Column

A man who struggled and lived on earth reincarnated in a new world. When he was trying to become a county official, he was conscripted as a labor disciple from a cultivation sect. The novel is Xuanhuan type and written in first-person view. MC's past, his view on the world, his experience, and his way of life are described by adding some Memes in the Mix. Unlike the usual things that happened in Xuanhuan novel, MC doesn't have a cheat, Op Hax's ability, or Golden finger. Memes wouldn't be explicitly revealed for readers' enjoyment to find out themselves. Au Note, Meme songs would be properly revealed with (the singer - original song). I wrote this novel for readers who love Cultivation fantasy stories but are bored to see the usual cliche event.

Ch-10 Pandemonium inside the Storm

Inside the giant wave, newly recruited members became drowning rats by the sea wave. It wasn't over yet another wave hit us with more force intending to smash us down and pull us into the ocean.

Because of the insane stability of the ship, we were facing waves not only from the front but also from the Left and right.

The storm became more intense with frequent lightning and thunderclap. Many of us were crying and wailing. They were calling for help from their parents and deities.

"Mother. I'm sorry, I'm sorry for everything."

"Aaah..."

"Help me. Help me... Ni-san"

"Help, help...I don't want to die ."

"Dame da ne, dame yo, dame nano yo"

"Please, mighty sea deity. please forgive me."

"Ahhh... Ahh..you better stop. Ahhh"

"We all gonna die."

It's a living pandemonium. I didn't scream any words because it was pointless and exhausting.

Using all the strength left in my body, I firmly gripped the ship railing like a koala. Enduring wave after wave and catching my breath at every opportunity present.

The ocean waves became more violent and I hugged the ship guard railing with all my might.

When another giant wave hit the ship, chubby Mantou lost his grip. He flew backward and hit the person behind him with his body weight.

While Mantou was lucky enough to grab onto the ship hanger, the person behind him wasn't. He was thrown toward the ship railing. His skinny body slipped through the gap between the railing beside me.

My hands subconsciously grabbed him since it was a person's life and death matter. I got him at his calf which made an awkward position to pull him back. When the lightning flashed, I saw the face of a youth with a red iris.

The person hanging upside down was the psycho guy(rab dog). His head was bleeding and his hanging position make it even worse.

"Why did you help me," he asked.

"…" I didn't answer because I just did it subconsciously.

"Just release me, idiot,"

"Just because your body is slightly bigger than mine, doesn't mean you can withstand the waves while grabbing my weight at your hand. I can swim back to the ship."

"Swim back in your condition? What are you selling? Just climb up you idiot," I said annoyingly.

'If you have so much energy to talk why not shut up and climb back' I secretly voiced it out in my mind.

Red-eyed psycho and I made several attempts to climb back but our bodies were thrashed by sea wave after sea wave.

It is difficult to pull him up while holding his calf. I don't have much strength left from the start. My arms started to give up after holding him for a few minutes. My knees were losing their strength, shaking left and right.

"This is pointless. You are wasting my strength. Just drop me," he said.

Although I heard what he said, his voice has a lot of unwillingness, and both of us know it couldn't be continued anymore. None of us want to die yet.

Truthfully speaking I dislike him. This psycho killed three people in the first month. He never listened to my advice and warning. Even now, he didn't have a safety rope tied to his waist.

I despise him very much but... at this moment, I recalled this lad secretly eavesdropping on my story. I started to wonder why I am being repulsive against this youth without even trying to know his circumstances.

Maybe the reason was I had lived in a crooked yet civilized era. Where killing someone for survival is not very common. There must be a reason why this boy made a barrier around him. There must be a story or a secret behind his eyes that nobody knows.

Those red eyes are filled with extreme resentment about everything and everyone. Even now, this dog still has an expression like I owed some money to him.

