Chapter 74: Trapped in the Rain
As Gerald sat with Nelly in the small storage room at their workplace, discussing the intricacies of balancing love and work, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
Bringing it out and glancing at the screen, he noticed an unfamiliar number. The message that appeared seemed urgent and official, causing a knot of worry to form in his stomach.
"Get to the hospital immediately, we need some blood for your friend…" the text read.
Startled by the unexpected message, Gerald's face contorted with concern just as Daniel, a conniving colleague, intentionally locked the only door leading out of the storage room. The audible click echoed through the confined space, trapping Gerald and Nelly inside.
"Did you hear that?" She asked Gerald if he had also heard a sound like a door creak, but he caught up with something else as he kept his eyes fixed on the phone.
