TODAY YOU SAW ME chapter 35

Everyone was asleep. Celine was pacing around the room. She needed to see that stupid prince that claimed that her life was at his fingertips, he could just shake it off or discard it.

The crown prince Logan.

To come to think of it, she hadn't heard from him after that time he had come to the palace. She needed to see him urgently.

She wore her cloak and sneaked out from the back. The large garden had a small gate that led outside the palace.

Since she entered the palace, she hadn't stepped foot outside. She wondered how the queen managed.

The road to Segovia wasn't far from Xavier. It was a one and a half hour walk to the kingdom. And using a horse was only few minutes.

The crown prince Logan sat on the throne looking at some files. " These Xavians are really daring", he muttered. They pushed the date of the renovation date closer meaning that they wanted him to make unnecessary budget.

What's the worst that could happen.

Just then, a guard came in and announced the entry of Celine. "Your highness, the crown prince, your servant Celine is here to see you", he said.

The crown prince Logan looked up and smiled. "Today, you decided to see me, this means good news ", he said and she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, right. My life at your fingertips is good news ", she said and he laughed.

"I need you and we made a deal", he said and she agreed.

He motioned for her to sit and brought tea. "So, why did you come ? I told you not to worry", he said and she nodded. "When I need you I'll let you know ".

He watched her for a while. Did she just come here to drink tea and go? He became impatient. "Did you come to drink or have a talk with me?", He asked and she looked at him.

"I thought you'd ensure my safety, your highness", she said. He looked surprised. "What does that mean?" He asked.

" For someone who has eyes and ears everywhere like a wild beast, you sure missed out something", she said and he shrugged. "Like what?" He asked .

He looks quite clueless for a skilled prince.

" Sometime ago, someone wanted my life. Now, the lady Gwen pushed me into the pool knowingly. Though she didn't show it, she was bad at acting", she said and he smirked.

"I didn't actually know who pushed you, but, the crown prince Alexandro saved you", he said with a satisfied look.

" Seriously, that doesn't justify a thing", she said and he shook his head. " The person chose the perfect night for it", he said.

Celine widened her eyes, he was speaking like he knew it happened. " Did you know?" She asked and he nodded.

"And you let it slide"

"You didn't die and had a romantic night with him, so..."

"So?" She cut him off. He knew she almost died and he was dormant with the situation. "We made a deal", she said and he only sipped his tea.

"The deal was that I will ensure your protection after you're done", he said and she cursed him. "What if I die on the way?", She asked and he said nothing.

"Wow, what kind of prince are you?" She scoffed him.

" You won't die in the way, I'll ensure it does not happen", he said. Celine felt a little bit satisfied, but couldn't just let the fact that he knew she almost died and did nothing about it slide.

"Why should I believe you? Because you're the prince?" She asked not expecting a reply. She got one and a boastful reply.

"Yes".

"You must have a competitor, was it the lady Gwen of south Sheba?" He asked and she nodded. But he didn't look her way and pretended like he wasn't speaking to her.

"Ah, yes, lady Gwendolyn. She's a viper for sure, but clearly a douchebag. She has the queen and her father on her side", he said finally looking at her.

"I'll try, all I need is my protection ", she said standing to leave. "The queen plans on getting rid of you", he said and she sat back on the chair.

" How do you know that?" She asked. This was her first time hearing such a thing. "Like you said, I'm a wild beast", he said feeling so on top of the world.

How come someone who's not in the palace knows more than I who stays in the palace?

She figured out that she must have been dormant enjoying only food and the everyday drama that occured. "And why is that?" She asked.

Why was she asking, she herself knew that the queen hated her but her mind didn't really get to that place.

"You know that. No shaman need tell you, Celine", he said and she shrugged. He continued. " You don't really know the queen do you?" He asked rhetorically but she shook her head anyway.

" She's the woman, even after her husband continued the war for two more years. She did some kind of reformation, but in a much negative way", he said and she, Celine seemed surprised.

" You must have heard of the death of a minister_", he looked at her for reply, but got non. Knowing that she knew, he continued.

" Well, the man got burnt with acid and tortured with hot iron by the queen herself", he said and she seemed very surprised. "I know it's painful right, that's why I need you there. I want that queen to step down ".

"Why, it's not like you rule over Xavier?" She asked and he was quiet for a while. "When she steps down, my plan would be in full gear ready to launch ".

He meant that she was the one obstructing him. If the queen Thalia stepped down, he could advance on Xavier.

" Whatever way, you see it. Just do your job", he said and she rolled her eyes.

" I believe you're doing a good job", he said and she stood to leave. "I'll be walking to Xavier", she said and started leaving.

"One of my men would take you back. At least I'm ensuring your safety", he said and winked.

Almost at the door, he said. " Your sister greets you. You wish to see her?"

"No, if I do, I might not want to leave", she said and left.

The heavens had blessed him. They gave him this lady and he knew, he just knew that with her his plan would go without hindrance.

She was innocent, but exuded this dark aura that he knew and believed would help him.
