Luna stared at Sendra's belly with envy, but she suppressed her feelings and spoke calmly, "Ice Queen, I didn't know that you were pregnant with Onii-chan's baby. It's joyful news. Should I send a letter to Onii-chan and tell him about the child?"
Sendra's cold, silver eyes narrowed as she released her deadly cold aura into the room without warning. Mspiien and her daughters froze, their eyes wide with fear, their breaths halted as their veins pulsed with dark crimson in terror.
"You foolish Elf. Has she lost her mind? Does she wish to be killed by the Ice Goddess?" Mspiien thought inwardly, gritting her teeth. She wasn't alone; all her daughters shared the same sentiment, cursing Luna for her recklessness.
Luna remained rooted in place, unable to move an inch under the oppressive weight of Sendra's aura. She realized her words had somehow provoked Sendra, even though they contained no offense.
"No, you will not send him any written letter, nor will anyone tell him about the child I'm carrying. Do you all understand?" Sendra sneered, returning to her bed and turning her back to them. Her face softened as she lovingly rubbed her belly, a fragile link between her and Xzson.
"As you wish, Ice Queen," Luna said in a low voice.
Sendra turned her head and glanced at Luna, sensing that she had something on her mind.
"Is there something on your mind, Elf? Speak up, don't just stand there," Sendra prompted.
"Yes, there is something very important that I'd like to share with you, Ice Queen. It's about the Dark Order," Luna spoke up, her words hanging heavy in the air. Silence engulfed the room as Mspiien pondered the significance of this unfamiliar term.
"The Dark Order? Weren't they the ones who attacked Xzson at the border of the Dragon Kingdom? I only know bits and pieces, but they're somehow connected to demons and practice dark magic, which goes against human law," Mspiien recalled.
"Indeed, what you said is true. The Dark Order comprises those who have betrayed humanity and worshiped the Demon Gods," Luna confirmed calmly, but before she could continue, Mspiien interrupted.
"What Demon God? That's impossible! Demon Gods don't exist in this world," Mspiien's voice reverberated loudly in the room, startling everyone. When she realized her outburst, she quickly prostrated herself on the ground and apologized.
"I-Ice Goddess... Please forgive me for my rudeness!"
"I shall forgive you, but remember, I don't like when someone repeats the same mistake," Sendra's voice was hoarse as she looked at Mspiien with cold eyes.
"Yes, I will keep that in mind," Mspiien responded meekly.
Polina couldn't help but let out a small, gleeful laugh at her mother's slip-up, thinking, "She tells me to be disciplined like a noble, but she can't even control herself. How ironic."
"Let's return to the main subject. What did you want to tell me about the Dark Order?" Sendra sighed wearily, waiting for Luna's explanation.
"Before I speak, I would like to clarify something," Luna stated, her gaze meeting Mspiien's, sensing her agitation.
"Demon Gods might be real!" Luna declared with resolve. Her words sent shockwaves through the room, as they realized this might herald the beginning of a dark chapter in their world's fate.
Sendra, who had been dazed until now, snapped out of her stupor and approached Luna. "What do you mean by Demon Gods, and what makes you think they might be real?"
"Ice Goddess, I said they might be real. I may not have enough evidence to confirm their existence 100%, but certain past events during the last demon invasion suggest the possibility of Demon Gods," Luna replied, unwavering in her stance as she met Sendra's icy gaze.
Sendra turned away and settled onto the sofa, surrounded by multiple mirrors. "What past events are you referring to? I don't know much about this land's history. Tell me everything you know about these Demon Gods."
Meanwhile, Mspiien and her daughters struggled to process the gravity of the situation. Though they hailed from another continent, they were aware of the widespread knowledge surrounding the existence of Demon Gods.
"Demon God? Wasn't that just a thing from old stories Mother used to tell us when I was little? But now that elf is claiming it's real. Is she fabricating all of this to gain favor from the Ice Goddess?" Gozen thought, eyeing Luna with distrustful looks.
"Before I continue, let me provide you all with a brief overview of the Demon God and ancient history. When the God One created the world, he inadvertently created a creature—a demon—by his own hands. This first demon brought destruction upon half of the world, massacring countless innocent creatures without pause, and continued to strengthen its power. The God One eventually realized the grave mistake he had made and felt overwhelming guilt," Luna began, her voice steady.
"The God One exerted all his strength to defeat the Demon God. However, the Demon God had already transcended his limits and achieved godhood by consuming the life forces of innocent beings. Despite this, the Demon God was ultimately defeated. The God One did not seal or curse him, knowing that if he let him go, the Demon God would only grow more powerful and seek revenge in the future. Therefore, the God One chose to end him swiftly, erasing him from existence. That is the legend," Luna concluded, her gaze shifting to Sendra.
"That was certainly an intriguing story, but it doesn't explain why you believe the Demon God is real," Sendra remarked.
Luna nodded in agreement before continuing, "Have you ever wondered how the Demon Lord was able to break his seal and attack our world?"
"So you're suggesting that the Demon God is behind the Demon Lord's actions?" Sendra inquired.
"Maybe, or possibly. There's more evidence to consider. Heroes from another world in the past have slain the Demon Lord countless times, yet he always manages to return. Isn't that strange? Moreover, over the centuries, the Demon Lord's strength has increased exponentially. Though I haven't witnessed it firsthand, the last hero, who lived 500 years ago, barely managed to defeat the Demon Lord and couldn't kill him. The hero even warned, 'The next time the Demon comes, it could mean the end of the entire world,'" Luna explained.
