8. Unexpected Guests

When Tom went home he was angry because he couldn't get Alice out of his mind. Ever since Tom saw Alice today, he felt a connection between them.

Tom thought it might be a spell someone had cast on his soul. This is very unlikely, because even the Old Man couldn't secretly cast a spell on Tom.

Tom cut his soul 7 times. Could a soul fragment in one of the pieces have been damaged?

Tom did not allow this to happen because Tom put protective spells on all his things. Even the old man died with one of these spells.

While Tom was thinking, a voice came from the garden of the house.

As the house was protected by spells, no one could enter the house.

Tom didn't know anyone here. His house was in the forest and no one knew his house.

Tom took his wand and cast the 'Guardium Defensor' spell on himself, creating a transparent barrier around his body, and went to the door.

When Tom opened the door, there was a man and a woman. The man at the door started to laugh.

"We finally met our meal today."

Tom just stared. When the woman saw that Tom did not react, she started to laugh.

"Stupid, speechless with fear, I think he'll pee his pants soon."

The man turned to the woman.

"Then, wife, you can taste it first."

The tip of Tom's wand glowed slightly.

The people in front of Tom were frozen. The two people in front of him could not move.

Tom had never been treated with such disrespect. These two had mocked Tom and wanted to kill him.

Tom was already angry, now he was even angrier.

Tom waved his wand. Earth-coloured chains came out of the ground and grabbed two people.

Tom used the opposite of the spell he had cast and removed the spell from the people. Both their eyes looked terrified. It was the first time they had encountered something like this.

Tom had probed their minds. They were vampires who wanted to drink Tom's blood.

Tom thought that if he were a normal person, he would be dead by now. He decided to kill them both. When they saw Tom raising his wand, the two vampires started to beg for forgiveness.

The male vampire started to speak.

"Please don't hurt us, we'll do whatever you want."

The female vampire spoke as well.

"Yes, if you want, we will serve you forever. We will do whatever you ask."

They both struggled against their chains, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't break free. Tom's magic held them firmly in place. He raised his wand, pointing it at them with a calm but determined expression.

The female vampire's panic grew, and she pleaded desperately.

"I'll do anything you want! Please, spare me! You won't find anyone more beautiful than me."

Her words triggered a memory in Tom's mind—Alice. The thought of her made him frown. He felt disgusted by the vampire's desperate attempt to bargain for her life.

Without hesitation, he cast his spell.

"Pyroflare!"

Flames erupted from his wand, engulfing the two vampires. Their screams filled the air for only a moment before the fire consumed them completely. The spell was so powerful that not even a trace of ash remained.

Tom had started regaining his emotions, but he still couldn't tolerate disrespect. He didn't see himself as good or evil—he simply did whatever he wanted.

These vampires were different from any he had encountered before. That unsettled him. And then there was Alice. The feelings he had toward her and her father were similar to what he felt around these creatures. Were they vampires too? He would have to be more careful around them.

Tom had many enemies. Was this an elaborate trap? Or did Alice and her family have their own plans for him? Did they want his blood?

He decided to stop thinking about it for now. After a small snack, he returned to his magical studies.

Night had fallen, and Tom made himself a cup of coffee. As he rested, his mind drifted back to Alice. His body was that of a 25-year-old man, and he suspected that was the reason for his distraction. After all, his soul was 78 years old. The idea of being interested in a high school girl went against his morals, and it unsettled him deeply.

Frustrated with his own thoughts, Tom sighed and decided it was best to sleep for now.