'Do I really owe him something in my past life, ' I thought. I take a deep breath,

"Listen dog, I'm the boss here not you. I'll do what I want. I'm never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you," I shouted so he could be heard even with thunderclap noise. (Rick Astley-Never gonna give you up)

"Wait for a moment, at the time wave strike, you push the ship hull with all of your might, you hear me?" I said.

We waited for the right time, this ship might pass through another gargantuan sea wave.

Water buoyancy would make the body lighter but the force coming from the impact was too tough for my whole arms. I thought my arms were gonna break from the shoulder. I didn't tell him that I was already at my limit and this will be our last attempt.

When the wave struck, I held his legs with my two hands, leaving my safety on two legs and a safety rope. I pulled him using wave impact, seawater's buoyancy, and my whole body as a counterforce. Straightening my two legs and use my heels as temporary pin support and rotated all forces to my back. My movement was very similar to how a fisherman pulls back his net.

With effective use of physics, I successfully threw him back on the ship. When I was catching my breath, I saw Sanlang fall off the ship.

I was relieved that he wore a safety rope. I could pull him back to the ship after his body was bashed into the water.

However, there was an unfortunate event. As soon as Sanlang's body hit the water's surface, a current took him and swallowed his body. Snapping the safety rope with the sound of a bang.

I was terrified and stiffly shifted my sight to the water surface where our ship was heading in this storm.

There was a massive whirlpool, the missing keyboard player greeting from an 'isekai hell rock band' together with twin Dj brother tornados. Honestly, I don't remember what kind of atrocity I have done in the past, to be executed by this dangerously beautiful catastrophe.

Looking at the back of the senior wearing a gray scarf, the feeling of being trolled was unbearable in my brain.

' You bastard. You should have told us that a new world could be arrived through reincarnating.'

Without any other options to think of, I hurriedly tottered toward the mast. These safety ropes tied to our bodies are very resilient to tension and shear. I need to untie the ropes quickly.

If not, our spines would snap in a tug of war between suction forces from those tornados vs ship net weight. These ropes might even be entangled at the neck.

Luckily, there weren't many people who listened to my comment. I unfastened the safety rope one by one. Starting with the one tied to me. I felt ashamed and wanted to slap my mouth for commenting on unnecessary things.

Except for oceanic sect members, all of us were going to die as sacrifices inside the whirlpool and twin tornados.

The reason why I was doing this pointless endeavor was to add back a tiny little chance to survive.

Another reason was even if I died, I don't want to be the one that instigate the death of the people who followed my advice.

I already felt guilty when I thought about my fourth sister Si Si, Shrimp, and Sanlang. I don't want to add another person who started with 'S' anymore.

Our ship started to enter the whirlpool and circle around its parameter. As for the recruits on board, we were all flying without wings or got sucked into the tornados.

' Another one...And another one '.

The impression of entering a water tornado is more like being put into the washing machine.

These two twin tornadoes might be singing, "You spin me 'right round' baby right round like a record baby right round, round, round."(From Dead or Alive- You spin me round)

I couldn't open my eyes and of course, this music is just my imagination. All I heard was the sound of a heavy water current from my ears. I felt strange that I didn't feel that much hurt by the violent current. The scenery that my flesh and blood torn into shreds didn't happen as I imagined. After some minutes, my body was thrown back to the ship. Which was steadily rising between two tornados like an airship.

Looking around, I saw some recruits throwing back water they swallowed onto the deck. In a blink of an eye, the water was vaporized from the spot.

A bunch of human bodies rained down onto the deck.

"Ouch...Ouch."

"I'm alive. I'm alive."

I found many familiar faces were tossed back onto the deck including Sanlang. I'm glad that he is still alive.

While new recruits were cleansed and spat out from tornadoes, this dragon bow ship was rising in the air and about to pass through the gloomy dark clouds.

I thought I would be electrocuted by thunder. I shut my eyes and anticipated the worst. Yet nothing happened. Eventually, I opened my eyes. Then, the scenery I saw made my jaw drop to the floor.

The next chapters will be published weekly. Thanks for your interest in the novel.
