Although roman has friends he also has enemies Mateo and Jackson, Mateo is a demon that have the unhealthy habit of blaming others for his mis fortune while Jackson believes that roman keeps getting all the attention.

Mateo's parents are Mr and Mrs Smith.mr smith is an abusive husband and always compare Mateo to Romam , Mateo became envious of roman but slowly it turned into hate ,he hated how Roman always got first at highschool and him second, there was nothing he wanted more than to see roman miserable yet all his efforts always failed for one reason or the other

Jackson is just a guy that has everything , but get jealous of someone else,he always wanted what roman had but he couldn't get it so he simply wants roman dead

These two are not the only people that hate roman, but not everyone is vicious like them some.also not I'm not trying to say that he got all the attention his friends got some enemies and friends but the book is technically about roman sooo...
