1. the devil's soul

The ambience was eerie. Dark shadows cast upon faces of people, enhancing their emotions: dejected, out of tune with the world, high.

A flirty smile on her face as usual, Lia served the drinks while making small talks with the customers. If she was lucky, she would attract someone and get a tip, which was usually.

It was just getting boring with some guy who kept emphasizing on the fact that he was an engineer that works with a big company-like she cared-when he walked in.

Hair as dark as the devil's soul and eyes so intense you would get lost. Their eyes locked for a moment before he looked away, no emotions let through, and walking to a table with the friends he came with.

Abandoning the pretentious engineer with a quick excuse, Lia swept over to the table he sat at before someone else beat her to it.

"Rare that we get such good looking customers, my lucky day," She flattered as she approached, trying to get on their good side. He didn't even glance at her. A brown haired boy with fangs that appeared as he smiled spoke to her instead.

"You're quite a belle yourself."He winked lightly at her and she lightly bit her lips as she gazed at him. Sneaking a glance to the the one who caught her attention, she noticed he still hadn't looked at her, eyes glued to the screen of his phone as he played some arcade game. That pissed her off. His other friends had noticed her and made comments but he was as still as a rock.

"Your friend doesn't seem like much of a talker." Lia indirectly called him out, gazing at him. She noticed his movements halted a bit. Smirking triumphantly, she went lower and closer to him, making sure to give him a full view of her unbuttoned chest.

He froze noticeably, still not looking at any part of her.

"What are you having tonight, mister?" She said in a whisper, appreciating his every details. He looked carved by the gods.

Suddenly, he pushed away from the table and walked out, leaving her hanging awkward there.

Embarrassed, she straightened and glared after him. "The fuck is with him?"

His brown haired friend gave Lia an apologetic smile and chased after him. Scoffing, she turned her attention to the rest, too much in a bad mood to make small talk as she glumly took their orders.

Outside the bar, Kyle caught up with Jae in the dim, narrow alley. The latter was standing motionless few feet ahead but when Kyle got close he realized he was breathing heavily.

"It's..." Jae began, his usual cold demeanor crashing and his voice a little shaky. "It's her, Kyle."
