~ in this world there are no teams, there are only the players ~ Raymond Red Reddington.

She woke to feel comfy, whatever she was resting on was soft and fluffy. Fluffy?

Then it all came back to her, the guy, passing out, where was she. Looking around she noticed she was in a room, not too large with soft colors on the walls. She was still in her dirty clothes, whoever brought her here didn't have the sense of decency to change her. Not that she wanted anyone touching her while she was asleep. Hopping off the bed, she stumbled and fell to the ground, pain enveloping her. She could smell things, hear things, and see clearer. It had been happening since she turned.

Walking to the door, she notices her reflection in a mirror just beside the door, examining herself, she was pale, all her injuries were gone without traces of scars.

Walking out of the room into a corridor, the light illuminated the entire place, her eyes hurt, it was too bright. The scent hit her nose immediately, blood a lot of it. Following the scent it led her to a living area the place was fairly large but the scent led outside, walking towards the door on steady feet she didn't notice the man staring at her.

" Woken up early," the voice said

Whipping around with inhuman speed, she snarled at where the voice came from. Her body was acting on instinct.

" Don't do that " the voice said again " you don't want to kill your savior, do we? "

He stood behind a doorway, a streak of light from outside showing little of his features. He was tall.

" Where am I? " She asks looking around.

" In my cabin in the woods," he said walking to another room.

Confused she followed him into a fairly large kitchen.

" Why didn't you kill me when you found me ?"

" You love asking questions, don't you," he said walking towards her with a cup in hand. She couldn't help but move backward until she hit the wall.

" You were weak, and from your scent, you just turned, in other words, you're harmless to me ." He told her handing her the cup. It oozed blood.

" Why does it smell like blood," she asks

" Because it is," he said

" Ewww, I'm not drinking that "

" And why not "

" I'm not an animal, I won't drink it "

" Drink it or die, it a miracle you've survived this long without it, a few more days without it and your body will shut down "

Looking at him with doubt she raised the cup to her lips.

" You're confused, drink up and get cleaned there are clothes in the room you walked out of, meet me outside I'll explain, and don't worry it's not human ." He told her gesturing to the cup.

Raising the cup to her lips, the metallic taste of blood filled her lips, for a reason it was sweet and she wanted more.

I sat on a tree stump a few feet from the cabin. I could hear everything she did and right now she's getting dressed. I picked up the sound of her little footsteps, she is a predator but I can still hear her movements. She came outside dressed in a sweater and ripped jeans, I watched silently as she walks over to me.

" So where can I sit ? " she asks

" Beside me " I replied

She sits down and looks at me with a business face, her heart beating too fast.

" Calm down and breathe, " I tell her " your heartbeat is too fast "

" what's your name? " She asks.

" Xavier," I tell her " what's yours? "

" Camilla," she says looking rather uncomfortable. like she wants to ask a question.

" Ask away Camilla, I'll answer you " I reassure her, why am I like this, I was usually an ' ask later ' guy. why am I asking questions?

" What are you ? " she asks again.

" I'm a zombie, isn't it obvious ."

" yes but, zombies don't have glowing blue eyes and you don't have a scent "

" I can assure you, I'm a zombie just a little different from the others "

She looks puzzled pondering over what I said, not that I blame her, it is hard trying to wrap your head around bits and pieces of information especially this kind.

" So what kind of zombie are you ?" she asks again.

" what's with the questions," I ask her

" Please just answer them, " Sha says her eyes flashing red. if she thinks dominance is going to work then she's wrong.

" I'll tell you when I trust you " I reply, I made sure my eyes were glowing blue, to show who was stronger here.

I get up from the tree stump, the sun, shining brightly above the clouds announcing its presence. Walking further into the forest, I look back and see her gazing at nothing. She is beautiful, if I was human I'd be flirting with her but that side of me has died long ago.

" You're supposed to follow me " I whisper out. Surely she would hear that. She turns and notices that I'm not beside her and wildly spins around to face my direction. Her eyes were glowing brightly, hounds hate surprises and she was no different.

She hurries and catches up to me, walking by my side, we ventured deeper into the woods.

" So, tell me about yourself, Camilla ".

We've been walking around the forest for a few hours now, the greenery of the forest soothing nerves. I could scent a few normal zombies but they weren't a threat at the moment.

Camilla is twenty years old. A graduate In psychology, three months ago when the virus was let loose she was bitten trying to escape from a zombie, but according to her, it was too fast and strong. In fear of turning she hid the fact that she was bit and days after she didn't turn. When her family members and fiance found out she was chased away from the community they were in. So much for the family.

We walked into a clearing, the green grass had attracted a few cows over for dinner and I don't think it will care if one of them vanishes.

" Feeling hungry? " I ask her

" Yeah, what's on the menu? " she replies

" cows," I tell her and bend into a crouching position " there are a few here and I think we could help ourselves to one, also I could use this to train you on some things ".

She copies my stance and crouches down, her eyes already having a tinge of red. I slowly move towards the oblivious cows. I had already picked the one at the far end of the herd.

" Rule number one " I whisper out, surely she can hear me " monitor the wind, it is currently moving from the cow to us. Normally, even if it was the other way around it would be easier since I have no scent but you're here which is different "

We were only a few feet from my target so I had to stop. She was immediately beside me, for a beginner she is good.

" Rule two, watch its movement, it could be on high alert but it's not, then you advance slowly and determine how you want to kill it. "

The look on her face was that of confusion and her eyes were bright at this point.

" How do you do it?" she asks, barely knowing what to decide.

" I usually announce my presence at the last minute then kill it, " I say, looking at the cow " but your instincts will tell you otherwise, you are a hound you prefer silent kills, but you'll learn. "

I stalked towards the cow who was still munching away, a pity it'll be its last dinner, with a low snarl I gave a strike to its neck, the crack of the neck shattering was never old to my ears.

" Good news," I tell her getting up from my position, my eyes glowing brightly " We're having cow jerky tonight"

After hard editing which is only befitting, happily read chapter two.
