Beast Wave 7

The double Goblin Smash crashed into the Beast King's left arm, causing the massive creature to stumble a few steps over. The attack didn't seem to do any external damage, but the powerful strike shattered the arm and shoulder.

The party of six stared at the duo with amazement. "Our attacks could barely damage the big creature," muttered the bearded warrior who saved Jon earlier.

The now angry Moleman King unleashed a powerful skill. "Earth Stomp!" yelled the beast in his language. The massive creature lifted its leg and stomped the ground. A large fissure erupted, splitting open the earth in Jon's and Dirknooth's direction. The earthquake caught them off guard, and the duo lost their balance.

"Woah!" Jon exclaimed as he almost fell into the new crack in the ground.

Leaping at the monster and human pair, the Beast King activated his most powerful spear skill, Iron Shuttle Strike. The spear shot towards the two like a rocket. Dirknooth activated Goblin Smash to shield bash the spear with the iron pot lid. The two iron objects collided with sparks flying and Dirknooth sliding backward. The beast took a few retreating steps himself.

"Attack!" yelled the mage leader of the other group. Fireballs and arrows flew at the Beast King. Seeing the puny attacks, he swatted them away with his spear.

The Moleman King bellowed out, "Hoard, kill them." The actual threat to him was the creature and human duo. So the king decided to have his remaining grunts and foremen kill the group of annoying humans.

The remaining hoard rushed toward the six humans with bloodlust. They were glad to join the fray again. Soon all of them were surrounded by Molemen and realized how the village died as quickly as they did. The only two who could hold their own was Simon, the bearded warrior, and Shin, the mage leader.

The Beast King turned his attention back to the duo only to see one missing. The creature snarled at the human vanishing. Then he charges at Dirknooth to vent his fury. Brandishing the spear and thrusting it at the hobgoblin, Dirknooth could barely keep up with the spear strikes. Each one was deadlier than the last. The iron pot lid became hard to hold onto, but Dirknooth held on until the beast was right above the crack.

Several flying daggers emerged from the crack and pierced the creatures back. "Goblin Smash," yelled Jon as he kicked the ground to blast himself out of the fissure. Jon used his iron dagger to stab the creature in the spine.

"ARRRRRGHGHH," roared the beast in pain.

The knife perfectly stabbed the creature between its vertebrae, leaving it immobilized from the waist down. Collapsing to the Beast King's knees, the monster dropped his heavy spear. He reached back and grabbed Jon by the shoulder and tossed him a great distance. Jon landed with a hard thump and dislocating his shoulder in the process.

Seeing the opportunity, Dirknooth dropped the lid and grabbed his shovel with both hands. Thrusting the shovel like a spear, the bladed part pierced the monster's chest and pierced the heart. Dirknooth thought the fight was finished, but the creature smacked Dirknooth like swatting a fly. The hobgoblin tossed and tumbled even harder than Jon did just seconds ago.

"Fireball!" Flaming ball magic crashed into the dying king's back, where Jon stabbed him before. The attack burned the beast's last bit of life he had left. As the corpse began to burn, a notification rang out.

*Ding* **Game Event - Phoenix Guild slew the beast king.**

*All remaining beast must be slain to complete the event.*

The mage was pleased with himself, grinning ear to ear. His random fireball did the trick and last hit the boss. All the experience went to him, and his guild leveling them all up several levels. Simon looked over and was the only one not happy. The two who fought with their life on the line deserved the kill to him.

With the Beast King slain, the monster's loss a huge buff and were greatly weakened now. The gang of six humans made quick work of the reaming Molemen.

Jon paid them no attention and hobbled over to Dirknooth to check on him.

"You alive?"

The hobgoblin nodded at Jon. Dirknooth was disappointed that he failed to finish the beast off. Jon plopped down next to the monster and said, "Don't worry about it. We survived to eat another day." Hearing the word food, Dirknooth began to drool. He truly only lived to eat. Jon just busted out laughing, "Hahahahaha."

A notification cut off Jon's laughter.

The Phoenix Guild walked over to the two, just sitting in the middle of the battlefield. The mage stepped forward to speak for them, "Shame, we couldn't make it here sooner."

Jon shot the man a look, and his gut told him this guy couldn't be trusted. Dirknooth had reached over to a Moleman corpse and ripped off a piece to chew on while the humans talked.

"Yeah, we lost many people in this wave," responded Jon. "Where do you people come from?"

"You people? You are talking to your saviors. Show a little respect," interjected an archer.

"Now, now, Jii. Calm down. We are all players here." The mage said to his guildmate. He looked back at the man sitting next to a monster and replied to his question, "We hail from the Steel Kingdom. Our guild was tasked with assisting in the beast wave. Now that we have killed the Beast King and the hoard, you peasants can have back your village. Phoenix Guild, let us depart." The mage turned and left. The archers and other mage followed after him.

Simon walked over to the duo. "I'm sorry he is like that. I respect you, Dagger boy and monster."

"Let us go," urged the other warrior. "You know how Shin gets when we embarrass him. Simon rolled his eyes at the remark but left with the warrior anyways.

Jon looked at his monster companion and smiled. Dirknooth was shoveling in raw mole meat so much his face puffed out. Chuckling Jon opened his menu to look at his stats.

Before he could go through his skills more, a ForestRat ran over. "Hey, little guy. Thanks for the help today." If it weren't for the rodent distracting the Molemen at times, Jon would've been overrun at the gate. As if almost understanding, the rat nodded and ran off. Jon just laid back to relax from the tense event finally.
