(Katsuo POV)
Lounging on my couch with Tom snoozing on my stomach, I decided to browse my interface. The sheer range of options—from world-ending weapons to a Mr. Meeseeks Box—never ceased to amaze me. If you had enough Points, the possibilities were nearly limitless. My gaze lingered on the Chakra option, priced at 700,000 Points. With it, I could potentially boost my training speed by learning the Shadow Clone Jutsu. However, mastering chakra control would require all my time, a luxury I currently didn't have.
Next, I examined Mana Heart and Mana Core, the former costing 875,000 Points, and the latter 800,000 Points. The descriptions offered insight into their respective advantages and disadvantages.
Mana Heart: Progression through meditation, personal growth, emotional development, and spiritual practices. It involved cultivating a deep, internal connection to mana.
Mana Core: Advancement through rigorous training, study, and structured practice. It often involved systematic enhancement of mana capacity and control.
As I considered my current situation, three needs stood out: a solidified framework for my swordsmanship, intense firepower, and, most importantly, stamina. Each path had its merits, but my decision would shape the trajectory of my growth.
While the Mana Heart seemed to align more with an internal and spiritual approach, the Mana Core focused on structured, disciplined enhancement of mana capacity and control. Given my immediate needs for a well-defined swordsmanship framework, increased firepower, and improved stamina, I leaned towards the Mana Core. Its emphasis on rigorous training and systematic enhancement seemed like the most practical route to meet my current demands.
Making up my mind, I set aside the Points needed for the Mana Core. It was a significant investment, but one that promised to address my key areas of improvement effectively.
After confirming my choice, I felt a surge of determination. With this new path laid out, I was ready to face the challenges ahead. Tom stirred on my stomach, his eyes opening slightly as if sensing the change in my resolve. I scratched behind his ears, feeling more prepared than ever to take on whatever lay ahead.

I reviewed my skill set in the simulator, scrutinizing each technique and identifying areas for improvement. My arsenal was formidable, but each ability had its limitations that needed addressing:
Judgement Cut and Rapid Slash: Coated in tri-elemental affinities, these were my primary heavy hitters. I needed to refine their execution for maximum efficiency and impact.
Enhanced Shunpo: My bread and butter for movement. I aimed to make my movements more seamless, enhancing both speed and fluidity.
Summoned Swords: Versatile but limited in number, as I could only summon eight at a time. Training to increase this number would significantly bolster my combat versatility.
Elemental Manipulations:
- Fire Manipulation: Lacked sufficient "firepower." The Mana Core would enhance this.
- Lightning and Electric Manipulation: Both were used primarily to boost speed and agility, limiting their offensive potential.
- Earth Manipulation: Primarily used for creating pillars, stone spikes, and disrupting enemy movements. More offensive and defensive uses needed exploration.
Pyrobolt: A great long-range attack but still needing more power.
Giant Sword: A powerful, stamina-draining heavy hitter. Efficient use was crucial to manage stamina consumption.
Stamina: The most critical aspect. Despite Infernal Clarity enhancing my mental processing, my body struggled to keep pace.
Training Plan
Refining Techniques:
- Judgement Cut and Rapid Slash: Focus on precision and power, practicing to minimize the delay between consecutive uses.
- Enhanced Shunpo: Integrate more unpredictable patterns and practice seamless transitions in movement to increase evasiveness and agility.
Increasing Summoned Swords:
- Intensive training to boost the number of summoned swords, aiming to double the current limit to 16.
Elemental Manipulation Enhancement:
- Fire: Utilize the Mana Core to bolster firepower, experimenting with higher intensity flames and explosive techniques.
- Lightning and Electric: Explore offensive capabilities beyond speed and agility enhancements, such as lightning-based projectiles or electric fields.
- Earth: Develop more complex constructs and defensive structures, as well as offensive techniques like earth-based projectiles and entrapments.
Pyrobolt Power Boost:
- Combine with elemental manipulation to increase destructive potential, incorporating tri-elemental affinities for amplified damage.
Stamina Improvement:
- Physical Conditioning: Incorporate rigorous physical training to increase endurance and overall stamina.
- Mana Core Integration: Utilize the structured enhancement to boost overall energy levels and mana efficiency, reducing the strain on stamina during prolonged battles.
Action Plan
Daily Training Regimen:
- Morning: Physical conditioning and stamina-building exercises.
- Afternoon: Technique refinement, focusing on Judgement Cut, Rapid Slash, and Enhanced Shunpo.
- Evening: Elemental manipulation drills and increasing the number of Summoned Swords.
Simulator Sessions:
- Use the simulator to create various battle scenarios, practicing new techniques and refining existing ones under realistic conditions.
Mana Core Integration:
- Begin the process of integrating the Mana Core, aligning it with my existing abilities to maximize its benefits.
Periodic Assessment:
- Regularly evaluate progress in each area, adjusting the training regimen as necessary to address any emerging weaknesses or areas for further improvement.
With this structured approach, I aimed to elevate my skill set and combat readiness, preparing for the formidable challenges ahead.

