Xia Mengrui had taken some time to fix her disheveled appearance, examining herself in a small mirror within the green room. A few strands of hair seemed out of place, so she combed her hair with her fingers. "Phew, all good." She was ready to head back to the lounge when the door to the green room flung open.
Turning to the door, she exclaimed, "Yang Lingyun?"
The hallway outside was much brighter than the green room. Xia Mengrui squinted her eyes to see properly.
As the figure stepped into the green room from the well-lit hallway, the hazy features gradually became clearer.
Xia Mengrui's face drained of color. "What are you doing here... cousin?"
"So, you're back to your old ways, huh?" Xia Lihua sauntered forward, hands casually tucked in the pockets of her pants, exuding a savage confidence. Xia Mengrui instinctively took a step back.
The smile on Xia Lihua's face carried a lethal edge. Xia Mengrui was too scared to say anything.
