Chapter 7 Hidden Class

Sitting at the back of the library counter, on top of a lounge chair was a thirty something year old woman whose focus was entirely on the book she was reading.

She had long blonde hair with sparkling emerald eyes. Her legs were hung on top of the counter as she leaned back on the lounge chair which held a bountiful pair of buttocks.

Seeing the lady who spoke, Lance could guess that she was the Maple leaf town librarian. After all, there was no one else in the library except the two of them.

"Its been a long time since this place has had visitors". The blonde lady said as she removed her gaze from the book in her hand and swept a glance at Lance. Her actions were only for a moment before returning to reading her book indifferently.

It had been such a long time, as she was the only one who ever came to this Godforsaken place. Seeing Lance who was only fifteen years old, she completely lost her interest and returned to her regular routine.

Lance however, was stunned as soon as he saw her face. If one could rate this lady's appearance, then she would definitely be an A class beauty that would cause men to fight over her.

From her sparkling emerald eyes to her pink, luscious lips to her small pointed nose, he only had one word for it. Beautiful.

"What the hell am I thinking?" Shaking his head, Lance proceeded to get rid of all other distracting thoughts.

"Well am just looking for something that catches my attention. Let's see if this library really has what I want".

Lance said with a slight smile. He didn't continue to bother her and just turned his head around and walked towards the rows of books on the shelves. He had a reason for coming here after all.

Seeing him walk away without any further reaction, Sharon, the librarian had her brows creased. Usually, when she walked on the road, even those matured men would look at her with burning gazes and salivate like hungry wolves.

However, Lance's eyes contained no sense of indecency within them. She could feel that his gaze held nothing but admiration of beauty.

"Hmm! Interesting!"

Seeing him walk up to the shelves, she turned her attention back to her book and continued reading.

Lance walked up to a table and looked at the silencer orb at the top of the pole. Sighing, he said.

"Technology really has gone a long way. Even an empty library has this kind of tech".

Following which, he walked up to the rows of shelves and started selecting books, most of them based on demon spirits. The books written on demon spirits weren't much in number, there were only a few dozen of them.

Looking at the books on demon spirits, Lance felt gratified. These books on demon beasts and demon spirits didn't go too far as they only stopped at silver tier, but for the current Lance, these books were precious treasures to be learned.

After picking a few books on demon spirits, Lance didn't stand on ceremony and started to pour himself into a sea of knowledge.

"Demon spirits are formed due to the extraction of the Demons soul from the Demon crystal".

"Integration of a demon spirit would depend on the physique of the host. A weak physique could lead to the body bursting if the demon spirit is too powerful".

"Only at Dark Gold tier do Demon spirits begin to develop abilities depending on their natural characteristics and body structure".

"Communication between the human and Demon spirit is implausible as...."

Lance began to research on the nature of the demo spirits. His main goal was to see if there had been any appearances of a system type demon spirit. But after going through a few books, Lance had not come across a single demon spirit that was similar to his present state.

"Just as the body physique is an important factor when integrating with a demon spirit, the health state of the body would also be considered important as well. For example, someone with a North Arctic disease trying to integrate a snow type demon spirit would have a hard time when advancing between realms".

This paragraph caught his attention as he one again took a deeper look into it.

"Perhaps maybe, this is the result of my physical constitution being somewhat special in a way".

Seeing that there was a possibility, Lance subconsciously followed down that trail. From the effects of different body conditions when integrated with different demon spirits, to what kind of diseases existed after the dimensional rifts appeared.

Unknowingly, Lance had drifted away from the subject of demon spirits and was moving into another field.

Sharon, who was still leaning had finally finished her book after a while. She looked over at his direction and when she saw what he was reading, she was surprised.

Beside Lance was a small heap of books that he had gone through and he was earnestly reading another one in his hands.

Various types of diseases caused by dimensional energy, Origin theory of the dimensional rifts, Characteristics of Demon beasts and demon crystals, Demon beast body structure.....

Seeing the books laid on the side, any random person would think that he had just casually skimmed through the books with no real interest in reading them.

However, she could feel that it wasn't the case at all judging from his seriously pondering expressions every now and then.

Meanwhile, Lance who had just finished another book suddenly received a system notification. He stared at forward I'm a daze for a while before excitement overwhelmed him..

Losing all sense of time, Lance had engulfed himself in the learning process. The last thing he had expected was to actually attain a Physicians subclass by just reading a bunch of books.

Not only was the physicians subclass extremely useful, it was also a very respected profession. In Aurora city, the four major powers were the Adventurers Federation, Alchemist Guild, Blacksmith Guild and Mech Federation.

The physician class was the lower stages of an alchemist occupation. Which means, Lance could already be considered a low level alchemist apprentice.

Ever since the Great Calamity, the various subclasses had risen along with the ashes of humanity. Medicinal pills were required by both demi humans and Demon Rankers and refining those pills and potions were the jobs of alchemists.

The very reason why the Alchemist Guild was a fearsome organization was because there was literally no Adventurer who didn't make use of medicinal pills.

The use of healing pills would be shown during life and death situations when an adventurer had sustained grievous injuries. Resistance pills to withstand extreme temperatures, elemental powers or even poison, and cultivation pills to help reduce the time and effort needed to break through to the next rank.

There was no nation who could dream of nurturing expert powerhouses without the aid of the alchemist association.

The ranks of Alchemy were divided into several sub stages.

Basic level Physician

Intermediate level Physician

Advanced level physician.

The first three stages were known as the apprentice stages whereby the physicians would get acquainted with the physical body structure of both humans and Demon beasts.

In the second stage intermediate level physician, one would be required to familiarize the different types of herbs, plants and elixirs as well as the effects of the listed items.

It wouldn't be the least bit surprising if someone was stuck in the second stage intermediate physician class for the rest of their life.

Familiarizing yourself with the effects of close to Ten thousand or more herbs was infinitely close to impossible. Without Yeats of hardworking, study, and a photographic memory, it would be impossible to go past the intermediate level Physician class.
