G started to attack, making water fists to rapidly slam into Roxin, however they evaporated as soon as they made contact with the heat barrier. So he changed it up and shot out a wave of water from his gills to propel himself like a rocket with his head hardened with chrome, and Morgan blasted arrows out from the earth, but the attacks didn't work, and Morgan got a quick jab to her stomach, and G was thrown into her at the same time. Merlin caught them both and adjusted his glasses. "Okay, so my dad's quick. We'll just have to go with Zodiac Battle Arts and see if we can breach a weakness." he said as he hardened his skin till it shown like black chrome metal, then ran at his father and attacked with tai chi movements mixed with circular movements of his arms and body. Roxin only used his hands to block him, then caught his hand and slammed his fist into Merlin's stomach, forcing his heat to blast through the impact like a bullet. Merlin gasped for air, hunched over on the floor and feeling like he was about to faint. "This is how combat is kids, its ruthless and you will feel pain. While I'm merciful, your enemies unfortunately won't be. So you gotta have the intent to crush your opponent, and endure the pain. You'll stumble, but you'll get up." he said while standing in the same spot. Merlin smiled at him as his hand had a Sigil Ball creating a spell. Roxin jumped up from a massive ice fist that was aiming to grab him, and melted it with a punch of heat. "That's the ticket. Now what's-" he stopped short from seeing there were currents of water circling around him, full of tiny swordfish swarming in the current. G released them all, and Roxin had to bat them all away, but he was getting cut and overwhelmed by the sheer numbers. Morgan used her Domination ability to make sand from the ground to grab Roxin's arm and whip him around while going higher. Roxin smiled, and amped his power higher, causing the sand to turn to glass from the heat coming off his arms.

"H-how did he...that sort of heat is the same as a lightning strike. Just how hot is he gonna get?" Morgan asked herself, realizing that close combat isn't an option anymore or else they'd be burned to a crisp. Merlin thought of how to bypass his father's incredible power over heat. Then he realized something and readied a spell. "Alright, get him down here, I have an idea but it's not gonna work from far off." he asked his friends, and they both flew up to try blasting from above. G used an intense amount of water from manifesting his Magyk Zone completely, and Morgan commanded the energy of the air in the sky to create a high pressure blast of air mixed with water. Roxin punched back at incredible speeds, to where his arms seemed like a blur, but he was still being weighed down somehow. He then realized what Merlin was doing, he was absorbing the heat, transferring it through his body, and turning it to ice with the extra kinetic energy going out through the ground as a shock absorber. With the majority of the heat gone, Morgan landed a heavy kick to Roxin's stomach, slamming him into the ground. Merlin finished the spell and ran at his father to attack again. Roxin lifted his legs and began to spin like he was break dancing, and attacked all three at once. G was using shark teeth he manifested from the air, but Roxin was too fast and reacted faster than they could be spawned. When Morgan and Merlin managed to land powerful shots to Roxin's chest, sending him flying backwards, but he was still standing, however Roxin fell over and fakes being unconscious because using the heat burned through his metabolism and he was hungry. "Aaaahhhh, you kids beat me...we finished." he said. Merlin giggled and helped his father up, and went inside after chipping the ice to put in cups for slushies. "There's my sun lion, I assume you're hungry right now. I made pizza, go to town." Merlin's mom said. "My sweet Hydris, you are my anchor." Roxin said. Morgan was surprised because she never knew their names, and from the looks of it Merlin never bothered to asked their names either. Later on Merlin saw a picture of someone with feathers near his ears. Or rather his ears grew feathers, somewhat like an avian beastman. Merlin decided to morph his ears the same way, but accidentally gave himself a demon tail, werewolf forearms, fox like eyes with pink irises, sleek black fur going down his neck and down his legs but not covering his chest and stomach, fox like legs, and horns pointing backwards. He also notice his mouth and nose resembled something like a cat. Morgan noticed and looked surprised at his new form. "You too. You have...the core." she said quietly. Merlin looked confused, but then the book in his closet began to float, with it's pages fluttering rapidly and glowing brighter. It then started to transform and morph over his glove, forming a sort of band around his right hand, and on top it seemed to form a magick circle, with a sigil forming a pentagram. "What did it do? I feel like...all the knowledge from the book is going into my head? And what is this form? I look like a...I suppose I'd be a chimera or something." he asked himself. Morgan explained about his new form, calling it the Devil Core. It was essentially the power of a Dark Lord that can be transferred through powerful vessels. Which means that Roxis most likely has one as well, and a portion of it's power formed its own core. Morgan got one from her mother who battled a Dark Lord before. "Okay, but this grimoire. It can take on other forms other than a book and such. But...won't people be scared of this? I mean I look like some weird mixed up demon," he asked. But Morgan explained how there was more than just them with Devil Cores. Most Merlin Children had them as well so he was normal. "So you see, everything is normal. Now if you want, we can show your parents. I'm sure they'll be happy to know this. I know my mom was when I told her about this. And my lover. They're so cute." she blushed and held her arms while smiling. Merlin realized that trans people also exist in this universe, that or her lover was nonbinary. He felt it was rude to try and ask a sensitive question like that, but Morgan blurted out that her lover was nonbinary so Merlin's question was answered. "Don't worry, you'll meet 'em soon. Just have things to fix up and they'll be here to have fun with us too.For now, let's race!" Morgan said as she ran outside with G. Merlin ran outside and raced them both, running somewhat like a ninja.
