A new beginning

A few minutes later, the nurse returned along with the doctor. On the way, she had already explained to the doctor about the patient's condition and hence, when he entered the room, he had a serious look on his face.

"Umm.... do you remember your name?" Dr. Sun questioned.

Bai Liyue wanted to nod and tell her name to him. However, she paused after recalling the nurse's strange words and her weird thoughts. What if she had really transmigrated into some other person's body? Though it sounded quite unbelievable but what if it was the truth. Hence, before saying anything she decided to look at her face in a mirror and then give any answers.

"Can I.... can you give me a mirror?" she asked the nurse.

The nurse gave her a puzzled look. Even the doctor cast her a strange look. With a sigh, Dr. Sun gave her a reassuring look. "Miss, your face is fine. I mean, there is nothing wrong with your face. You look as beautiful as you were before the incident."

Bai Liyue nodded after listening to his words but remained stern about her request. "Can I get a mirror please?" she asked again.

Dr. Sun hesitated and looked at his patients for a few more seconds before nodding at the nurse. The nurse left. When she returned, she brought a mirror and held it in front of the Bai Liyue. Bai Liyue thanked her and looked in the mirror. The moment she saw the unfamiliar face in the mirror, she gasped in surprise and disbelief.

She touched her face, clearly not recognizing herself.

Who was this beautiful pale girl in the mirror?

She didn't know.

The girl in the mirror looked beautiful with her long brown hair and big black eyes but it was not her. She really did transmigrate into some other person's body. A gasp left her pale lips when she thought about her old body, her old life.

She was.... she was dead!!!

That night, when that mysterious masked woman pushed her, she died. And her soul was now invading this body and living inside it. Oh my God!!! This meant that the person whose body she has taking over was also dead. Now, she was living inside this body as that person. Now, she understood why the nurse was calling her by that unfamiliar name and sounding like she was talking about someone else.

Because now she was that SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Bai Liyue was already dead. She was dead for the world, dead for her family, dead for Qin Yufeng, and dead for everyone else. A tear slowly trailed down her left cheek when she thought about her loving family. She wondered how they might be coping after her death. And, what about Qin Yufeng?

How was he?

Was he doing well?

She got worried thinking about his craziness. He was already crazy when she was alive and now after her death, she wondered if he had done something crazy. Knowing his nature and personality, it was quite possible. Though in her heart, she hoped that he would move on in his life and not hang onto her death. After all, two years passed by after her death.

So, Qin Yufeng should have given up on his obsession with her, right?

"Miss.... miss... are you okay?" the nurse asked, shaking her arm gently.

Bai Liyue blinked her eyes and wiped her tears away. Though the information was too much for her, and it made her feel a little dizzy, but after taking a deep breath she felt a little better. "I am fine," she told the nurse. "Thank you."

The nurse smiled at her. "Miss, trust me. You look fine. I know celebrities like you are always worried about how they look. But, you just woke up after two years and that's why you look a little pale. However, if you take care of yourselves, do as you are instructed, and recover properly, you'll look even better in no time."

Bai Liyue nodded.

Dr. Sun coughed. "Miss, can we continue?"

Bai Liyue nodded again. "Yes, please."

"Do you remember your name?" he asked.

"No," she answered.

"What do you remember? Do you remember anything about the incident, or before the incident? About your family, your fiance, or your life?" he questioned.

"Nothing," she shook her head.

"Do you feel any pain in your head?"

"No."

Dr. Sun nodded. He made a quick note on his pad and continued to ask her more. Bai Liyue calmly answered all of the questions and listened to his feedback carefully. According to the doctor, she needed to stay in the hospital for a few more days to nurse her health back and to also do a few more tests.

Bai Liyue agreed with the doctor. Though she knew she had no memory loss, she had no other option but to continue with this lie. Now, she couldn't tell the doctor that the previous owner was dead and a new soul was living inside this body and that's why she had no memories of this person's life. If she said so, she was sure that the doctor would probably think that she was mentally insane.

Hence, it was better to work with the lie that she had lost her memory.

At the same time, she also wanted to make sure that her body was perfectly healthy before she stepped outside the hospital and deal with her new life. She had already accepted the fact that she woke up in another person's body. Now, this was her body, her new life. She was sad about her past life but also grateful for this new chance.

With this new chance, she would live the life she always wanted.

She was a free bird. Now, there was no contract, no husband, no chains and shackles holding her back. She was going to live her life to the fullest, free from every bondage and do what pleased her. She was not going to be anybody's puppet anymore. She was free to dream and fulfill those dreams.

From today onwards, this was her new beginning.

From today, she was going to walk toward her dream to become a wonderful actress.
