Chapter 7

The battle was to take place on the moon because it would allow people to go all out without destroying too much. When the pyramid ships landed and the witness arrived it was nerve racking but when his army came out I call out into my comms "ok you guys see those 2 big red ugly fuckers next to the witness that's Nezarec the final god of pain and Rhulk the first disciple the two main big bads after the Witness" I get a confirmative from all.

"ah so the little Traveler's chosen is aware of me and my army" god his voice is weird to listen to so I whip out the whisper and snipe one of the circles on his chest with a boost from golden gun.

The thing turns to dust but he looks non the worse for it "Yeah I know you ya fat headed freak of nature and I'm gonna kill ya too" he snorts dismissively so I take another shot this time at one of his eyes with not only a golden gun shot but also a volatile round, a charged round, stasis round and a threaded round all in one guided by the Force as much as possible.

the bullet hits and does do some actual damage but nothing more then a cut on his temple because he moved at the last second.

i just smirk "I hope you've said your prays big blue" and at that all the newly made guardians are supercharged by the traveler while I chuck 3 massive solar grenades over my head at Superman, Supergirl and Powergirl then I put away the whisper and whip out the reforged and also supercharged hawkmoon. Next to me Batman just disappears from view and on the other side Green arrow pulls out the WishEnder I had loaned him for this battle and charges it with arc light.

i aim at the witness and push as much power I can (a fucking lot considering I'm currently the conduit for the traveler) and apply a well of radiance that covers the entire battlefield.

"you want the light, I'll tell you what a very wise man once said to someone wanting the same. Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Sacrifice leads to death. So you want the light. Feel free to kill yourself" I quoted the speaker just before he died in the red war. With that I fired at the Witness's face once more and everyone charged.

i hang back and used a bunch of power to make a void breaker axe and yeeted it to Superman for him to use while I switched to the graviton lance and started popping heads in the opposing army.

For a while the witness and his generals didn't do any thing but that changed when Batman launched a tether arrow in the middle of the opposing army and catching just less half before Green Arrow launched a gathering storm arrow into the tether.

when the gathering storm started chaining off the whole army the Witness just waved a hand and the lightning stopped and dissipated. The battle continued like that the witness or his generals only stepping in to stop attacks that would decimate the whole army.

Only when the opposing army was nearing completely gone did the big bads start moving with Rhulk taking on half the league and Nezarec taking on the other half it was left to the founders and I to fight the Witness.

"I must admit you are doing surprisingly well for a bunch of mortals" with his peace said he waves a hand and it's only because of my spider sense that I'm quick enough to pop a ward of dawn protecting the team.

Superman burst into motion when the attacks done and bashing the void breaker axe into the witness's face as hard as he could. Hard enough to actually unbalance the big bitch long enough for me to hit him with a force enhanced nova bomb.

when the dust settles he's still there but he actual has damage on him not much but definitely some. I look over at the other fights and see they are doing pretty good all around sure a few guardians have died but they got back up.

"you are being annoying" this time he whips his hand full force and it takes Superman acting as a counterweight to stop me from flying away while holding a new ward of dawn.

Most of the rest of the fight is just like that with different supers thrown at his face by me and others until the end where he creates a barrier of Darkness which to escape from, when he does that I feel the traveler pump all her energy into us guardians for a final attack.

i don't have to tell anyone what to do, all the guardians raise their hands and blast their opponents with pure Light while I do the same to the witness channeling more Light than the rest combined.

and with a final anguished scream the witness falls to the ground (hopefully) dead.

"I am so fucking tired I'm gonna sleep for like a week straight"
