Encounter

"Ugh, I sleep well last night. Now is the day! But I need breakfast first."

Kurt smiling, he's dreaming this for all his entire life. To be an adventurer. He's packing up, keep the pauldron in the bag. He's also greet the receptionist then go for a breakfast.

"(Ah, now I'm full. Phew, Lady Hephaestus sure take a good care of me. Even she's gave me a sack of golds. Now, to the guild house!)"

"(Ah, wait a minute. I got no weapon, I should go to the weaponry first.)"

Kurt remember he doesn't bring any weapon when he travelling to find Orlean. It because he broke all of his tools and made it again conventionaly after it.

*ring*

"Ah, welcome boy! Do you need something?"

A big muscle man greet him behind the table. With an eyepatch in his left eye and a bandana to cover his hair.

"Yeah, sir. I need a dagger. And sir, do you can help me to equip this pauldron?"

"Ok, wait a second.. Here you go, a fine dagger. Lemme see the pauldron."

The shopkeeper brings a dagger within it sheath. Then Kurt putting the pauldron in the table then reach for [Standard Dagger]. Examine it. The shopkeeper also examine the pauldron.

"A fine pauldron, very well then. Lemme suit you."

"Ok, sir."

"You can call me Bert. What about you, little guy?" The big man named Bert. Kurt keep it in mind.

"I'm Kurt."

"Yup, it's done. The dagger costs three golds."

"Three golds then, thank you Bert. See you."

"Ok, don't get yourself into big danger little guy."

Now Kurt has prepared to register himself as an adventurer in the guild. He's getting used to crowded now because Orlean is always full of people.

*bugh*

"Ah, sorry."

"It's you. Rookie."

"(Oh God, not again.)"

Kurt confused, in this many people why is that he should meet with him again.

"You look prepared. Ready for some trip?"

"Yeah, kinda."

"Fine. When you go out, I hope that I'm not gonna meet you."

"(Well, me either.)"

Kurt hurriedly to seperate ways with him. After a brief moment, Kurt arrived at the guild.

"(Still a lot of people.)"

Kurt eyeing every corner looking for the guild receptionist desk. In a table, Kurt see a girl that he never seen before. Girl with a white hair, wearing a knight's armor. Before Kurt realize, the girl gazing at Kurt with cold aura. Kurt hurriedly stare the hallway then walk away casually.

"(H-huh, that's little bit cold. Looks like I don't want get to near her.)"

"(Ah, there it is.)"

Kurt find the receptionist sign at the hallway. He followed it but not find Kuzura behind the desk. Kurt thought that Kuzura was one of the guild receptionist.

"Can I help you, little guy?"

A brown haired woman behind the desk greet Kurt from the distance.

"Ah, yes. I want to be an adventurer."

"Oh, at this age? Are you serious?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Please, don't call me ma'am. Eri just fine. Do you mean it? Look at you, not even 4 ft tall."

"I know what I'm doing, Eri. Just register me."

"Ok fine. Let me pick the document.. Please fill it."

"Sure.. Done."

"Congrats! Now you're already become a D-rank adventurer. Here's your adventurer tag. People will identify you with this tag. If you willing, the quest board are near the lounge but please do take a look to the quest rank. Or maybe you want to go to the dungeon without any quest, it's your call. Also, you can deliver a beast core or something else to exchange it with golds. Have a great day."

"Thank you."

Kurt immediately leaves the receptionist. Now he's confused what will he do next. Whether he picked a quest or deliver a beast core, those will make him grow stronger. He decided to look the quest board first. He found a C-rank quest that looking for the Horn of Draugr. He pulled it from the board then take it to the receptionist.

"Ah, okay. Horn of Draugr. It's quite rare actually. I remembered it's roam around at the 2nd or 3rd floor."

"It's okay, thanks."

Quest. In order to make living out of Guild Adventurer, someone has to take a quest. It varies depending on the client. The client should pay some administration for addressing a quest. Then there will be an officer for qualify and estimating the price of a quest.

Kurt left the receptionist after say goodbye. At the lounge, he found two parties had a quarrel while everyone ignoring them. A blonde-twintail girl starts yelling to the opposite party to defending her party.

"I don't care if you disagree with our terms. My party was the first who took the quest. The quickest who gets it!"

"Well, little girl. It seems that our party is more efficient to finish this quest. I hope that you won't mind to step aside."

A not very old bearded man replying the twintail girl with ease. The man's party looks quite promising with five members. Two mens wielding a bigsword including the beard man. Two woman wielding a bow and a young girl wield a staff. Meanwhile the twintail girl's party is just three members. The twintail girl is wielding a bow, the only guy with glasses in her party is wielding a sword and shield while the other girl wield a staff.

"Listen, I am a woman and there is a saying that ladies goes first. So, step aside and let my party finish it."

"Oho. Not that easy, little girl." This time, the other guy that wielding the bigsword speaks up.

"Stop address me 'little girl'! I got a name, it's Ryu! Ryu Musashi."

"You're start to iritate me, little girl Ryu."

"Yeah. Just stay away, will you?"

The two bigsword guy move a bit closer to Ryu. The girl at Ryu's party is frightened while the only guy tighten his sword grip.

"Hey, it's him, right? The Heavy Buster Duo."

"Yeah, black hair with a beard. Arno Shina. Look at his blade. I heard that whoever got hit by his blade, the blade will occur a curse. The other guy is Adam, isn't it?"

"Right."

Kurt heard the people whispering about the bigsword guys. After a brief moment, Arno quickly going to grab Ryu's shoulder.

"(Should I help them? Ah suck it.)"

"Excuse me, sir. Is it a little bit rude to a woman?"

Kurt arrived to catch Arno's hand in a blink of an eye. Arno shocked, visible in his eyes but quickly relieved. While Adam looked calm.

"Who are you, kid?"

"I'm just a passerby."

"Courting death, huh?" Arno pulls his arm back.

"Give me your name kid."

"Pardon me, but it's none of your business, sir."

"You-.."

Arno stopped his sentence when Adam catch his shoulder. Adam gives a no to Arno's action. Adam slightly aware that Kuzura is watching them over.

"You better hope not to cross my path again, kid."

Cooling down his tense, Arno turn around then gives a glare to Kurt. Suddenly Kurt feels frightened. He realized it is not from Arno but from Adam.

"(Well, I think Adam is stronger than Arno. I'll keep it in mind.)"

"Hah, you! What's wrong with you? I'm almost got Arno cornered. Then he left, thanks to you." Ryu can't hold any longer, then he release it to Kurt.

"It's enough, Ryu. We can't make riot any longer."

"R-right, Ryu."

The guy pulls Ryu to his side then he whispered something to her. After a moment, Ryu nods to the guy.

"Well, it's your lucky day. Remember! I'm Ryu, no need to tell your name. Huh." Ryu walk away after she speaks.

"Pardon me, she's usually not that rough. My name's Manato Berus, I'll say my thanks on behalf of my party. Good bye, adventurer."

"Ah, yes. It's okay. I'm Kurt, by the way."

Ryu's party left the guild house. Now everyone is watching Kurt. Feeling uneasy, Kurt hurries to get out of there.