{Four Hours Later}
After getting dressed in my Dark-Blue Chic Knit Shirt, Black Jeans, and Black Chunky Sneakers, I glanced at the mirror one last time. The watch added a touch of sophistication to my casual look.
Hank's message about the change of plans to meet at a bar made sense; the pub's rowdy atmosphere might indeed be too much for the shy Natalie. I chuckled softly at the thought.
"The agenda for tonight? Getting laid," I thought, smirking. Six months fighting Orks without any form of normal human interaction could drive anyone mad, but I took it in stride, a testament to my resilience.
Tom, sensing my thoughts, meowed in both annoyance and approval.
"Yeah, I'm a sight for sore eyes, aren't I, Tom?" I said, crouching to scratch him behind his ears. He purred, clearly enjoying the attention.
"Well, bud, time to head out. Wish me luck," I said, grabbing my jacket. Tom meowed in response, as if giving his blessing.
Exiting my room, I felt a surge of excitement. It had been a while since I'd done something this normal. Meeting friends, making new ones, and maybe finding some intimate company for the night.

Arriving at the bar, I immediately spotted the usual suspects plus three more guests. Hank, Damysus, Valerie, and John were already gathered at a table. Damysus, a half-giant, stood out with his towering frame. Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly, Lisa was there too, accompanied by a green-haired woman. Natalie sat beside Valerie, looking a bit more comfortable than the last time we met.
I waved as I approached. "Hey everyone!"
Hank grinned. "Katsuo! About time you showed up. Looking sharp, man."
I smiled, taking in the familiar faces and the new ones. "Thanks, Hank. Good to see you all."
Damysus gave a hearty chuckle. "You look like you could use a good meal, little man."
"Tell me about it," I replied, shaking his massive hand. "Six months of fighting Orks will do that to you."
Lisa gave a nod of acknowledgment. "Glad you made it, Katsuo. I thought you might need some downtime before your next big mission."
The green-haired woman beside Lisa smiled warmly. "Hi, I'm Elara," she introduced herself. "Lisa told me a lot about you."
"Nice to meet you, Elara," I said, shaking her hand. "I hope Lisa didn't exaggerate too much."
"Only a little," Elara replied with a grin.
Valerie and Natalie greeted me as well. "Good to see you, Katsuo," Valerie said. "This is a nice change from our usual hangouts."
Natalie nodded, giving me a shy smile. "Hi again," she said softly.
"Hi, Natalie," I replied. "Glad you could make it."
As we settled into the evening, the conversation flowed easily. We shared stories of our recent missions, laughed about old times, and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were flowing, and the bar's lively ambiance added to the sense of camaraderie.
At one point, Hank leaned over to me. "So, Katsuo, you up for a game of pool? Or are you going to let Damysus keep his winning streak?"
I glanced at Damysus, who was already racking up the balls. "I think it's time someone put him in his place," I said, standing up.
The game was intense, with Damysus's sheer strength countered by my precision and strategy. In the end, I managed to sink the eight ball, much to everyone's cheers.
"Looks like you haven't lost your touch," John commented, clapping me on the back.
"Just needed a good challenge," I replied, catching my breath.
As the night wore on, I found myself sitting with Lisa outside, enjoying the cool night air. The conversation was easy, and we found common ground in our experiences and aspirations.
"You know," I said, looking at the stars. "It's moments like these that remind me why we do what we do."
Lisa nodded, her eyes reflecting the starlight. "It's good to feel connected," she said softly. "Thank you for tonight."
"Anytime," I replied, feeling a genuine connection forming. "Here's to many more nights like this."
As we rejoined the group, the sense of camaraderie and support was palpable. The road ahead was daunting, but with friends like these, I knew I could face whatever challenges came my way.
