Daniel and Jenni Meeting (2)

For a moment there was silence between the three of them.

So what about Jenni's response to Jaden's request?

Before Jenni had time to answer Jaden's question, the waiter stopped the awkwardness and also changed the flow of the question asked by her son.

She doesn't know why she gets nervous about saying yes and such, Jenni doesn't want that in the future she's the only one who wants Daniel to come back to her, while Daniel doesn't want her.

She didn't want to be like that!

It was enough for her to make Daniel hurt in the past.

"Mom, is Mommy mad at Jaden?" Asked her only son who suddenly felt uneasy, and felt that there was tension between the two of them.

Oh come on Jaden doesn't understand the situation at all, so can Jenni and Daniel be more mature for Jaden's sake?

That's what should happen, isn't it?

Jenny took a deep breath. She realized Jaden shouldn't be in the circle of adults who might be difficult to understand for a three-year-old boy.

"I'm okay baby, Mommy's not mad at you, we're good friends, aren't we, Daniel?" Jenni whispered to Daniel who hoped that Daniel could take on his role without the need for her to discuss beforehand with the young man in front of Jaden like now.

Daniel with his sincere smile showed to Jaden, with his hand caressing Jaden's head gently.

"Your Mommy is right, that it is true that we used to be good friends, even I have known Mommy when she was in college."

Jaden tilted his head slowly as if he was thinking hard about Daniel's words.

"So you know Uncle Edward and Uncle Axelle well?" Jaden asked Daniel.

Daniel reflexively nodded his head. For a moment Daniel felt there was nothing odd about Jaden's words.

Until...

'Since when did Jaden know these two? If Jaden has known the two of them for a long time, doesn't that mean both of them have known Jenni's whereabouts all along?' Daniel was surprised by the brief statement from Jaden.

Jenni's heart was beating faster and faster. Oh come on, she doesn't know if everything will get more complicated and complicated just because of questions from her son who is too smart.

"You've known them for a long time?" Asked Daniel who focused on looking at Jaden very communicatively.

Jaden gave Daniel a quick nod of his head accompanied by a thin grin.

"They've known me since I was born, it seems, sometimes even uncle Edward or uncle Axelle are mistaken for my father, even though they are not my father, Mommy has never told me about Daddy since I was born."

Jenni's lips suddenly went numb, her throat seemed to be constricted, not to mention her breath was heavy.

Daniel glanced at Jenni who looked bad.

"Are you okay Jen? Sorry if my question to Jaden is too sensitive for you," said Daniel feeling uncomfortable with Jenni while rubbing Jenni's hand which was on the table.

Jenni couldn't say anything, other than a stiff nod Jenni gave Daniel.

'What really happened? Why does she seem tormented when I ask Jenni? Was she living with her husband after she broke up with me? Or maybe-'

Daniel hung his sentence trying to stay calm and rational. He didn't want to be emotional this time.

After so many years he was finally able to meet Jenni, which meant that he couldn't waste it, right?

That's what's on Daniel's mind right now.

It took Jenni some time to calm herself in a rage.

"After this, I need to have a one-on-one talk with you," said Jenni, who sounded serious and half-whispered with her eyes staring at Daniel.

Daniel who heard this of course nodded his head in agreement with Jenni's request.

After all, Daniel himself also needed to talk to Jenni one-on-one, without Jaden knowing.

"Looks like Mommy and Uncle Daniel have a secret huh?" Jaden asked who had been watching the interaction between the two of them.

Reflex Jenni and Daniel also chuckled together hearing those words.

'Gosh why is my son so smart,' Jenni whispered in her mind.

Jaden frowned in confusion and soon laughed along.

"Mommy, can we invite uncle Daniel to eat together again next time so we can laugh like this?" Jaden whispered, realizing that his heart was now happy with the atmosphere that happened today.

Jenni looked at her son, and before long she told Jaden that she had to ask Daniel's permission herself because she didn't know how long Daniel would be in the country either.

Daniel noticed that Jenni seemed to give him the green light, of course, Daniel quickly said that whenever Jaden wanted to take him out to eat with him he would spend as much time as possible, without Jaden needing to know that his real plan was to be there only for no more than a week.

He would think about it later the next time Jaden called him.

"Is that true?"

A nod of Daniel's head gave Jaden.

"Hey, don't promise him too much, Jaden is still a kid, I don't want him to force his will on you later," Jenni reminded Daniel.

A smile Daniel gave to Jenni.

"It's okay," Daniel said to Jenni. "Because I have promised him, then I will keep it, Jen," continued Daniel, who looked full of sincerity.

If Daniel had said so, then Jenni couldn't deny it. She knows very well that Daniel is a person who keeps his promise, it's just that she is the one who slightly betrays Daniel because Daniel seems to be dishonest with her, over the identity issue that the young man is hiding from her.

"Thank you uncle, I'll call you on Mommy's cell phone later," Jaden said cheerfully.

Jenni couldn't help but smile bitterly. This was the first time he saw a different side of Jaden who casually told Jenni that he needed a father figure, even though Jaden seemed to not care about him at all.

She still remembers well that every time she asked her son about her father, the son always turned away as if he knew how she felt.

Then what she saw now was just the opposite!

'It turns out that you are very sensitive to know who your real father is. You're as smart as your father son. No matter how I separate you, it's as if you both know each other.' Jenni's monologue in her mind for a moment looked at the two of them alternately.
