Ramping up and gains

The next day astera received the news that the fifth fleet would set sail at the end of the month at the same time zorah magdaros hit's the sea for it's own journey. This wasn't good news for Alex as it meant he needed to ramp up his efforts to gain traits and grow again. While Alex didn't remember a huge deal of details about the main story of the game he did know that powerful monsters would start popping out of the woodwork like startled roaches when the fifth fleet arrived and he wasn't strong enough to safely handle that yet.

Alex had assumed he had at least another month to prepare but this new bit of information halved his original timeframe so he had to double his effort. The way he did this way by taking risk he wouldn't otherwise such as consuming nonedible things. Roya was losing her mind following Alex around for the next month as he went from having fairly understandable actions to performing insane actions like consuming metal dust and stone to literally stuffing his tail spike into a burning torch. There was seemingly no logic behind any of his actions as far as she was concerned and she had even begun to wonder if he had gone insane spontaneously.

Alex's actions paid off however as he generated and/or unlocked nine different traits and leveled up several others giving him the fifty points he needed to grow again a single day before the final day of the next month. [metal eater] , [stone eater] , [tempered bones] , [telescopic sight] , [crushing muscles] , these were the traits he had generated and unlocked during this time. [Enhanced ears] , [Accelerated healing] and [venomous claws] were the pregenerated traits Alex unlocked and he leveled up [fire resistance] , [thick skin] , [enhanced scales] and [sharp claws].

These sudden new changes caused his body to undergo a noticeable shift as a few traits fused together and appear. These fused traits were [lessor flawed dragon body] , [Apex muscles] and [incomplete hunter senses]. The first fused trait was caused by all of the defense based traits Alex had stockpiled at this point and was actually only possible because of the [tempered bones] trait. Before getting that trait the defense traits stacked but couldn't fuse due to the fact his bones were too weak to justify it. The second fused trait was from all of the traits he had targeting specific muscle groupings.

This trait was a godsend for Alex as it rearranged the muscles in his entire body into their most optimal form to fully utilize his body. This directly removed the need for specific muscles for his wings as they automatically grew in. It also simultaneously fixed the imbalance the rest of the muscles in his body had fallen into from the traits highlighting only specific groups. If before Alex's body was a mish mash of random power and strangely incongruent defense after gain these two fusion traits his body was a hegemonic and masterfully designed form of grace and power.

The final fusion trait was the fusion of his enhanced senses officially giving him the senses of a fearsome predator. Eyes like an eagle that could see through darkness , ears to catch even the faintest of sounds and a sharp sense of smell that could only belong to a reptile. these three fusion traits directly set Alex up for whatever monstrous path he chose in the future , a perfect foundation to build upon if you will. Once Alex started growing again this became clear to Everyone in astera as he now truly looked like a powerful monster.

The final length of alex for this growth was a mere ten feet even not including his tail that was now seventeen feet long alone. The biggest difference between this growth and those before it however was that Alex grew outwards as well now looking like a true dragon with a large muscular body covered in a thick armored hide of brilliant black scales. If before the growth Alex's head came up to a persons knees now he could stare someone dead in the eyes without looking up.
