The weekend is back!
Today's weather is as bright and as cool as Mel's heart and mind. She kept smiling on her way to the restaurant. She promised to have lunch with her best friends. All the way, she hummed after the song that came from the car sound system.
She is in a good mood hope nothing will change it; she crosses her fingers.
She has been thrilled in the past few days, mainly because Tanner Entertainment's shares have fallen steadily to their lowest point. Andy Tanner scandal is still trending number one in online news media; even some gossip shows on local TV are still reporting it.
She has also acquired some of the company's shares. However, the number only 25.5%, and it is still far from her plan. She wanted to own at least 51% of the company shares to become the largest shareholder.
She must immediately meet Aunty Bella; only Aunty Bella can help her buy shares from other shareholders. Hiro has tried to approach the shareholders, but they have refused Hiro's offers so far.
Mel is driving her car when she suddenly remembers something "Max... call Alex!"
After ringing four times, she finally heard Alex's voice.
"H-halo..." his voice was hoarse like he just woke up from sleep.
Mel was a little surprised. She glanced at the digital clock on the dashboard; it's 11.30 AM. "Brother, are you still sleeping?"
Alex, who was just about to go to sleep, suddenly woke up again. He sat on the edge of his bed. "Yes, what's up, Little sister?"
"At this time? are you still sleeping?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Alex was a very disciplined person. He always got up before sunrise to exercise. Is he sick?
"It's midnight here. I was just about to sleep."
"Oops! Sorry, brother. My bad. I thought you were here, in X."
"I'm on a mission; It's been two days. Why did you call anyway?" Alex leaned against the window, his gaze on the empty street outside the hotel.
"Nothing urgent. I'll tell you later when you come back. You can continue your sleep. Sorry to wake you up," Mel's saying sorry but with a chuckled.
"Now I'm awake; why don't you just say it?" Alex sounds a bit annoyed.
"Okay. You win. I just wanted to talk about the results of the psychologist consultation. So when are you coming back?"
"Maybe in a week. Is everything alright?" Alex's voice sounded worried.
"Yeah, sure. I'm fine." Replied Mel. She has already met the psychologist recommended by Alex, and her condition is getting better. Now, she rarely cries in her sleep.
"When you come back, promise to let me know immediately," Mel said.
"Okay. Have a nice day, little sister." Alex turned off the phone. He took a deep breath, his eyes still looking outside the window while his mind seems thinking about something that bothers him. He then stood for a few more minutes before went back to sleep.
Meanwhile,
Mel arrives at the parking lot right beside Double Six Club. This place is the best place to eat and to hang out, famous for its one-stop entertainment.
Inside, there are two restaurants, the best sushi and western food restaurant in town. Other than that, there is a café with live music. They usually invite top bands from around the country and even from foreign countries. Double Six also have a karaoke place, a bowling place with eleven lines, and some billiard tables.
This place is like a heaven for young people and young entrepreneurs in the city. Likewise, Mel and her friends have been hangout here ever since they were in college. Almost every day they come here on the weekend.
When she was in college, she bought shares of this club through her investment company, MT Investment. Now, unbeknownst to others, she is the biggest shareholder of the club.
As she walked towards the Sushi Restaurant on the second floor, a man greeted her, "Sister Melanie?"
She was a little surprised someone had called her by her real name. She saw a man blocking her path. It's Andy Tanner, the bastard who always showed up when she was in a good mood.
She tried to keep her face cold, expressionless. She does not want to be provoked by Andy, like the last time they met. 'Sorry, I'm not Melanie Tanner. I'm Mel Tan, I'm Mel Tan.' she spells herself.
Because Andy was deliberately blocking her way, Mel stops. Andy speaks to her again, "No, no, no, I know You're my sister. You still remember me, don't you, sister?" Andy is sure that she is her older sister Melanie Tanner.
Mel was getting annoyed. "You again?"
"Yes! I knew it. you are my sister Melanie Tanner!" He was happy.
"You..." Mel raised her hand and pointed Andy Tanner right in the face. "What is your name again?" her voice sounded so cold.
"Andy Tanner." He gave her the most beautiful smile. Like he does when he meets his fans.
But Mel looked at him with disgust. "Mr. Andy Tanner, I'm sorry to say this, I think you got the wrong person. My name is not Melanie Tanner like you think." her voice sounded calm and unpretentious.
Andy Tanner is still standing in front of her. He furrowed his brows in disbelief. He still believes this woman is Melanie Tanner, her older sister. The latter had left the mansion when her mother divorced his father.
"Come on, Sister, don't deny it. I know you are Melanie Tanner; you look like Aunty Linda."
Her expression froze, but only for a fraction of a second; she didn't want to linger around Andy Tanner any longer. Without another word, she walked past him and headed for the second floor to meet her friend.
"Mel, are you sick?" asked Anna. She is surprised to see Mel's pale face, and she can see the sweat on her forehead. Others immediately turn around to see Mel, and they express their concern about her too.
'Good job, Mel, now everyone is concerns about you' Mel's pouting at herself.
"What's wrong, Mel?" Harry stood closer to her.
She didn't answer. She sat down and took a glass of water from the table; She drinks it in one big gulp.
"Mel, you look sick. Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" implored Windy.
Mel raised her hand, trying to calm them. "Relax, guys, I'm okay." she lied.
When she heard Andy Tanner mentioned her mother's name, her heart suddenly felt like racing. Then it's hitting a wall and torn apart. A painful past inundated her mind, aching her heart. Her mother's name has always been her Achilles heels. Since recovering, she has never mentioned or heard that name.
Suddenly she just wanted to be hugged. She needs her Grandma.
"Guys, I'm sorry, I don't think I can have lunch with you. I suddenly have urgent business. Don't worry, put the tab on me." With a calm smile, she waved to them and left the room. She did that in a flash; no one has a chance to stop her from going.
Mel walked hastily towards the parking lot with uncertain thoughts. In no time, she seemed to return to the past; when her car hit, she could hear her mother's voice calling her name. Her heart is racing but also felt very heavy; her vision suddenly becomes blurred.
Instantly the surroundings became silent, and everything went dark.
She fainted.
