"Anyway, here we are now." Mr Madison told his daughter who was busy wiping off her tears and smiling through it. "It's better to start filling me in on things I've missed out on. Birthdays, her birth, your life as a whole. I want to know more about my daughter and granddaughter before I leave this earth."
"Dad," Laurel called in between sniffles. "if I start telling you, it might take the whole day. A lot has happened in my life and in Nicole's. But I thank God that were still surviving."
"Well, then... It's a good I got nowhere to go and nothing else to do except stay here and wait. So I could actually put the time to good use and listen." Her father told her and she smiled wholeheartedly in spite of herself.
"Where do I start from?" Laurel asked as she relaxed into a storytelling mode.
"Start from the beginning." Her father replied. Laurel then launched into her story and started with the happy moments that got them both laughing hard.
