Chapter 9

Suni blinked her eyes open slowly seeing Valente looking at her with a soft smile.

Tears filled her eyes as she hugged him tightly, getting up from the bed.

"I-I was so scared." She mumbled.

He watched in surprise as she hugged him, taking a while to hug her back and saying, "You did good, dumbass! See? I told you, you could."

"B-but I wasn't even able to do anything. N-not a scratch on the A-Alpha."

"You are pissing me off right now!" He pulled back from the hug and cupped her cheeks, glaring at her. "While the fucking ALPHA owner of this shelter couldn't move, you saved two fucking lives with your own dumb ass! Don't you remember!? Do you have the amnesia disease?!" He lashed out causing her to pout while he still held her cheeks with both his hands.

"N-no I'm sorry."

"Tch. Don't be fucking sorry, be proud of yourself!" He sighed out.

"I am proud." She nodded her head, making his hands go up and down.

"Thank you!" He said angrily.

"Don't be angry," Suni said sadly looking at him with big eyes as he left her cheeks.

"Shut up!" Valente yelled.

"Oh, you're awake." The owner came, smiling.

Suni felt a little awkward. The lady had insulted her so she didn't know what to say therefore she just nodded.

"Myself, Lia. And I'd really like to apologize—" She was cut off by Valente.

"Well, if you'd "really like" to apologize, then fucking do it." He said, frustrated.

The alpha pursed her lips, controlling herself to shout profanities at the redhead.

"I am sorry. I am so sorry that I basically told you that you're useless. I am sorry if I made you feel insecure about yourself. You proved me wrong. And I thank you for saving the pups." She said in all honesty.

Suni blinked, processing her words. A big smile came on her face as she nodded.

"It's alright." She said.

"Thank you. You can play with pups all you want!" Lia said, happy that the cute omega forgave her.

Suni's eyes sparkled as she nodded excitedly.

Readying himself to be ignored again, the redhead walked out with her to play with the pups.

"Little wolves are so cute." The black-haired beamed as she picked one up, sitting on the grass.

Valente pouted seeing the pup lick her face as she giggled cutely. He turned his gaze to the pup in front of him and petted him, watching him nuzzle closer.

An idea popped into Valente's mind. Smirking, he shifted into his red wolf. Now she'll pet me, "he thought"

Suni looked at the big red wolf in front of him confused. She hummed and slowly set the pup down. All the little wolves squealed noises as he saw Valente's wolf form and surround him, snuggling onto his fur.

But his attention was on Suni, she slowly reached her hand out to his red ear, rubbing it. He screamed in happiness internally as she continued to pet him with both of her hands now. Jumping on her, making her gasp, he licked all over her face as she giggled.

"S-Stop." She laughed as the other pups started snuggling closer.

"Aww look at them!" The alpha and beta cooed.

Suni's laughs and giggles filled the area as she struggled to tell Valente to stop.

"It tickles- ahaha- stop… please!" Suni laughed. He finally showed some mercy and let her go, turning back into a human and laughing.

She looked up at Valente who was laughing, looking at her, still hovering above. Staring at each other like they saw the whole universe in each other's eyes, Valente leaned closer to her lips unknowingly. The beta gasped, alpha smiled and the pups' little howls were being heard.

Suni's smile flattered and her cheeks began to flare up as he started leaning closer. He too had a little blush on his cheeks and ears.

Her eyes trailed off to his lips and then back to his eyes. Her mind had no idea what was going on, what were they even doing, it felt weird…weird but exciting.

"For god's sweet love, kiss already!" The alpha said, impatiently.

That brought Valente back as he snapped out of his blank mind. He panicked and his nose began to tingle all of a sudden. He sneezed. Loudly. On her.

Suni recoiled, feeling spittle all over her face. She pouted angrily while he just stared at her, his eyes wide.

"Well?" The alpha said and wiped her puffed-out cheeks. "It wasn't my fault! Sneezing is simply an involuntary release of air that helps the body to get rid of irritants in our nose and throat, like allergens, dirt, and dust!" He defended himself, getting off of her.

"What are you saying?" Suni tilted her head, frowning while the two shelter owners laughed.

"Your dumb ass wouldn't understand it!" He said, puckering his lips.

"I-I am not that dumb!" Suni said in a low voice, but she was angry.

"You do have an ass though!" He blurted out, making her eyes widen. "A nice one!" He smirked making her red as a tomato.

"Y-you don't say t-that! It's embarrassing!" She exclaimed hiding her face with her hands.

"We are right here y'know? If you wanna be a goddamn couple maybe not do it in front of the kids." Lia smiled sarcastically.

"What's a "goddamn couple"?" Suni asked looking at Valente.

He opened his mouth to say something but having nothing to say, he shut it again. He pursed his lips suppressing a titter as Suni looked at him with a cute puzzled look.

"See? You're dumb. That explains it, sweetheart." He shook his head with a teasing disappointed look making her pout yet again. "Anyways, let's get some lunch." He stood up and stretched his body. "And we also have something to talk about," He added, sternly and glaring at her.

Suni instantly felt a shiver run down her spine at his gaze. But she didn't do anything bad so why did he glare at her? Her head nodded an "okay" as they bid goodbyes.

Valente was sitting in front of Suni, staring at her intensely making her quiver.

"W-What do you want to talk about?" Suni stuttered, looking down. He leaned closer to the small table in between them where the food was already served. He kept his elbows on the table, intertwining his fingers as he glared.

"I didn't say anything before coz you had just woken up, but now, tell me, who are you? And don't you dare fucking lie." He asked with venom in his voice. Although he didn't use his wolf voice, this was no less than it.

"I-I am S-Suni-"

"I fucking know that." He gritted his teeth. Calming his angry self down and sighing out, he asked again, "Why on earth do you have dragon wings? You told me you had no magic."

Suni had forgotten about this. She shot her head up and looked at him. "I d-don't know, it doesn't f-feel like magic." She stuttered but she was telling the truth.

He huffed angrily. "Why didn't you tell me!!?" He growled loudly causing people to look at them and making Suni's eyes water. It wasn't because people looked at them it's because he used his wolf voice, again.

"I-I am s-s-sorry..." She whispered. "I-I'll tell you now. It first ap-appeared w-when I w-w-was running aw-away from my pa-pack kingdom," She sobbed.

Valente fucked up, again, and he knew it. He sighed, angry at himself for using his Alpha voice at her again. He pursed his lips and looked at her as she tried to say something, trembling, but failed. She gulped and tried again as tears made their way down her cheeks.

"Fuck." Valente wanted to punch himself. He stood up from the seat and picked her up. Suni just cried and didn't dare to look up to him. Why must everyone speak to her in a wolf voice? She hated being weak. She hated being an omega. Everyone did it, everyone treated her like trash. She was sure, Valente would throw her away too like she's garbage.

Valente left the place with a wailing Suni in his hands and she cried on his neck as people looked at them weirdly. But Valente didn't care.

"I-I-I'll t-tell you everything, I-I p-promise, p-please leave me a-after that," Suni whispered, sobbing.
