And so it ended with Jenna and Wendy at the kitchen preparing dinner, and Seth was sent to do his mother’s bidding - to set up a three foot tall Christmas tree they’ve bought earlier.
“Mom, I’m not going to be here forever. What are we going to do with the Christmas tree when I go back?” Seth murmured, tad peeved he had to do the decorating part.
“The Christmas tree costs nothing compared to your shinny blue car. And don’t forget to hang the lights,” Wendy commandeered.
Seth shot an evil look over. Jenna laughed. “Yes, ma’am. I’ll go get the dang dangling things.” Seth disappeared from the kitchen.
“Seth’s a nice boy,” Wendy said to Jenna after making sure he was out of the kitchen. “He might look tough on the outside, but I know my boy better than anyone else. He is softer than cotton.”
Jenna smiled and whisked the eggs.
