CHAPTER 46: What should have never been in this world.

Once they came close to their destination the soldiers jumped out of their planes to avoid getting shot out of the air by the camps that were stationed around the outpost.

Since all of them knew that they needed to reach the base as fast as possible, no one tried to stop the inpatient demon rushing ahead. At this point they hadn't expected anything else.

Tough they couldn't help but fear if merely the souls of the opposition were enough the satisfy the fiend. Who was to say that if the war finally stopped, this creature wouldn't continue its killing spree?

The team naturally followed Sirin. They could hear the screams and gunshots from afar. When they arrived at the camp, they could see that this battle had already ended.

Flames engulfed the few buildings that were still standing, and the ground was littered with corpses.

At the scene stood Sirin, just staring at them, either seeking their approval or just out of curiosity how they would react.

Like this they continued. This time it was more obvious than the last that Sirin for some reason was actively seeking out the other soldiers, and every time he did, there would be no survivors. At this point Vran and their teammates were convinced that this creature was indeed just craving the blood and death.

With was true in a sense. Sirin needed the souls, and he could only get them through the death of a mortal. But the reason he was even more active in pursuing his bloodlust was because he wasn't completely certain if he could remain in this world long enough to harvest the souls he needed.

The traces of something else being out there were piling up. And yes, he genuinely wanted to fight it to test his strength. However, how could he be certain that he could beat it? He needed to make sure that it wouldn't be much of a loss if he ended up being send back to hell fighting it.

Although there were many of these camps, there weren't many weapons that could hurt Sirin sow. Which eventually ended in Sirin gaining a few hundred souls.

He quietly chuckled under his breath. If things went on like this, it wouldn't take long before he could turn into a human. How hilarious would it be to convince these mammals he was one of them? he looked forward to al the cool stuff he could convince a group of humans to work for him if they didn't know he was a demon.

Despite the various detours Sirin took the group reached their destination fairly quickly.

Suddenly Sirin halted his steps. The soldiers barely even noticed how the demon was hesitating, but Sirin could barely look away from the thing he saw with his soul appraisal. This thing was not a demon that was for sure. Its presence, though still far away, felt like that odd pure spot in the ruins of hell.

He had not suspected that this creature would be here. Not that it mattered much, he just thought he had more time.

Backing in went much like the last time even if there were more actions taken to defend this place. The humans tried to stop them but, in the end, there wasn't much they could do.

The only mayor difference that Sirin could find was that these humans didn't aper scared in the slightest, not even when they saw Sirin take the souls of their comrades.

While the group that had beef following Sirin eventually branched of, Sirin went to search for the creature.

It didn't take long before he did, considering how he already knew its exact location.

When he tore out the lost metal door, he saw it sitting on a mechanical throne. At first glance it looked like a lady with long white hair, pure white eyes, and black feathered wings behind her. But this appearance couldn't fool the eyes of a demon.

It didn't look humanoid at all. A thousand wings and eyes that formed the shapes of horror beyond what any mortal could imagine. It was an abyss, a maelstrom of marvellous forms. And yet it was beautiful. For in the end, beauty is just the line of terror that we can bare. Sirin admired the creature for the fact that it had not destroyed him yet.

However, there was something odd on this display, something that just didn't feel right. 'Fallen' was the only word that Sirin could come up with to describe this oddity. And despite how he thought this thing was beautiful, he could only feel the hatred for it. Likewise, the creature looked at him with as much disgust as he looked at it with admiration.

"What kind of abomination are you?" It asked. Its voice drenched in mockery.

In a flash it appeared behind Sirin and grabbed him by the horns to lift him up.

With a fierce slash it hit him in his upper back and the impact forced him to reveal is wings.

It stopped for a moment to inspect them. "Ah, I see. You are the offspring of the fifth seal and that traitor."

It laughed. "I wonder, can I redeem myself by erasing the thing that should have never been brought in existence in the first place. No, if I wipe away this mockery of everything divine, the gods might even allow me to ascent as the new arch angel. The red god surely pulled the chains of fate in my favour."

At this point Sirin kicked the creature and used the force of impact to break free from its grasp.

Once he hit the ground again, he flinched in pain and stared defeated at the piece of his right horn that had broken off.
