Footsteps...

As I awakened to the soft sound of talking from the other members of the group I slowly open my eyes looking around at them all. I was still sleepy from the night however I shook off my drowsiness slightly then started to count heads to make sure everyone was here.

Lucky this time the number was correct no one was missing no extra. Thank goodness.

I look over at Pocket with a kinda glance he just gives me a small smile. For some reason, his smile felt less genuine.

We all pack up what little things we had and wait for the masked lady to open the doors. We wait for what seems like an hour or so, nothing happens we start to worry slightly when all of a sudden there was a small tap at the door followed by a paper note that was slid under the door.

The note read: 'children no matter what don't make noises. There are hunters here.'

I didn't want to panic the others however they needed to be quiet I turn to them all and put my finger to my mouth as to say be quiet all of them fall silent and we start to hear voices from the halls.

The voices were muffled however, we managed to make out a few sounds and words. "Where is.....ch..d..." one voice says sounding irritated. "We know you have them," another voice says this time a woman's she sounded calm but dangerous.

We all heard some noise from below that sounded like things breaking then silence fell.

After a while, we heard a door close and the lady comes and opens the door. The lady looks sad but thankful that we were quiet.

The lady then asks us to follow her by waving her hand in the direction of the hall. We all follow her reluctantly.

When we all walked into the dining hall we look around seeing that some of the chairs were out of place one was even broken another had red markings on it that looked like blood. We then come face to face with the master of the house who was still as grumpy as we had first met him.

"I'm afraid you children are no longer safe here you must leave at once with haste before you are discovered," he tells us in a rushed yet formal way as to sound cold.

I explain that we understand and are extremely grateful to both him and his wife. He raised his brow at first then just leads us to the door on our way out the masked lady hands us a bag of food and medical supplies. She wished us luck explaining she was sad to see us go.

We thank them both again then went on our way. I wonder where we are heading this time I think to myself. I just hope that it's somewhere safe.

To be continued...
