Breakthrough

"Boom!". Explosion sounds entered Shasi's ears but only he could hear them, those sound came from inside his aperture! Piece by piece, the light wall crumbled, only to be replaced by a shiny and resplendent water wall.

Shasi didn't stop there, he continuously bombarded the light wall until there was nothing left of it, the Primeval Stones on his lap continued to shrink as he also decided to replace his jade green Primeval Essence with his new pale green one.

The new and improved Primeval Essence filled his aperture, giving him a purifying sensation, as if his body itself was being refined, seconds later, he opened his eyes. "Alas, my first actual step in the path of cultivation has been given...". Shasi thought as he now gazed at the stone that was placed by his side, on his bed.

"Blood Qi Gu... Even though it's a Rank 2 Gu, it's consumption isn't high and it's also self sufficient, since it's effects are blood replenishing and it also feeds off my blood... I should only have some trouble to refine it, but now... Now I have made a small fortune, and there's even 40 Primeval Stones left after my breakthrough...". Shasi thought to himself while immediately initiating the process to release the Gu Worm from inside its carcass.

"Ju Shuang Xue doesn't mention any killer moves using this Gu, but just it's base effect can be a life saver... I can also experiment it's use coupled with another Gu, maybe I can find something interesting...". He thought while finishing the opening process, Shasi didn't realize, but his attainment level in blood path was slowly increasing, it was still ordinary, but due to his constant use of Ju Shuang Xue's methods, it rose by quite a considerable margin.

After he got rid of the carcass, Shasi held a red cricket on his hands, it seemed fragile and like it was about to die. "Perfect time for refining!". Shasi exclaimed as he rapidly put the Blood Qi Gu inside his aperture and began infusing it with Primeval Essence.

Shasi was fully aware that the Gu Worm could die at anytime during the refining, and he would have to bear the backlash too, so he didn't waste any time and took another 110 Primeval Stones out of the Flowerbud Gu and put it on his lap, making a total of 150 coupled with the 40 Primeval Stones that remained from his breakthrough.

Primeval Essence from inside the stones got frantically absorbed into Shasi's aperture and then directly into the Gu Worm, making it tremble, Shasi's heart skipped a bit but it didn't make him pause the process, he could just feed the Gu Worm his blood and then refine it, but that would make it too strong and possibly require much more Primeval Stones to compensate for his low quality Primeval Essence.

As the Essence got sucked in, the Stones began vanishing, suddenly, only 90 stones were left, "Hmm... that was about 20 percent of the refinement... 150 Primeval Stones won't be enough! Sigh...". Swirls of wind gathered around him due to the sheer Essence amount that was being released

Shasi's heart bled as he mercilessly took out 150 more Primeval Stones and put it on his left, right now, only 600 out of the previous 1000 Primeval Stones were still inside the Flowerbud Gu, he decided to close his eyes for concentration, the rest of process would take a while.

Meanwhile in the medicine hall, the oldest of the Sha brothers, Shamo, stood with his eyes bloodshot, ruining his usual calm demeanor, he paced around a hall, seemingly waiting for a report on something.

With him, sat in a wooden bench, the regent leader of the Sha family sighed in his heart. "Sigh... to think that Shamo would be this enraged, maybe the death of his father really messed with him... This isn't the demeanor of a family head...".

"Haha good, good! That fucking bastard does have the guts! Next time I see him, I'll erase my family's greatest sham-". Shamo's thoughts got cut off by a medicine type Gu Master which opened the door of one of the rooms in the hallway.

"Lord Sha, you can come in". The Gu Master was a female, she was middle aged and dressed all in white, like a nurse, she bowed while talking.

Shamo barged inside the room without even looking at the nurse, only to get in and see his unconscious younger brother laid in a bed with his leg hung high, a whole the size of a golf ball in his knee slowly closed, flesh and bone regrew as three other medicine type Gu Masters worked on healing Shayu.

"Tch! Will he be fully healed?". Shamo impatiently inquired without turning his head.

"Ye-yes lord, after a few weeks of rest, he should be back to 100% percent". The Gu Master nervously responded, her breathing got messed up, she was a mere Rank 1 healer Gu Master, being next to the next head of the Sha family, naturally made her nervous, causing her to stutter.

"He better be...". Shamo glared at the female Gu Master and left the room, towards an unknown direction, he passed right by the current Sha Family regent without uttering a world, as if he didn't even put the man into his eyes.

"Where do you think you're going?". The Rank 3 Sha family elder calmly asked.

"Humph, that's none of your business, don't question me". Shamo coldly responded and rushed out of the medicine hall, heading west of the village, the area which only had two buildings, the Elders Council, and the Academy.

Before Shamo could reach full speed a tall figure appeared in front of him, as fast as lightning, blocking his path and making him stumble back.

"I won't allow you to ruin yourself, you can't just kill Shasi like that, are you insane?". It was the current Sha family head again, he displayed the full might of his Rank 3 cultivation to quickly catch up with Shamo.

"Sha Yidu, when I agreed to let you become the family head, I didn't have you the authority to get in my way, get out of my way, so what if I kill this scum? What will the Elder council do? Have me killed? Me, the Sha Family heir?". Shamo barked with killing intent in his eyes.

Sha Yidu's expression grew colder as he unexpectedly moved aside, "You are right Young Master, forgive my ignorance...".

Shamo hurriedly passed by. "Humph, a mere regent dares talk ove-".

"Puchi!".

Before Shamo could finish his mumbling, he felt a sting on his neck, he tried to raise his arm to check what had stung him, but his whole body became numb, his vision got blurry, before he passed out, he managed to look behind only to see Sha Yidu's stoic face turn into a devilish smirk.

"Pah". Shamo fell to the ground

Sha Yidu's smirk disappeared just as quick as it came, he moved his left hand inside his aperture and took out a strange Gu. "To think that it would be this easy... The high investment was worth it, Slavery Gu!"

He let the purple butterfly-like Gu Worm fly towards Shamo, it slowly entered his body through his belly, seemingly through his aperture, but it was actually entering his very soul, making it enslaved by Sha Yidu!

"Hahaha success! To think that I Sha Yidu would one day be the head of the Sha family! Maybe one day I'll become the head of the whole Ju Clan!". The Rank 3 Gu master laughed in his mind, he was middle-aged but his hair hadn't began graying yet, this was a show of his talent, it showed that he managed to reach Rank 3 at quite a young age.

Sha Yidu threw Shamo's body over his shoulder and like the wind, he vanished, leaving only after images, his speed was surreal, even Rank 4 Gu Masters would have trouble catching up.

Back in Shasi's dormitory, even more swirls of wind surrounded him, there were previously several Primeval Stones on his lap, but now, only 3 were left, they seemed bleak and almost devoid of any life.

"The refinement process is 99 percent complete, just a little bit more!". Shasi exclaimed inside his head, making the consumption even faster, the remaining three Primeval Stones instantly turned into dust, even the Primeval Essence from his aperture instantly depleted.

"Cough! Cough!". Shasi coughed two huge mouthfuls of blood, like he had never before, it shocked him to his core, he had never even coughed small amounts of blood in his life, not to mention huge amounts.

The Blood Qi Gu wasn't inside his aperture anymore, not even it's corpse. "Did I fail? Was this the backlash?".

Shasi's breathing got rough, he didn't knew what kind of damage this backlash had made to his body, this made him even more nervous, amidst the small chaos, Shasi's eyes were attracted to a huge blood stain on his bed, there was previously a small pool of blood on it, but now... It has vanished!
