Daddy

"Dad... Daddy?"

Surprised Jaden stood frozen staring at Daniel.

"Yes, hello ... I'm your Daddy, baby," said Daniel trying to win his son's heart.

Jaden quickly shook his head.

Wait...

What is it? Why does Jaden seem to refuse Daniel to be his father? Wasn't Jaden happy with Daniel before, even wanting to unite Daniel and Jenni? Then why now...

Questions like that are now starting to swirl in Daniel's head. He was confused about what he should do. He was not used to taking someone's heart, especially this time it was a child who was none other than his own flesh and blood.

"What's wrong baby?" asked Daniel once more trying to get closer to Jaden.

"No, calling 'baby' is only for my Mommy, uncle, not Mommy so just call me Jaden."

Jaden's firm words certainly cause deep pain for Daniel, who seems to be being dumped by his beloved, exactly the same as the feeling when he was dumped by his lover Jenni.

"Baby, what's wrong? Don't you like your Daddy? Didn't you say you liked Uncle Daniel?" Jenni softly who is now starting to speak asked it heart to heart with Jaden who is still standing looking up at his mother.

Jenni couldn't help but look at her son full of confusion and immediately carried Jaden.

Without a gesture of refusal, the boy tightened his grip on Jenni's neck.

"Mommy, I'm tired, I want to sleep with Mommy," Jaden said half-whispering in Jenni's ear.

Inevitably Jenni, who heard from her son's mouth directly, could only say yes.

"Niel, it seems Jaden is tired, I will accompany him to sleep first," Jenni whispered to Daniel.

Daniel could only nod his head, though to be honest, he wanted to be with Jaden longer. He was a little disappointed because his own son did not seem to accept him.

Does his son feel abandoned by him? Or is there another reason his son is like that?

Daniel didn't want to be wrong in concluding the reason his son had changed drastically for him. He could not accept the fact that his son did not expect him.

"Baby, can Mommy ask before bedtime?" Jenni asked her son who was now lying on her son's bed.

For a moment Jaden thought critically about the answer he would tell Jenni.

Before long, her son, who previously seemed to have his back to Jenni, now looked at Jenni as if waiting for a question from Jenni.

"Why was baby like that? Was Mommy or Daddy wrong with baby?" asked Jenni carefully caressing her son's cheek.

Jaden was silent and stared at Jenni even more closely.

"Mommy, isn't Mommy mad at Uncle Daniel? Is Mommy all right?"

Thump!

Jenni gasped for a moment, unable to say anything.

So her son was acting like that out of thinking about her?

'Good grief! Did my son do something like that out of thinking about me?'

Jenni quickly hugged her son and kissed her son's cheeks.

"Baby, if Mommy is angry with your Daddy, of course, Mommy won't let him come to our place, because maybe Mommy doesn't want him to meet Mommy's smart son, but because Mommy isn't angry, for that Mommy chose to introduce him to you, after all, it's almost four years Mommy kept a distance from your Daddy because of our past, and Mommy thinks it's time for you to have a Daddy."

Jaden's eyes filled with tears, he didn't know if his mother was so proud. The little boy really didn't know about his mother's past problems and his father's, it's just that when he heard his mother's words where it was implied that they had forgiven each other, of course, it became a little happiness for him. Honestly, in his deepest little heart, he felt happy, because in the end, he had a father who he had previously hoped for the young man to be his father.

Beyond his expectations, the person he hoped for actually became his real father. Wouldn't that be a happy coincidence, wouldn't it?

"Is Mommy really okay with Uncle Daniel? Can I call him Daddy?" Jaden asked cautiously.

His feelings are still raging. He is indeed happy with Daniel, it's just that if he chooses Daniel or Jenni of course he chooses Jenni. He knew exactly how much Jenni understood and loved him.

Jenni is everything to Jaden.

For Jenni, her world is Jaden alone, if Jaden wasn't in the world, maybe she would be much more depressed, and think she doesn't have anyone.

She did have Daniel before, it was just that she felt lied to by Daniel, and thought that she was being toyed with by Daniel easily, even though from Daniel's point of view that was not the case.

He loves Jenni as she is, and in his life, only Jenni can see his heart, there is no one other than Jenni that he allows into his heart.

"Of course Baby, Mommy will be happy if Baby accepts Daddy's presence," Jenni said sincerely.

"Is that true?" asked Jaden who looked at Jenni who was a little doubtful about his mother's words.

"Of course baby"

Unbeknownst to both of them, Daniel had been eavesdropping standing in front of Jaden's door, trying to listen to the conversation that was going on between the two of them.

The clear liquid was now unbearable. He was touched by both of them. On the one hand, he is happy because Jenni has opened her heart again, and on the other hand, he is also happier because Jaden, who throughout the conversation called him 'Uncle', is now calling him 'Daddy', doesn't that mean Jaden has also accepted him?

Daniel who couldn't just stand there without hugging the two of them finally chose to wipe the liquid on his two eyes and knocked on Jaden's door.

"May I come in?" asked Daniel in his hoarse voice.

Silence...

until ...

"Come in."

The little boy's voice was heard from inside the room.

Daniel's footsteps felt very heavy, he was still afraid that his son would not accept his presence again.

Jaden who had been lying down had now sat himself down, and so was Jenni.

"Daddy's walk so slow."

Thump!

'Daddy? My son really calls me Daddy?' said Daniel in his mind while stopping his steps with his eyes on Jaden who was smiling at him.

"Bab... Jaden didn't I hear wrong?" asked Daniel cautiously.

Jaden shook his head to Daniel.

"Mommy has allowed me to call you Daddy, so now Jaden has a father," Jaden whispered lightly with his small chuckle.

'I'm sorry if I hurt Daddy's heart earlier.'
