Death is My Lover

Everyone dies. They can die in a peaceful way, in a way that they never expected, in a way that's so horrible, that you can't even imagine that it's really done by a human being. There was a myth that circulated along time ago. Death was a person, he comes to you and watch you die right on the spot. Ashleah chuckled, no way in hell that would be true. Right?

BACK TO SCHOOL

Ouch. Ashleah rubbed her eyes because of the pain she's currently feeling. Every night the poor girl was always crying, stretching her arms she stood up and did her daily routine.

It's the first day of school since that incident of killing happened, and yet they still can't figure it out who the killer was. It was very frustrating indeed.

Her parents won't be home for 2 weeks because of work, she chuckled lightly as she remembered what kind of scene her Mom created just because she wanted to spend more time with her. The woman was like a puppy, whining.

Going down the stairs, her hands swiftly moved to click the switch, the lights opened and she quickly walked to their kitchen. While cooking breakfast something came up, it's been a few days but the killer is still unknown. Slowly shaking her head, she tried to stop her thoughts from getting wild again.

Finally, she was ready. Tak. Tak. Her sandals made sounds when it touches the floor, as she was getting closer to the door, she held her backpack tightly and sighed. 'It's going to be a long day' She thought.

She wasn't completely wrong, because when the girl opened their gates her eyes widened and a little chuckle escaped her lips.

"Nash? What ya doing here?" Confused, Ashleah asked the man right in front of their gate. The man scoffed and lifted an eyebrow.

"Uhhh... isn't it obvious?" Trying their best to be serious the two looked at each other, but after a couple of seconds they bursted out laughing.

Clap. Clap. Ashleash was laughing too hard that she didn't even notice she was clapping her hands. A few seconds passed and the two slowly came back to their senses.

Ashleah locked their gate and looked at the man beside her. "Let's go, shall we?" Nash said and the girl nodded in response.

As their foot stepped inside the school grounds, it felt like her heart was beating even more loudly than it was before. The air seemed alot colder, students trying their best to make it look like it was okay.

Clack. Small sounds were made from their shoes that met the tile floor of the school, roaming eyes Ashleah admitted it to herself that she really did miss this. Nash was just casually walking beside her. Not even caring the stares that the girls are giving him.

Giggling softly, she moved a little closer and whispered. "They're looking at you, won't you give them a glance?" Giving him that teasing smile and eyes, Nash snorted.

Shoving Ashleah's face away from him, he answered. "Oh shut up." Removing his palm from her face, Ashleah glared at the man and started walking in a faster pace.

"Hey!" The man chuckled and tried catching up with the pouting Ashleah. With a big smile on his face, he walked in front of Ashleah, stopping and faced the girl.

Crossed arms, an raised eyebrow. Ashleah was really, cute. Nash thought, he smiled while looking at the girl. "Go away." she blurted out.

Chuckling softly because of her reaction, he answered it with a "Come on, don't be mad!" the tone of his voice was so lively that Ashleah started cracking up.

"Wait! that's unfair tho!" trying so hard to refrain herself from laughing, Ashleah started walking again. Nash did the same, and when they entered their room, everyone was quiet.

It was expected, to be honest. Almost everyone inside this very room was close to Ms. Millar, going to their sits quietly Ashleah held her backpack tightly and took a deep breath.

This was her first time speaking up but.. she had to. She needed to. "I know that it's very surprising for everyone."

Nash's eyes widened as he looked at the woman, the woman who used to ignore everyone, the woman who would prefer being alone than talking to others, he was looking at Ashleah, she.. changed.

Was it because she met him? Trying to hide his smile, he slightly looked down and continued to listen with what's Ashleah was going to say.

"It was hard for you guys since you were close to Ms. Millar." Ashleah's heart was beating loudly, voice was quiet shaking and her hands were trembling, but she stood there like it was all nothing. "But I am very sure that Ms. Millar wouldn't be happy if you guys would always be like this. She brought you guys happiness and smile to your faces."

She took a deep breath before finishing her oh-so-speech. "Don't be sad because she's gone, smile because you met her. And we're going to do everything to find out who the killer is." She said and sat down.

After a few seconds the vice president stood up and smiled. Gasp! Everyone gasped and almost fell on their chairs when the so-called-vice president with that high authority bowed.

....Silence was consuming them, hik. hik. Ashleah's eyes grew wide when she heard the vice president sobbing.

"Thank you Ashleah." She said and faced the shocked woman. "I couldn't explain what I feel when she died but.. I guess you were right." She smiled for the last time and sat back.

The rest of the day was kinda normal, except for the teachers swollen eyes. Everyone was in low spirits. A lot of students transferred to other schools due to trauma.

Walking to the cafeteria, she finally thought Nash was doing something that was fun for him. Her smile faded and stopped in the middle of her tracks, slowly walking backwards, trying to make the perfect run for it. Nash was smiling while holding a plastic bag full of foods.

Ashleah quickly turned around and tried to make a run for it. Perfectly holding her wrist, Nash stopped Ashleah from running away.

"Oh come on! I thought that we were finally close!" He pouted like a child. She giggled and looked at him with that 'are you a kid' look.

"you thought." This was her everyday life ever since Nash appeared out of nowhere and changed her life. She loves teasing Nash, and he does too. It's a win-win situation for them.

"Let's just eat, bought ya your fav." Nash said and as if it was on cue, Ashleah's eyes started to sparkle and she quickly grabs Nash's arm

"Why didn't you tell me?! Let's eat!!" She said pulling him to the nearest bench from them, he started whining like a kid.

"Oh come on! Are you really going to eat with me because I bought you your favorite food?!" He pouted, Ashleah stopped and slightly faced the man who was now acting like a child in her eyes.

"Of course Nash, who would say no for free food." She said, and that made Nash nod slowly. She was quiet right for that, he just let her pull him.

Silently eating, Nash was looking at Ashleah who was enjoying her meal, he chuckled. 'She's like a child right now' he thought.

Confused, Ashleah looked up and gave Nash a 'what's wrong' look. Shaking his head, Nash smiled and continued eating.

Finishing their meal, Ashleah sighed and looked at Nash "Hey Nash, don't get mad okay?" she said, the guy tilted his head lightly

"Why? Did you do something bad or something?" He asked, smiling nervously Ashleah answered him.

"Let's find out who the killer was." Eyes started to widen as he looked at Ashleah's eyes. She was determined to find who the killer was.

"Ashleah, are you sure about this--" She rolled her eyes and moved closer after that she whispered to Nash's ear.

"Do you really think that they're going to find out who the killer was? No. They won't." Her straight forward answer gave Nash goosebumps all over his body.

She was indeed right, there was no investigators today. It was like they forgot about the killings inside the school.

Ashleah was looking around, As she met someone's eyes. She gulped and it sent shivers down her spine. Biting her lip slowly, the person was still looking at her.

It was the eyes on an killer.

"President.."
