"Light is a bond, someone will inherit it and let it shine again..."
When Ren finished talking about the Ultraman storyline, Felix couldn't help but murmur to himself.
He had to admit, his teacher truly deserved to be called the "Father of Ultraman." Ren's ability to shape Ultraman was beyond Felix's reach.
Even though it was Ren's first time reading his script, Ren had quickly expanded and improved the story's logic, making it far better than what Felix had spent so long developing.
Especially Ren's explanation about the meaning of light resonated deeply.
Yes, light is a bond.
In Ren's narrative, there was no display of heroism or childish fantasy, only reality.
The story was about ordinary people, or rather, small characters' struggles and transformations.
The Ultraman hosts would feel fear, confusion, and reluctance, avoiding the expectations placed upon them.
This was what could truly touch the audience's hearts. Ren had turned a simple hero vs. monster story into one with a main theme.
Faith, protection, and growth—these keywords matched the characters Ren described.
"But, teacher, this story is almost fully formed in your mind, right? Are you really giving it to me?" Felix felt that Ren's enhancements made the story more rigorous and complete.
Such a complete setup could easily be used by anyone to create a similar work.
Ren waved his hand dismissively. "It's just a basic setting. The actual content still needs your creativity. My ideas came from reading your work, so you are the original creator, and I just added some secondary settings."
Hearing this, Felix was deeply moved. He looked at Ren with wide eyes, making Ren shiver and get goosebumps.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
It was as if Felix was looking at his lover.
"Teacher, if I were a woman, I'd definitely marry you!" Felix gave a thumbs up, showing his white teeth.
"Get lost! I'm telling you, focus on writing this script."
"Don't worry, teacher! I won't let you down!"
"…"
…
That evening.
"Ugh… it still hasn't gone down."
Jada stood on the scale, scratching her head in frustration as she saw the unchanged number from last time.
At that moment, she heard the door open and quickly tried to get off the scale, but she twisted her ankle and fell to the ground.
"Are you okay, honey?" Ren entered just in time to see this and quickly ran to Jada, lifting her in a princess carry and placing her foot on his leg, gently massaging it. "Be careful," he said with concern.
"Mmm..." Distracted by her weight gain, Jada nodded absentmindedly.
Noticing her distracted response, Ren looked at Jada closely. "Have you been feeling unwell lately? You haven't eaten much, and now you fell in the room. Should I take you to the hospital?"
"No need, I'm not sick," Jada replied, waving her hand.
"Don't be afraid to go to the hospital," Ren insisted. "You haven't eaten much of the crab I cooked for you. Are you feeling nauseous or...?"
A bold idea crossed Ren's mind.
Not eating much... could it be that Jada was pregnant?
It would be about time, considering how easily they conceived Yueyue.
"Could it be...?" Ren stared at Jada with excitement.
"What?" Jada swallowed nervously.
Could he have guessed that she had gained weight?
Most women don't want anyone to know about their weight gain.
"Could you be pregnant?" Ren asked, excitedly.
If she was, hopefully, it would be a boy! Then they could play Ultraman together, and he could pretend to be a monster for their son to defeat!
"No!" Jada shook her head. "I'm really fine!"
"Growl~~~"
But then her stomach growled, making the room fall silent, and a blush spread across Jada's face.
A moment later…
"What? Dieting?" Ren asked, puzzled. "Why would you diet?"
"Because I've gained a bit of weight..." Jada indicated a small amount with her fingers.
"I see… No wonder I noticed a tear in that queen outfit I threw away. It must have been from you," Ren mused.
Hearing this, Jada's face turned red. "Mind your own business!"
"Seriously, you're dieting over this?" Ren shook his head. "Besides..."
He suddenly reached out and touched Jada's stomach, lifting her shirt slightly.
Jada shivered. "What are you doing?! I'm already stressed out, and you..."
She was frustrated. She was trying to stay in shape for whom? For this man!
Instead of comforting her, he was making moves on her!
Angrily, she pinched Ren's side. "Get your cold hands off me!"
Despite the pinch making him grimace, Ren didn't let go. He even rubbed his face against her stomach.
"Haha, I should take my hand off, but I like this softness. If you lose weight, I'll be upset!" Ren said cheekily, licking her stomach.
"You're annoying!" Jada felt both tickled and embarrassed. "Do you really like me chubby?"
"Of course!" Ren's hand started to wander. "You fell into my trap! Why do you think you gained weight? Because I fed you so well! This was all part of my plan!"
Ren's tone turned smug. "I made sure you stayed with me forever, mwahaha!"
"Ah! So this was your plan all along!!" Jada slapped his hand away and stormed off.
"Haah..."
Watching her leave, Ren sighed with relief.
Being a man is tough, especially when you have to cheer up your dieting wife.
Meanwhile, Jada covered her face, laughing in the bathroom.
She knew Ren had said those things on purpose, but it made her happy.
