Figuring Everything Out

Sirius was fairly new to the taking care of a child. Especially two of them. He knew how to take care of Harry and to make sure he isn't in over his head. But he didn't know about the little girl. She looked nothing like the woman who handed her over to him

The girl had darker skin and much more warmer tones to it. Her skin was like bronzes that's just been polished. Her hair soft curls that puffy out of her head. She was small and Sirius didn't know what he was going to do with her.

He has no idea how he could raise a muggle and magical child, but his new life starts today. Sirius had to change everything about himself as he knew Dumbledore will try and find away to put him into Azkaban for stealing Harry. Not only that but he had to make sure Harry didn't have the pressure of being famous in the wizarding world. While juggling a small muggle.

Though everything seem to be going easy for Sirius. Having finally found a name for the little girl. Mostly because Harry liked to call her Ely, making Sirius finally named her Elysia like he planned. Elysia Black to be more precise. Sirius official adopted both the kids as he didn't want the trouble of what people might think of them.

Muggles had always stared at Sirius both his arms covered in tattoos, as he walked two kids that look nothing alike. His hair no longer long having cut it to be more manageable. He tries to manages the kids. Even in the first day at primary school for Elysia, he found out she was "special" as the muggles call it. Elysia couldn't stop talking or speaking out of term. That she couldn't read properly because words didn't look right to here.

Harry on the other hand Sirius didn't have to worry as much about. Accidental magic Sirius knew how to fix. And Harry tries to help in every time he can. Acting as if he was the big brother. Though he was only a few months apart from Elysia.

The two of them were inseparable. Elysia followed Harry around like a puppy, everywhere they went. She was always rough housing with all of Harry's friends and it looked like he didn't mind. But Sirius knew he wouldn't be able to help Elysia properly when he gives the talk to Harry on the wizarding world. Elysia would lose the only friend she had.

It was early in the morning on July 31st, Sirius and Elysia were making breakfast for eleven years old Harry. Sirius was so busy trying make sure everything was alright, until there was a crash of a plate was on the floor. The moment he turns around he sees Elysia hands behind her back as plates were floating back into the cupboard. Sirius was in shock, Elysia never shown signs of magic before. He wasn't expecting something like this at all.

"Ely, what are you hiding?" Sirius asks, his eyes trained on her and not what was floating above them.

"When Harry did it you didn't ask him that? You're being unfair," Elysia huffs as she looks on the ground.

Sirius didn't know what to say. Especially when he wasn't sure about the fact that she's a witch.

"Now hold on a second. Just because I didn't ask Harry that doesn't mean anything at the moment," he says. "You're hiding your hands I want to know what's wrong?"

Elysia blinks as she slowly shows her. Her hands had small cuts on them from trying to pick up the broken plate. Sirius pulls out his wand and mutters softly healing her hands. He looks up at her pets her hair as he fixes the plate with magic just as she did.

"We're going to have a talk soon about this, with Harry. Can you wait until after dinner for me to explain it to you?"

Elysia nods, as she bounces on her heel. Sirius felt a slight relieved that Elysia was also a witch. This meant he didn't have to hide where Harry is going. Or leave her with a babysitter again.

The day went rather smoothly then Sirius had thought. Elysia seem to have forgotten about what he had said earlier as she plays with Harry. That only stopped when there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it," Elysia says jumping out of from playing.

She was much faster then Sirius and quickly open the doors. The second she opens the door stands McGonagall. Sirius halted at the door as Elysia smiles brightly.

"Hello. Who are you?" Elysia asks before Sirius could even get the chance to stop her from speaking.

"I am Professor McGonagall, deputy headmistress of Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry," McGonagall says to Elysia before looking up to Sirius. "I'd thought I'd be talking to a Muggle that you knocked up and left. I was not expecting you."

McGonagall walks in and stops midway through the living room. She saw Harry standing up from a pile of toys he just opened. Sirius watches the two his mind so focused on what would happen to both of them if he had to go away. But McGonagall says nothing as she goes to sit on the couch.

"Well it is best for me to explain it to both of you know. Though I assume Sirius has already started familiarizing you about the wizarding world."

The talk went on for a while to explain to Elysia and Harry everything. Harry took it well as he already knew bits and pieces from what Sirius had already told him. Elysia on the other hand was asking questions upon questions. Her curiosity was intriguing to McGonagall. She didn't behave or act anything like Sirius. Even now as McGonagall gets up to leave, Elysia was creating plans on what they were going to do when they go shopping.

"What's are you going to tell Dumbledore?" Sirius finally asked as McGonagall was leaving the house.

"Simply that he is in good hands. There is no need to worry Sirius," McGonagall says.

"How do you know for sure?"

"Because you wouldn't be taking care of Harry and Elysia if you did told You-Know-Who where James and Lily were staying."

Sirius went quiet at the statement. He never thought that anyone would believe him. Going into hiding was his best choice. Counting the fact that a strange woman gave him Harry and Elysia.

All this thinking he didn't even notice McGonagall leave and the kids going back to fouling around.
