FRESH BLOOD

The night sky was brightly lit with stars. The moon was in full view. The night looked beautiful.

Three beautiful teenage girls twirled around in the huge parking lot of a makeup studio. They squealed loudly in their high pitched voices. Their laughter filled the air.

Brittany, Layla and Taylor strutted away from the makeup studio in their prom dresses. They looked gorgeous and classy. They waved their long hair in the wind and caught the attention of passers by.

"Hey!!!! We're finally ready!" Brittany screeched.

"Hell yasss Queen!" Taylor replied waving both hands in the air.

"Time to hit the prom!" Layla echoed into the night sky.

Layla looked at her two friends and gave a mischievous smirk. "Guys tonight's finally the night. Oh my God! I can't believe it!" Layla screamed as they walked to their car.

"Oh my God! I can't believe it either! Kane rented this super luxurious hotel room that comes all ready with condoms in it!" Brittany shouted as she stopped to grip the hands of her friends in excitement.

Taylor ran her hands through her hair getting ready to make boast herself. "Jeremy made reservations for dinner at a 'Dead Lobster' and on top of that booked a penthouse suite for us. It's got a friggin hot tub!!!" Taylor gloated feeling like she won her friends in the game of boasting.

Layla and Brittany instantly hushed themselves. They were green with envy but still forced smiles on their faces. "Oh my God! I'm totally happy for you." Layla uttered forcing the words through her clenched teeth.

"Oh my God! Yeah-h!" Brittany also forced. Her jealousy was getting visible so she immediately decided to change the topic.

"Yassss! Girls!!! I can't believe we're all losing our V card tonight!! I have literally waited for this day all my life and it's finally here!!! Woooo!!!" Brittany screeched again getting the other girls right back into their initial excitement.

They squealed at the top of their voices. Brittany took the girls' hands and locked them around in a circle.

"Let's decide today that whatever happens, since we made this pact and are all losing our virginity on the same effing day, we are going to be friends for life!!" She looked at her friends round the circle.

They locked eyes with one another and nodded slowly.

"Let's do it!" Taylor agreed. "Yeah." Layla concurred!

"V card sisters! Friends for life!!!" The girls shouted all in unison into the night.

They giggled as they continued their walk back to their car.

They were too engrossed in their trivial matters to notice that they had walked far deeper into the huge parking lot than they had initially walked coming in.

The parking lot was now completely silent. There was not a single soul on the road close by and not even a cricket could be heard chirping.

"Guys...let's get out of here, this parking lot is beginning to give me the creeps." Brittany uttered. Her tone began to change into a more cautious one.

"Yeah...do you guys remember where I parked my car when we came in? I know we had a little champagne before getting our makeup done but I didn't think it was enough to cause a memory wipe." Taylor replied.

The car she had brought the girls there in was suddenly missing.

"G-girls, something feels off." Layla stuttered, fear filling her tone.

At this point, the girls had walked so far away from the makeup studio they came out from that they could only see a glimpse of the lights of the place.

The parking lot they had originally parked in had expanded so much so that they couldn't navigate an exit out of it anymore.

They walked and walked but no matter how far they went they still couldn't find Taylor's car.

The girls began to panic. They felt a looming doom around them.

"G-girls, I'm, I'm scared...." Layla stuttered. She hugged Brittany tightly and cowered behind her back with her tiny body.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find a way out. The car can't just disappear into thin air! There's a logical explanation for everything and I'm sure there's one in this situation too." Brittany tried to stay strong even though she knew there was no logical explanation at all for what was going on. She felt the need to take the lead role and calm her friends down.

"Hahaha...I'm sure it's just because we were drunk when we came in. There's no need to panic." Brittany forced a laugh and a smile. She took Layla's hand and brought her closer so she could feel safer.

Suddenly, a man in a black cloak appeared out of the dark in the middle of the parking lot. He looked like he was a distance away from them.

Taylor spotted the man from afar and said, "Hey! Girls! It seems like we're in luck! There's a man over there! Let's ask him for directions!"

"Jesus Taylor! Don't call the strange man in the middle of a parking lot! He could be a seria-" Brittany shouted at Taylor but was immediately cut off by the sound of her calling the man.

"Hey!! Hey!!! Dude!!!! Please help us!!! We lost our car!!! Please help!!" Taylor screamed at the strange cloaked man against Brittany's advice.

Suddenly, the lights in the parking lot began to flicker. With every dim of the lights, the man who was meters away from them appeared closer and closer to them.

The girls screamed and ran away in different directions. They prayed as they ran for the lights to stop flickering so the man could not catch up with them by whatever magic he seemed to be using.

Brittany ran till she couldn't see her friends again. She turned around to check if they were running behind her but couldn't find any of them. The moment she turned back to continue running forward she was met face to face with a cloaked person and stopped dead in her tracks.

She tried to turn around and as she did her heart dropped. Another cloaked person was behind her.

She was cornered. There was no way to go.
