“Nah, usually stayed along the same line of latitude. Michigan, Wyoming, a few trips to the East Coast with my dad. Furthest south I’d been was probably Colorado when my dad and I went skiing before I moved off to college.”

“So you and your dad got along?” It was Owen who posed this question, much to Cole’s surprise. Owen has a faint wrinkle to his brow and his eyes seemed more focused on Daniel’s plate than Daniel himself.

“Yeah, we did,” Daniel said. He sighed with a bittersweet smile. “My dad owned a hiking goods store, so we were always going off on adventures together. Sure, we argued sometimes, but sharing a tent in the middle of nowhere for a week can make you pretty cranky, especially once the toilet paper runs out.” His smile stretched as he held back a laugh

Owen drummed his fingers on the table. “And he, uh, didn’t have any problems with…y’know, or did you not tell him?”
