Suzaku was about to continue moving forward to chase but the ceiling started collapsing starting from where the enemy machine was just positioned earlier.

She was already halfway through this underground passage though, but the Lancelot LAV can't dash out of this place and back to the Britannian side before the ceiling completely collapses on it.

She paled at this time as her body did not move on its own because she didn't have any training on how to deal with this kind of crisis.

All those instinctive moves earlier are thanks to her ruthless everyday simulator training starting from the time she was assigned as the test pilot of the Lancelot LAV.

"Burst out of there!" Lloyd's shout was heard as a communication channel was instantly opened in the UI.

Suzaku then quickly had some kind of eureka moment when he heard the word burst.

She quickly remembered the laser rifle that was just placed on the ground.

It is quite durable and is not damaged at all, just a few scratches from being dropped earlier.

Quickly taking it into her hands, she aimed it upwards.

The rifle is already cooled down.

Right, needing a cooldown isn't just a random bullish*t, this gun easily heats up after every shot, that's why it needs a cooldown before being used again.

Suzaku checked the control setting and conditions of the gun to see if what she thought was possible, and she quickly found what she needs!

As was said earlier, the gun takes the excessive energy of the Lancelot LAV same as the energy shield.

Then what if you put all the energy available instead of just the excess?!

*hmm!

The Rifle hummed and started radiating heat while the Lancelot has most of its functions unavailable.

Thankfully, Suzaku was always being hounded by Lloyd and Cecil about knowing, at least, the operating system of the Lancelot LAV, so much so that Suzaku did manage to learn it enough to do a self-check and other minor maintenance and debugging for the said system.

*Boom!

Everyone outside heard that explosion, though it might appear dull to some people who are quite far.

They are just panicked about the collapsing road of the bridge although strangely enough, the walls or sides of the bridge aren't falling apart together with the road.

Well, the reason is that it was made stronger and thicker because it was supposed to block the water from coming in.

The people quickly noticed where the explosion came from as a cloud of dust came up higher than the current one which was produced by the collapsing road.

Then a white Knightmare frame came up from the place where that particular explosion happened.

It surprised everyone that those people from the Japanese liberation front were startled.

Especially that group of people who were piloting that ugly machine earlier.

They were watching the collapse happen together with their general as they gave a brief report on what happened for them to use the emergency protocol.

"Sir, that, is what happened." The leader seriously said with a grim face as he truly did not expect that white monster to survive the collapse.

"Hmmm. I understand." The general said with a grim face too.

'Should we have, maybe, just destroyed the whole bridge?

If we did that, then this white machine would have been flooded by water by now.

Sigh, that would also be detrimental to us though, and this resort too.' The general though.

"You managed to come out!" Cecil's excited voice sounded out from the communication channel but Suzaku did not even bother answering as she check the surroundings and where she came out.

She then looked at the busted laser rifle before leaving it on the ground again, this time, for good, because it was unusable now.

The rifle was busted from overloading its capacity.

The real trick on how Suzaku was able to get out of this isn't just because she used a laser gun.

She had to first overload the thing with all of Lancelot's energy and then the energy compression system would stop working because there is too much input of power.

This was something she thought of suddenly and was glad that it was possible when she saw in the status display of the gun that the compression had failed.

The laser beam that came out from the gun was in splashing mode which prepared the effect to a slightly large area, more than enough for a Knightmare frame to go through.

And now, after a quick assessment of her position and situation, she immediately revved up the Lancelot as it got all its energy back and the energy shield was also turned on.

Then without further ado, she dashes off towards the enemy's position, the resort.

All this is under the cover of the dust that was rising and is already good enough to obscure the vision of the naked eye and another simple surveillance mechanism.

Although she was hidden by the dust, the sound and the promotion in the dusty environment made all the people realize and know what she is doing.

The Japanese Liberation Front quickly prepared to defend with their available weaponry which was just mostly infantry equipment and a few outdated Knightmare frames they customized for their use.

All the projectiles from the various infantry weaponry were not able to penetrate the energy shield that she had.

And everyone noticed that, even Cornelia was slightly impressed by this green transparent energy shield.

The enemy's Knightmare frame was waiting for her and they quickly engaged in a fight when Suzaku was close enough.

These outdated machines didn't even have any hot weapons and can only use cold weapons such as the favorite weapon of Britannians, the Lance, and the sword together with a physical shield.

Terrorists don't have any self-developed machine, they are too oppressed to fund that kind of thing.

This let Suzaku have an easier time taking them out but this made Suzaku feel like these people seems too weak.
