"And my parents didn't even know any of this was happening..." she continued again, laughing after that statement.

"When I turned eighteen newly, my dad threw this big party, invited all his friends and business associates but not a single friend of mine was allowed to come at first. I protested; told him I wouldn't be at the party if none of my friends were there so he said I could invite them. You would expect that my dad would throw the kind of party that I wanted since it was my birthday but no, he threw that party for his business partners and friends."

"When the party was almost at an end, he takes a mic and calls me to the stage. I was happy, honestly thought he would say how much he loved me or something like that, maybe give a speech about how lovely his daughter was but that wasn't it."

"My dad calls this other guy to join me on the stage, then he..." She paused and I heard her sigh. I could tell that she hated what she was about to say so I rubbed on the back of her palm before taking that hand to my lips and kissing it.

"My dad announced right there and right then that this guy and I were in a relationship, a relationship I didn't even know about..." She sighed again but angrily this time."That was when it hit me, my dad threw that party to tell his business associates that he was officially fixing me in a relationship with Jason. I didn't know him then, I didn't even know he was the son of one of my dad's business partners."

"I didn't want to accept it at first, I told my dad I won't start a relationship with Jason and I planned not to but then, somehow I...I don't know how but I found myself dating him. He would always come over to our house and try to please me and all that, I stupidly fell for that."

"To my dad's delight, I was dating Jason; I was dating the boy he wanted. It wasn't bad at the start, it seemed to be okay till this one time, I went through Jason's phone..." she paused again and looked at me."I know I shouldn't have, I shouldn't be going through his phone because I should trust him right? but then it was unlocked that day and I saw a notification, it was a text from a Cindy...he was cheating on me."

"I decided to ignore it, it was just a text right? It was just a text so I ignored it. Weeks later we are having this argument and I blurt it out, I asked him who the hell Cindy was and you know what he said? He said 'she's the girl who agrees to sex whenever I want it,' he fucking said that to my face, he wasn't even..." her breathing got heavy.

"Heyy," I didn't want her to go further, not if it was making her remember bad memories.

"He wasn't even remorseful about cheating, he said that to me like he didn't care if I was hurt by it or not. I wasn't a virgin back then but he thought I was because I never agreed whenever he wanted us to have sex but I had my reasons; I didn't want him to know that I wasn't a virgin. You see, my dad thought that I was because he never lets me leave the house without having the driver follow me around and I wasn't allowed to date anyone back then...so I didn't want Jason to find out, I was scared he would tell my dad that I wasn't his ideal virgin daughter."

"After he said that to me, I said hell nah, I'm not doing this, I couldn't continue with him. It was bad enough that I ever started dating him to make my dad happy but I couldn't have him cheat on me. I broke up with him. My dad didn't know about it, I didn't tell him, I didn't know how to tell him that I broke up with the 'good boy' he picked for me."

"Does he think you both are still together?" I had to ask because what she was saying was now seeming more complicated than I initially thought. I couldn't date her if her dad thought she was still together with Jason.

She laughed at my question, it was one of those laughs she did that made me worried about her sometimes.

"No. He later found out. Jason came over to apologize like about a week later, but I wasn't ready to listen to any of the things he had to say so he hit me, my dad..."

"He hit you?!" I stopped her from going on with her story when I heard that. I don't know how but I got angry and it reflected in the tone of my voice when I asked her.
