Wake up and run!

The burning pierced his skin, he could almost feel it in his bones, then the hands holding him, the voices, and even his own screams became distant, his eyes clouded, and he succumbed to unconsciousness.

He awoke with a start from what seemed like a nightmare, the lights were off, the room was only lit by the grayish glow of the pre-dawn sky, he still had his pants and shoes on, but his shirt was wrinkled on the floor, he made the pretense of pick it up and the pain paralyzed him, understanding a chill throughout his body.

The night before those boys had pinned him down, and after they had done something to his back with a sharp object, his nose wrinkled at the memory of the metallic smell of blood.

He stood up carefully and walked to the bathroom, turned his back to the mirror, and could glimpse out of the corner of his eye a large bandage above his left shoulder blade from which he could guess the great dimension of the wound, he wanted to see but was afraid to remove the bandage and make it worse.

Thinking of the ruthless way they attacked him, it seemed illogical that someone there would take care of his wound, however, there was no time to try to understand the motivation of that group of sadists. He had to flee! Resume the plan to live in a fishing boat and sail as far as possible from that place.

He put on a T-shirt and quickly packed a briefcase with some basic garments, he left the room looking in all directions paranoid, he had been taken distracted once, he would not let it happen to him again.

Some steps alerted him, and he put himself in a defensive position, however when he saw Kim his heart suffered an imbalance, he expected many things from Kim, especially bad things, but nothing as serious as what they had done to him, the others were unknown, so he couldn't feel betrayed by them, but Kim, even though they often fought they grew up together, he was like family, until that moment. He wouldn't forgive one more offense from Kim.

He approached the black-haired man with firm steps, the look in Kimi's eyes was compassionate.

"Tan," Kim said. "I need you to get dressed and go down to the library, we will have a meeting."

So, without being willing to listen to him, he pounced on him and gave him several blows, in the stomach, ribs, and face, leaving new bruises on the old ones, to his surprise Kim didn't defend himself, nor did he try to cover the attacks, he received each one of the blows with an impassive face.

"I'm sorry" Kimi whispered as a tear slid down his sore cheek, mixing with the blood that dripped from his chin.

"Are you apologizing? Now you apologize, you fucking bastard? "

"Take it easy. I know you're upset, and you sure hate me, but I tried to avoid it."

"You always surprise me Kimi Ezkara, you always end up showing me that you are worse than I think."

"I tried to avoid it, I opposed all this as much as I could."

"I'm not going to meet anyone" he answered with conviction looking him straight in the eyes. "Tell your friends to go to hell, I'm not going to participate in their shit."

Kim tried to grab him by the arm, but Tan broke free and started running, only stopping when he heard voices on the first floor.

"What will happen now?"

"We must act on his reaction."

"Who will explain it to him?"

"I don't feel like killing anyone these days."

"That won't happen, Kim will convince him."

"No one is going to die today, we have enough with Wad."

"Tanou is one of us, he will accept it sooner or later"

Kill? They had to be joking, it couldn't be possible, although considering what they had done to him, it didn't sound so far-fetched that they were capable of killing him. What the hell was he up to? His hands began to tremble and sweat broke out on his forehead.

If it was a case of life and death, he had little choice, it was up to him to die or kill. His training had been very strict, handling weapons of all kinds, combat techniques, toxicology, survival, he never asked questions about the reason for receiving such a peculiar education, but now he thanked his parents.

He stealthily walked in his footsteps up the stairs, willing to fight Kimi again if necessary, but he was not found again, at the end of the second-floor corridor there was an open window, a perfect opportunity to escape, he leaned out the window, and he looked down, there was nothing to hold on to and the window below was closed, he considered it deeply, and he was not that high, he was at risk of hurting an ankle, but he had no other, he had already jumped from similar heights before, he sat on the window frame and dropped, flexing his legs at the end, his feet hurt a bit from the fall, and he was certainly nervous but except for that he was fine, he was free, he could sneak into the woods and never come back to see any of those lunatics, or so he thought until a reddish hair peeked out the window from which he had just jumped.

The girl -he wasn't sure which of the twins it was- opened her eyes in a surprised expression, they both looked at each other for a second, and then the redhead screamed with all her might.

"He's running away!"

Tanou cursed her internally, wishing she would fall through the window and break her neck, he started to flee into the forest hearing screams and rapid footsteps behind him.

"Stop!"

"Stop it guys, you are scaring him"

"Catch him!"

"Tan, you're getting us in trouble!"

"Ryan don't shoot!"

A shot rang out, then another, followed by a scream.

Tanou had been running through the forest at his maximum speed for at least ten minutes, and he already felt the oxygen leaving his body, he was weak and too scared, unfortunately, there was no civilization near that residence, so he only found weeds to hide in, he had left From listening to the others a while ago, it seemed like I had lost them.

He filled his lungs with the fresh air of the forest, the smell of wet earth and grass made him feel even further away from his home, where everything is urbanization, he reached for his cell phone in his pocket and discovered with regret that someone had taken the battery from it, making it impossible for him to use it. He walked in a daze away from the path where he would be easily found, the first rays of the day's sun hit his eyes dazzling him, when his eyes regained vision in front of him was Candace, one of the residence's tutors, wearing sports clothes and her dark hair tied back in a ponytail.

"Darawan! Thank God I found you! "
