierce flames surging around his palms. His cold gaze pinned on Dorothy as his presence began to swell rapidly.

Danger!

Dorothy's eyes narrowed as she felt all the hairs on her body stand. She knew showing her back to Kane now was no different from committing suicide so she chose to stand and fight.

"I will kill you before anyone gets here." Kane declared as he moved his blazing hands in a circular motion creating numerous after-images.

"I would like to see you try!" Dorothy hissed but deep down in her head she was simply waiting for an opportunity to escape.

Ember Flow Martial Path: Ignition strike!

Boom!

An explosion of flames erupted from Kane's leg propelling him forward, closing the distance between him and Dorothy in mere seconds.

"Strike!" He roared as his fist flew forward.

Boom!

Explosions erupted from his fist, consuming everything in front of him but Kane was able to spot a figure leaping to the left from the corner of his eyes.

"You are not getting away!" Kane growled as an explosion erupted from his legs, propelling him towards the airborne Dorothy.

Ember Flow Martial Path: Searing Crescent Kick

Kane began spinning in mid-air while shooting towards Dorothy. The flames surging from his legs took the shape of a crescent-shaped wave of flames.

"Since you want to die, be my guest!" Dorothy growled.

Lunar Fang Martial path: Lunar Cyclone Fury!

Dorothy's claws glowed with power as her hands moved at blinding, creating a whirlwind of strikes, surrounding herself in a lunar energy-infused vortex, waiting to meet Kane.
