Chunin Exams (9)

Alright, I made a mistake in the last chapter with Akado, I don't know why I thought he had already defected, but seeing as he wasn't that important I'm going to leave it as is.

" Well, that was boring." Daiki says looking at Kankuro walking off the stage.

" The hidden sand has some talent." Kakashi adds.

" It's not surprising, you can't expect only the hidden leaf to be blessed with young talent." Daiki says as he looks at Ino.

' That fight happened in the story, since Choji got a different fight I just assumed all the fights would be different, but I guess not, if she ends up against Sakura again I wonder what's going to happen. Well I know what's going to happen the pink-haired brat is going to get her assumed beaten, I really wonder who she'll take it." Daiki thinks as the names of the next two competitors appear on the screen.

Ino Yamanaka vs Sakura Haruno

" Hey, Ino it seems like you're going to fight your friend again." Choji says in-between stuffing his face with chips.

" Why is it her? At least I'll get an easy pass to the finals." Ino says as she vanishes and appears on the ring.

" She doesn't seem to be any stronger than the last time our teams fought." Shikamaru says as Sakura enters the ring and stands in front of Ino.

" You're right, it's almost as if she had no training." Daiki adds not caring about Kakashi next to him.

" Hey, Sakura is going to win you can believe that!" Naruto shouts.

" One second." Choji says before stuffing a handful of chips in his mouth.

"Huh?"

" The match will be decided in one second." Choji adds as he wipes his mouth and looks at the stage.

" No way, Sakura isn't that weak." Naruto says.

Choji no longer responds, as the leaf jonin present all look curiously at the stage.

Seeing he was no longer getting a reply Naruto turned his attention to the stage.

" let the match begin."

Clap!!!!

Ino clapped as the sound spread throughout the venue and Sakura took a fishing stance, Ino smiled and folded her hand across her chest.

" Sakura we used to be such good friends until we started going after each other for a boy, but I've passed that stage and come to realize what's really important I hope one day you can understand as well, and we can be real friends again." Ino says as she turns and begins walking away.

As she took her first step Sakura's hands were in a fighting position fell limp to her side, and then her body swayed before finally her eyes closed and she fell to the ground.

( Sakura POV)

' Look at her in a team with Choji and Shikamaru while I'm with my Sasuke, I bet she's so jealous, but this isn't the time to fight over Sasuke, I lost to her already I can't lose again this time I stand as a shinobi who doesn't want to lose to her.' Sakura thinks looking at Ino waiting for the referee to start the match.

" let the match begin."

Taking a fight stance I get to strike focusing chakra into my feet to burst forward.

"...."

'Why can't I move?' Ino asked herself as she sees Ino smiling with her arms folded.

And as Ino spoke she Iched to answer her back but he was paralyzed and could feel it was getting harder to stay conscious before everything turned dark.

( Normal POV)

" This match has ended, the winner is Ino Yamanaka."

" What just happened?" Naruto asked.

" Genjutsu, Ino used the sound of her clap to put the unsuspecting Sakura under a genjutsu." Kurenai answers.

" You're right, but it was something she should have been able to counter, Sakura shouldn't have been defeated so easily by a low-level genjutsu, that leads me to believe it wasn't so simple." Kakashi adds as he turns and looks at Daiki.

" You're right, the genjutsu was just the surface, Ino used it to bring out Sakura's panic and confusion, which was tinkered with a bit making it impossible for Sakura to think things through, she probably didn't even realize she was under a genjutsu before she passed out." Says Daiki.

" Casting genjutsu through sound and being able to control it to such an extent is amazing for someone her age, though what she just did wouldn't work on a chunin or even an experienced genin." Kurenai adds.

" I agree, but she is still young, and with me teaching her it won't be long before her usage of genjutsu reaches a level even a kage should be fearful of." Daiki says looking at the newly returned Ino with a smile.

" You did well."

" Thank you Daiki sensei." Ino says with a smile.

" You should be low on chakra now, so just relax, after all using the little speech you made to her to control the genjutsu must have been taxing on you."

" I'm fine, it was worth it, I just want her to get stronger, and I'd the fighting intent I saw in her eyes were anything to go by she will." Says Ino.

" That's good, now only Shikamaru is left, I hope his match starts soon I still have something to do." Daiki whispers.

Soon Sakura was off the stage and to the hospital, while things were about to resume.

( Hokage office)

" Has any traces of Orochimaru been found?" The third asked the anbu kneeling in front of him.

" No sir, the last traces were yesterday outside the village."

" What about the Kazekage?"

" Sir, since leaving yesterday it has been reported that he passed through the border and is indeed back in the land of wind."

" Losing traces of Orochimaru outside the village and the Kazekage suddenly leaving can't be occidental."

" For now, up the anbu activity around the village, and put the border team on alert to any strange activities."

" Yes Sir." The anbu says as he disappears.

The third then looks at the spot where the anbu disappeared and then takes a file from his desk, and looks over the contents.

" Danzo has pulled back a small number of his root shinobi, it's not large enough to draw attention but at this point in time, any action is suspicious, I should have Daiki make a check."
