A trip down the memory lane{71}

"Get off of me you ugly little monkey" a boy not less than fourteen years old screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Say please" the said monkey teased with a laugh.

"Mom! Vas won't get up and he's crushing my lungs...or something. I don't know what it is but I can feel it loosing life. Tell him to get up already!"

"Come on vas, stop teasing your grumpy brother before he blows a fuse" the soft voice of a woman Wafted to their ears from the kitchen.

"But mom! He's so warm and he smells like pine cones and frosty winter"

"If you don't get up then you won't be getting any cookies" their mother said with a slight chuckle

"Fine! You're too grumpy and sour-faced to look at anyways. Besides, I'm not ugly and we look exactly the same. Your nose is a little bigger and your haircut is kinda ridiculous but asides those two, we're basically the same person in terms of looks so if I'm ugly then you're a hideous beast!" The younger of the two argued back with a feverish determination. He wouldn't let his brother win the argument this time!

"You're annoying and stupid. And I'm not grumpy!"

"Sounds like what a grumpy monster would say. Come on ugly beast! Growl! Grrrrrr come on, catch me if you can!" And with those words the little boy ran out the dining room, through the sitting room and out the door, turning left and heading straight for the forest.

"Vasili you little slime ball. I'll pummel you once I lay my hands on you. Just you wait!" His brother shouted out behind him, hot on his tail.

He skidded to a stop as he heard his brother shifting and when he turned around his little heart almost leaped out of his chest.

Deep jade fur covered every inch of his brothers wolf, sharp green eyes stared back at him. His lips parting slightly, revealing white sharp canines and a playful growl slipped past his snout. With a leap from the wolf behind him, adrenaline pumped through his veins, scorching and hot. Urging him forward.

He took a sharp turn and bolted. Running like his life depended on it. Sprinting fast and weaving his way through the thick forest trees and crushing wild flowers beneath his every step as he glided forward, butterflies fluttered violently at the pit of his stomach, an alluring sound tore through his lips as he panted, laughing his little heart out.

Twisting and turning, left-left-right-left twigs snapped and leaves rustled as he ran as fast as he could away from his older brother.

He knew for a fact that his brother wouldn't be able to catch up to him even in his wolf form if he wanted.

Gifted with impeccable speed at birth, a very rare occurrence even for Alphas, He could outrun anyone he wished and as he aged his speed increased.

He became stealthier, faster and silent. Light on his feet like a soft feather from the wings of the most luxurious bird in existence carried with lithe and ethereal grace he wove around like air but this was time to bond with his brother and so he let his footfalls be heard.

He knew his brother was gifted like he is but in a different way. His brother is a wolf of the earth. Bounded by fates tied to nature thus his jade coloured fur. He had seen his brother on multiple occasions bending and twisting, shifting and phasing through trees, rocks and the soil of the earth. Watched in awe as his brother caught animals with his eyes closed simply because he wanted to show off his deep connection with the earth.

Leaping over a few fallen logs he let out a burst of his scent and in seconds the wind picked up slightly, carrying with it his fruity summer scent, spreading it in a vast expanse through the forest.

He slowed to a stop in a clearing close to the silver stream flowing through the forest. Bringing life to it.

As he gazed into the water watching little silver scaled fishes swim around minding their own business he forgot about his brother for a second and thus yelped loudly when he was tackled and they both fell straight into the stream.

His head sprung up and he laughed happily, watching his brother cough up water he accidentally swallowed as they fell in.

"I've told you countless times to close your mouth when you jump into the water else you'll swallow the fishes with your giant hole you call a throat but you don't ever listen" he teased with amusement dancing across his vexatious eyes, mischief blazing across his orbs.

"Shut up dweeb. It's your fault we fell in! You just couldn't take a little tackle. What got you soo distracted anyways?"

"The pretty fishes"

"You've always had a soft spot for these silver fishes. I almost believed you had fallen in love with them" his older brother teased back with a snicker.

"Believe what you want. I don't care! They're pretty and that's final!"

"Sure..sure. Whatever you say princess"

He almost toppled over with laughter as his brother emerged from the water.

Green seaweed looking leaves clung to his button half down to his mid thigh covering everything private and as his brother usually called it 'sacred' from his young eyes.

"Laugh all you want idiot. I'm not ashamed to flaunt these bad boys"

He couldn't contain his laughter anymore as his brother flexed his muscles almost in a self-obsessed way. Kissing each arm twice.

"You hungry?"

With a knowing look in his beady eyes and a dainty flick of his wrist, golden berries sprouted out from the ground, their fresh aroma spreading like wild flowers attracting the little forest creatures
