Chapter 19: Will You Date Me?

Daisy was in her room, counting the money Giorgio gave her earlier. It was such a large amount! She counted and added to her existing amount. She did some calculations and the results were right there: more than three-quarters of the debt was fully paid! Only two or three more months and it would be over, Daisy initially was euphoric about that. But then she realized: and then what?

What would happen? Giorgio said she could live there, but she couldn’t just abandon her job as a police officer. But she loved Marco! Ah, the turmoils of choosing… Daisy was gradually getting more and more nervous when she heard a knock on the door.

Daisy opened the door to find Marco there, chewing on some onion ring chips.

“Hey there, I hope to not be interrupting anything,” Marco smiled.

“No, nothing, come in,” Daisy replied, kissing him on the cheeks, and taking one of the chips.

Marco noticed a large amount of money on the bed.
