Her only comfort was inside of a VRMMO called Legend Conquerors Online. However, when she dies a while after her 18th birthday, Alexia doesn't expect to wake up in the body of her avatar in the game, Eris Vermilion. What will she do now? What secrets will she uncover about her origins? Will she wade through rivers of blood to conquer the realms like she did in the game? Or will Eris and her allies be overwhelmed by the dark threats that loom over the horizon?

Chapter Forty One: the Theocracy’s Worries

A couple of weeks have passed since Eris' battle with the forces of the Theocracy of Reogradia. Currently, the high priest is sitting inside of a large hall, at a round table, with five other individuals who are wearing outfits similar to hers.

One is an old woman with dark grey hair, wrinkles on her pale face, and bright green eyes. She carries a golden staff similar to the other High Priest, but her's has a purple jewel at the end. There's another, much younger woman with light brown hair, hazel-colored eyes, and tan skin. Her golden staff has a blue sphere at the end of it. There's an older gentleman with tan skin, wrinkles along his face, and a long grey beard. His staff has a red jewel at the end of it. Another gentleman has short red hair, green eyes, and tan skin. His golden staff has a dark pink jewel at the end. The last man has long, black hair that goes down to his shoulders, brown eyes, and pale skin. His staff has a green jewel at the end of it.

The High Priest that spoke with Micheal is the first to break the silence of the room, "I'm guessing that I don't have to explain why I've called the six of us together here today, right?"

"I haven't read the report, so can you just explain it?" asks the red-headed man.

The old man scoffs, "You're such a muscle head. It's a miracle from Reogradia that you managed to climb your way to the position of a High Priest."

"Enough!" says the black-haired man, "This is not the time to be arguing amongst ourselves. This threat is far more serious than we anticipated."

"Sariel is right," says the old woman, "Not only did we lose over seven thousand troops, but one of the Six Treasures of Reogradia was actually overwhelmed and destroyed."

"No way!!" Exclaims the red haired man, "It's not possible! One of the Six Treasures was destroyed!?"

"Indeed, Claymond," the platinum blond High Priest answers, "It was yours, the Sixth Treasure that was destroyed. I gave it to Micheal before he set out to investigate those ruins in that country of beasts, Rimore."

"You're saying that something living in those ruins was powerful enough to destroy the Sixth Treasure?" Claymond asks angrily.

"It's unthinkable," says the woman with light brown hair, "Since when did the vampires have an ally on their side with this level of power?"

"The Sixth Treasure is the weakest of all the Great Treasures, but even so, it's a massive dent in our country's military might. We need to destroy this being, now!" says the old man.

"We still do not know the strength of our adversary. For now, I suggest that we avoid the ruins and Rimore and focus on other areas such as the inhuman country of Kroll and the princess of Mikhail," says the brown-haired woman.

"Aria is right. The Mikhail Kingdom needs to be subjugated and Kroll needs to be destroyed. If we eliminate the vampire's allies, then not even that monster hiding in the ruins will be able to stand in our way," says the blond High Priest.

"You two have always been takers of the cowardly route. My treasure was destroyed! I say that the six of us go to this ruin city and the five of us that have treasures left use them to kill this beast! She may have fought off the weakest of them, but the other five of the treasures combined are unstoppable!" says Claymond.

"I second that," says the old man, "We have not faced a threat that the treasures could not defeat until now. We need to eliminate this threat immediately."

"I'll admit that the threat is dire," says Sariel, "But we can't act too hastily. What if this creature is powerful enough to fight off the other five treasures at the same time. What if this monster has allies that are just as strong as it is. There are too many questions that need to be answered before we go storming in."

"Indeed. I also believe that we should wait and watch for the time being. We should send spies into Rimore, Kroll, and Mikhail. Once we have an accurate measure of the beast's power, we'll be able to counter it," says the old woman.

"It's four to two. The decision is made. For now, we shall keep our distance until we've assembled enough knowledge and cut down this monster's list of allies," says the High Priest, "For Reogradia!"

"For Reogradia!" They all repeat before standing up from their chairs and walking out the room.

The High Priest goes back to the balcony where she spoke with Micheal and sighs, "This is such a hassle. I'm too young. I don't want the stress of this job to mess up my good looks. Hopefully Colton has better luck than I do in destroying that mouthy princess."
